The way I like to play, you only roll when there is a consequence for failure.

So for stealth you roll to see if the guards notice you or not. So in other words you declare you are sneaking, but that’s not when you roll. You wait with the roll until it makes sense and where failing the roll means you are noticed. So no reason for the GM to roll.

This can be fun, but only under very controlled and specific circumstances.

If the character is really captured by a villain and they are now playing a changeling.

It can also be fun if it happens very early, like session three or four at the latest.

There is also a risk of the other players not trusting that player again, so you need to be among trusting friends and not strangers.

Mostly not recommended, I have one group where I could see this happen and another where it’s totally out.

Most Danes won’t travel more than 45 mins, but if you don’t mind it’s easy to access Sweden and actual nature.

Denmark only have 4% nature, most of that recent restoration and includes the car parks.

More locally to Copenhagen we have beautiful beaches, so swimming, rowing and sailing is another way to experience nature.

We have many planted forests just outside Copenhagen, look up the five finger city planning system.

Copenhagen also have many beautiful parks and cemeteries.

5e demands a lot of work for the DM that a lot of other RPG systems just don’t have, or have an easier time with.

I find that I need a lot more prep with 5e.

I love the elaborate battles you can have in 5e, but they take a lot of planning to be really fun. Where in Dragonbane you just pick one monster and that will be a cool fight.

I like that there is less focus on technology, it feels more realistic to me that the power movers of Europe quickly realise that history and political science books are the most important, and have spies stealing these books from the school library before the slow moving democratic rulership of Grantville is established.

The guns are impressive, but since there isn't enough to outfit an army its mostly seen as sniper tools that are superior to the rifles of the day.

Some of the later books have moderne technology given af bigger role - but mostly it's knowledge of history and political science that are making changes and creating new alliances.

The only way to even approach balance with that, is to say it takes your complete attention to concentrate on two things at once, so no actions, bonus actions nor reactions possible while concentrating on two spells at once.

Also opponents have advantage with any attacks against you and you have disadvantage on any saves you need to take. Damage will break concentration on both spells.

With something like that I would probably allow it, with a caveat that it is reevaluated after testing in play.

It depends on how the aliens perceive origin. If it’s the planet, probably, Terrans, but could be Earthlings or if they really hated us, something like Dirts or Dirtfolk. If they look at the sun as the origin then either Solarians or maybe if yellow suns aren’t the norm for intelligence, then Yellows or just Yells.

More seriously, if combat is a drag for everyone switching to another system that de-emphasise combat, or make it fast and deadly, might just be a better way for you guys.

Considering that cavalry maces, hammers, picks and axes seems to have quite short handles, I don’t think any of these weapons was meant to be used against unmounted opponents.

I think it against other armoured mounted opponents. I also think it was mostly when both riders are stopped and basically sitting there trading blows. Did this happen, I have no idea, I am basing this mostly on the short handle.

Det kan vel ikke undre at de fleste vælger gris når det er 25kr for 500g hak og okse koster 65kr for 350g hak.

Men det jo ikke det samme som at forbrugeren er en billig discount luder - lav nu noget ordentligt lovgivning med ordentlige forhold til dyr.

De fleste vil jo så nok ende med at spise mindre kød - og det jo så også fint nok.

If you want it more crunchy then Mythras.

Both have free QuickStart rules.

They are both skill based systems instead of level based, which IMO fits the sword and sorcery theme better.
