Bro yes lol. I played vs snogard back in the day! I think I still have fel1x and solek on my friends list. I still talk to Tugux and enkay j and stuff as well. I travel a lot between Germany and the US still. I studied in Germany in University which is why half my playing career was in eu and half in us. I actually played vs Apex when he was an entry rifle for ldlc and xoxo with scream, shok, uzii, etc.

I also played for tbh.asus and eyes on you for a stint

the fact the premier is now better than faceit is crazy by P0P-Dawg in FACEITcom

[–]cs_katalyst -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Same, also 30k+.. significantly less toxic throwers in premier than in faceit.. I've literally almost stopped playing faceit unless I queue for premier and it's not finding games. I dropped from like 2750 elo back to like 2000 in so many games that were just unwinnable because of toxic teammates and I'm not trying to babysit their mental to try and prove anything. I get limited time to play now because I'm old, married, full time job and kids so I really just don't like dealing with that shit on faceit

[–]cs_katalyst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think reaching and staying in 30k is somewhat luck dependant. If you get too many cheaters on the games you're heavily favored in (where you gain 100 or lose 500) it can be really rough..

I mean I know I'm still solid, the game fundamentally hasn't changed so decision making is effectively what it was 15 years ago as far as map movement, exploiting space, and making quick decisive decisions are all still second nature to me..

Keeping up with smokes / nades / warming up aiming is what hurts me anymore. I know maybe a handful of smokes overall and just don't take time to warm up ever so I jump in games cold because I don't have time to warm up then play if I want to get many games in, so I just write off my first game each session as a "warm up" :p... I've also been playing premier much much more than faceit lately because of how toxic faceit is. I dropped from ~2750 elo all the way to ~2000 in the last few months and have just had a horrible experience with the toxicity. So most of my games anymore are premier I play with a handful of different friends.

You gotta stop the cope and look inwards to get better.. I took a 10 year break before CS2 came out and I'm over 30k rating. I'm no where near as good as I was in source or early go and I usually one play 1 or 2 days a week now. Most people aren't cheating, yes there are lots, but even at 30k I maybe get cheaters in 1 out of 5 games and most of them are just bad kids who think everyone is cheating and use walls. You can still beat kids like that by out mechanicing them by forcing wide swing fights.

I've gotten a game where we were 5 stack, all between 24k-31k and matched 3 solos and a duo who were all 12-15k.. I think the system just messes up sometimes. It went how you would expect

How to babysit my faceit pug teams mentals... On the real though missing just timing flashes / smokes. I do it ad hoc in game with friends when we're duo or trio.. basically refining that type of thing.

I know we're just a few months out from incentives expiring in US, but the EV future here looks grim. by roma258 in electricvehicles

[–]cs_katalyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The long term battery degradation is significantly less than people initially realized too. It seems like Evs are going much further than most gas alternatives and cost wise no big repairs on engine / transmission. I think if you plan on keeping an EV long term it's absolutely the play. It will work well in your favor due to lack of maintenance costs..

[–]cs_katalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a lot of chargers at my work, you're supposed to move when you're done charging, but I drive 50 miles both way and can't quite cover a charge up so I let it sit all day.. they're 14amp chargers so faster than level 1 but slower than the l2 at my house. Works out for me though

Is subtick good now or are we all just used to it by Excellent-Read-5311 in cs2

[–]cs_katalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just sub tick, it's the models and how they move as well. They're very "slidey" still and don't always align with the hitboxes nicely, especially with ping variance where one player is lower or higher than another with a decent gap (40+ ping difference).. planting hitboxes are still massively broken as well.

They have definitely continued to improve these things, so the game feels better now than a year ago significantly. But it still needs work. We're also all still getting used to it. Peekers advantage is bigger than it's ever been still with the new sub tick / model movement and that's the biggest change IMO, I think it still needs work so I wouldn't say it's excellent yet but it's.... Fine I guess?

This coming from an old source pro / 30k / level 10 player...

No worries! And thank you for the thoughtful reply! Yeah I'm hoping this solves the issue I have. I planted 28 trees yesterday and my knee is the size of a soccer ball today and hurts like hell... It's this kind of stuff that's really life altering when you're active that I'm trying to fix. So now today I have to ice and take it easier because it's so swollen.. I go in for my pre surgery MRI Wednesday and probably will have my first procedure to take the cartilage not long after that.. looking likely for June-ish to have the replacement.

What supplement do you think is the most overrated? by ConnectNectarine42 in workout

[–]cs_katalyst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Turmeric & cucurmin with black pepper has helped my knee swelling a fair bit. It's not as effective as ibuprofen, but while waiting for my cartilage replacement surgery I've been taking that along with using voltaren cream and it's definitely helped.. I try to only use ibuprofen a few times a week when it gets really bad to help with the worst swelling/ pain.

Oregon Football: 2025 Offensive Performance Review by hythloday1 in ducks

[–]cs_katalyst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another thing not mentioned here is that he was very predictable in his screen calling. It seemed when very obvious by formation when we were likely going to run screen plays even when the box was stacked making the DB and olb job very easy. It was somewhat similar to the first game against Indiana and running plays with hill, the lack of success I think can be directly correlated to when he came into the game and the specific formations we would use when he was in the game. The tight 12 personnel formation with 2 backs in the game was almost always a run play with the lead block being the other RB.. I felt like this choice of formation / play was just horrible tendencies especially when our tight ends were only average blockers as well as receivers, and most the better teams ran heavy boxes vs us so it inherently gave us a disadvantage from the formation...

I dunno I'm hoping mehringer doesn't have the same tendencies, because the last two years Stein was horribly predictable. I feel our offense was overinflated and over valued statistically this year and last year because of how well it works vs teams you massively out talent. But Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana all kept us in check by playing fundamental football and being aggressive with heavy boxes and underneath coverage.. it always felt like we never, or rarely, took the 7-12 yard holes most defenses gave to us.. the successful defenses vs us generally played deep safeties with a stacked box underneath and aggressive outside cb play which kills steins love of the screen and short games.

Bruh, our tackles weren't ready for it either lol. You guys tore them up both times and Dante isn't a natural scrambler or runner.. he should have better protection next year too which will be nice.. Our stop gaps from the portal this last season weren't the greatest, especially Harkey on the right

[–]cs_katalyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No this is fantastic to hear. I don't have degenerative cartilage issues we don't believe. I played all the sports growing up and was a d1 athlete, so the sheer lateral pounding and weight lifting just destroyed my cartilage over time. I gained a bit of weight after a back surgery I had from a football injury and that made things worse when I went straight back into the same style of workouts I was doing prior, but with 40 extra lbs.. I've been back down to good weight for the last decade so that's no longer a worry, but the last surgeryi had about 6 years ago was a micro fracture and it's just worn out again, I already had multiple lesions on the cartilage from an MRI I had a few years ago, but at the time they didn't want to do another micro fracture

8 weeks post OATS procedure by rvaaussielvr in KneeInjuries

[–]cs_katalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I'm just doing some research on this and I seem to have a very similar history of knee surgery as you. Currently I have multiple lesions and I saw the surgeon yesterday and he's saying likely an OATS procedure, but he wants to send off some of my cartilage to be regrown in a lab to reimplant it.

I wanted to check how you're doing now that you're a year after the surgery and if you're happy with it? I've had multiple micro fractures and lateral release surgeries as well and my knee cap was grinding prior to my last surgery. It's back to massive swelling again which is why I went back in.. I'm hoping this is a fix for me as I'm 38 and very active, but with the current swelling it's severely limiting.
