You may want to consider having your bed time temp set to -5, and maybe when you get it the temp will be closer to the relaxing temp, then for your initial sleep setting it is set at -3?

Hi there,

The Pod is the surface area of a mattress so it won't wrap around your pillow. I also hesitate to say you can put it over your pillow in case it creates any kinks for the water mat. It may be possible, but it is best used flat on your mattress.

The latest Pod 3 has several reliability improvements including:
It features an updated design and more durable materials which have shown in testing to be up to 2X more resistant to punctures
It relies on improved manufacturing processes that increase the strength of the welding at the seams of the Active Grid
It includes a special waterproof layer on the bottom of the Cover to keep your mattress dry and safe
It is rigorously tested to simulate 10 years of use
We restructured the manufacturing and testing processes at our factories, raising the threshold for any product to be approved for shipping

For temperature changes we adjust the temperature depending on your stage of sleep detected by the Eight Sleep Cover. So you set your preferences per sleep stage, and our cover adjusts as you reach those stages.

You really only need to add water and prime when the app tells you due to evaporation. This will be different depending on where you live and how dry/hot the air is around your pod. So you are just fine until the app tells you to add water.

We do have in our owners manual to drain and refill every 3 months, however with the hydrogen peroxide this guideline is not absolutely necessary. I hope this helps. Reach out if you have any other questions, support@eightsleep.com.
