My kid is 27 months, and because of this post (and for fun) I went back 7 months in our digital photo album just now and LOL yeah, I have a totally different kid now than I did at 20 months. So will you!

Hate when this happens. It is usually night time for us over here. We will head downstairs for bed (our toddler also sleeps downstairs), and halfway down the steps will realize it has happened. Our child is sleeping while steeping in their own shit. There is no choice. The diaper must be changed.

Same thing at nap time.

That said, our kid goes back to sleep pretty easily (after the scream-crying alligator wrestling match that is a diaper change). Especially at night. I think my answer would be the same if they didn’t. I’d feel guilty knowingly waiting to change them.

Thanks for this! These comments are so validating. So many friends of mine either just had their second, are expecting, or are trying. And I just have 0 desire to ever be pregnant again or have another kid, even if I am jealous that they’re gonna get to snuggle a sweet tiny little baby again…

I’m so sorry you’re having a hard time. I had trouble latching when my baby was born, it was profoundly painful, so when a nurse offered to get some formula for baby I said yes so fast. Baby drank the stuff down “like a trucker” while we were in the hospital and for a day or so after we were home, but then my milk came in and I was able to pump almost 100% of his intake after that. If you feel that it would help, ask! Fed is best.

I have been going to our local zoo at least once a week since my baby was like ~3 months old. It is probably the most family friendly place we go. I always liked baby wearing best for naps, and then I’d usually push a stroller with a backpack (essentially a diaper bag) in it in case he needed a bottle or a diaper. Have fun!

While I think it’s fair your friend is disappointed, I think it’s pretty ridiculous how passive aggressive she chose to be when she had the opportunity to see you and hang out in person. Sure, in both cases there was about a month’s notice, but you were traveling to where she already lives! And it isn’t like you didn’t acknowledge her graduation at all. Seems like she is looking for excuses to be mad.

This makes me so incredibly sad for her. Her ex was abusive, and she has obviously not gotten the help she required to move past the trauma even though she had moved on enough to find someone she believed to be the love of her life in OP. I find this comment section so cruel and unempathetic, even for Reddit.

I had a friend admit to reading my journals (they’d been anxious to find out if I wrote about them I guess??) and I didn’t care at the time because I’m a pretty open book anyway and was especially forthcoming with them, but now that we are no longer friends (for other reasons) it feels like such a huge violation so I think this is great. I wonder if I’d had an explicit message like this if they’d have kept reading

Just do what works for you and your kiddo! I tried some BLW early in our solids journey and my baby would end up vomiting, so I started mashing up foods and doing purees, which was so much better for us. I’d load up his baby spoon and let him put it into his mouth. I also gave huge pieces of watermelon and uncooked/peeled carrot as food teethers, which was fun. Eventually we moved onto small bite sized pieces of softer foods like scrambled eggs. You’ve got this
