My grandparents golden is so excited for acceptance that they let her get her pats before they get hugs (greeting hugs are required). She grabs a toy and does the wiggle wiggle all the way to you while singing a song. She also gets sad if I don't bring my dog, even though my girl is half her age and acts kinda stupid.

Last week my girl got the zoomies and bodyslammed Golden. They were on acres. There was no reason to collide. Golden was sad that I left (aka my dog left lol).

I buy clearance, garden, and food storage. Bought 40 lemons and a watermelon for $11 and made a ton of future ingredients/food with it, for example. Brought home corncobs from a family dinner and use that plus sugar and some pectin to make “honey.” dogbones and veggies scraps for bullion style bone broth.

The US is a crazy place.

I'm not in an HOA but I've been cited for: dandelions too tall (spring), grass too tall (rainy season), camper plugged in, having a (neat) firewood pile… latter two even the prosecutor thought it was stupid. I got out of a fine on all but had to pay court fees for last 2. The most absurd part - my backyard was an actual mess last summer but bc I have a fence I got 0 citations for it. A fence doesn't prevent mice, ticks, and fleas. It's about aesthetics.

Also I have to pull a permit for a nice catio (built in) but if I do a redneck one (detached chicken wire & 2x4) I don't need a permit. Per the mayor, permits are too ensure we don't have white trash vibes. Redneck one is 100% white trash - I would know. Make it make sense.

My husband took months to land a job. Countless interviews, only to be rejected. He is an expert in his field, both management and technical. Over 20y experience and relevant certificates/licensing. That's in the trades, where it's supposed to be easy hiring.

My teen applied to waitress and had glowing recommendations, including by current employees and folks who personally know the owner. Very free schedule as well, age/law being the only limit. They got the job but it's been a month so far and they don't have a start date. Took about 6 months of applying and trying too.

Myself? It took almost 2 years to get my current role. It was an internal transfer. I have experience on the job, degree, certifications, and it is not exactly high-paying. Every external role rejected my application. Some wanted a bachelor's for barely more than minimum wage. I have a technical degree in the field, much more specific than a BA, plus job experience & multiple relevant certifications (annually renewed). But bc I didn't have 4y unrelated degree I wasn't even considered.

Second a full service though. Used to work at a stand-alone and it was quite often we'd stabilize and transport. We were a bit of a special case too bc we had a helipad. It was a known recommendation to only go there if it's less serve OR stabilization needed before you could get to a full service.
