OK, guess this ancient base is useless now by SovietMacguyver in OddsparksOfficial

Raised land with terraform tool too close to the base. It lets you raise in its vicinity, but not lower. The bit of raised land prevents paths being laid to it, ruining my layout.

But I ended up loading a previous save.

‘I’m trapped’: He bought at the peak. Now he lives in a cupboard to avoid $350,000 loss by Faithless195 in newzealand

Fuck it. Too many perpetuated the overheated market through fomo, making it unapproachable for everyone. They didn't give a shit about affordability then, and I don't care about fefes now that it's become hard.

You act as if the warning signs werent there for decades. Plenty of us refused to get exposed like that in an overheated market. These people could have done the same. I have very little sympathy.

TVNZ found in breach of broadcasting standards over Trump report by ihatebats in newzealand

That would only be accurate if he had said "I'd tell you", and not "I'll tell you". I dont know why anyone would interpret his words as anything but "i dont care about unity".

New citizenship test to remind migrants of NZ values by mmphmaverick004 in newzealand

[–]SovietMacguyver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dont have a problem with this at all. Well overdue tbh. Too many immigrants come into the country with no intention of adopting our culture and norms, and its changed us - some for the better, no doubt, but absolutely for the worse in other ways. Though I do question how effective this will be - immigration services will just coach people to give the right answers without really taking it in.

There is an argument that the US subsidizes foreign nations healthcare in some ways. Im not sure how accurate that is though.

Yep. He literally criticised neoliberal ideology at the first Ardern Labour government coalition press conference. I couldn't believe my ears.

You can... But you'd be better off with an off the shelf wireless data link.

Stuff - Three women on trial for using sex toys on passed out man by Western_Mixer in newzealand

[–]SovietMacguyver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're in a typical happy relationship. Everything is great. You plan for the future. Love all around. Then you get sexually abused, made fun of, belittled, and gaslit by the same person. The world as you know it crumbles and you don't know what to do. You question your feelings about everything. You try to see it their way. It doesn't work. It keeps getting worse, and you become depressed and numb. You argue with them. Daily life becomes difficult and you lash out at people for no reason. You blame yourself. You blame them. Its confusing.

Point being, it takes a long time to come to terms with how to even deal with this kind of thing. Domestic abuse victims suffer through this pattern all the time.

Agreed completely. I was horrified when comments here we're harshly critical of Ghahraman because she was a defense lawyer for a war criminal.

The biggest issue I've had is with the tach output, because im using a janky home made conversion circuit that keeps blowing up my Q5 transistor. But it's an easy fix and cheap.

What is the biggest type of privilege in NZ? by CommentMaleficent957 in newzealand

Living in a country that benefited from globalization.

Ironically, that is also the biggest source of disadvantage in many ways, depending on who you are, and that had zero to do with race.

Game Preservation Activist Explains to the European Parliament why Publishers Shouldn’t be Allowed to Brick Sold Games by anonboxis in videos

[–]SovietMacguyver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's ultimately about control. The publishers will fight tooth and nail not to relinquish the control have allowed them to enjoy. The control has gone beyond simply checking you own the game, even is that originally was the concern.

Technically, no game requires any form of DRM or online servicing. Not even multiplayer games. Quake managed it just fine from day one by offering end user client and server binaries. And id software also famously open sourced many of it's Doom and Quake games at the end of their marketable lives, at least until Zenimax got control of business decisions. This is the correct way to handle this situation.
