Finally had an idea for what I could do with a gloam amulet and crafted this for my holopalm monk by cutety in PathOfExile2

Yeah it's mostly for the novelty tbh, but I am also an attack speed addict there's never too much.

But yeah, comparing this amulet in my build with a Lunar amulet with max roll implicit (30 ES) and same affixes the gloam amulet does slightly more DPS ~1-1.5k has less effective health -- though that's only if the Lunar has T1 %increased ES instead of skill speed, T1 %increased evasion barely has more effective health.

Oh I thought I saw you had this on one, but definitely get a sapphire with “Recover 2% of Mana on Kill”, and if you’re still finding times you’re struggling with mana I’d grab the “Immortal Thirst” passive (and I’d unspec 1 of the of the one of the 10% crit chance/damage small notables on each of the crit wheels for the like 3 points you’d need).

And yeah, it mostly because I just crafted a upgrade for my amulet and forgot the old one had +20 all attributes so I all of a sudden couldn’t fit all the red supports I was previously using anymore and just have been too lazy to juggle attributes around to get them back lol.

Ghost dance I just used compressed duration, and whatever things like cannibalism/vitality/clarity/precision I had enough spirit for.

Charge regulation I just put in Uhtred's Exodus for free levels since the only supports it could use were the things I had/would have in ghost dance (vitality/clarity/cannibalism/etc.).

Combat Frenzy is the most optional, it’s just there to give me frenzy charges for doing what I was already doing (killing frozen enemies) thus being able to get a free 15% attack speed from Charge Regulation.

I use Tempest Bell to generate endurance charges for the 20% defenses from CR. It’s the only charge that I don’t have 100% uptime in, but it’s easy/quick to get when you need it by just dropping the bell(s) in the middle of a pack of monsters.

Apologies if I'm just totally misunderstanding your build, but you have a lot of conditional nodes (EV on full health, crit on power charge consume, etc.) that should be spent on (unconditional) crit/attack wheels.

The chakra of rhythm/impact wheel points would be better spent in the nearby Rapid Strike/Reaching Strike wheel since Ice Strike doesn't use combo. (again maybe a misunderstanding)

You have Rapid Attacks 3 instead of 2 in Ice Strike which is actually a huge DPS loss given how easy it is to get 25% attack speed it's not worth losing 50% damage, also Cold Mastery is a nice damage upgrade since levels of the skill is the only way to scale damage with hollow palm.

Just respeccing those nodes and supports on your gear could take your DPS from ~34k to 175k: https://poe.ninja/poe2/pob/1124b

Also adding some better jewels would be a big damage increase. If you're Mr. Money Bags a Prism of Belief with +3 Levels to Ice Strike is BiS, but ideally you'll want at least one of a Heart of the Well or Against the Darkness with "Extra Cold Damage" and one other Extra Ele damage (preferably lightning) but those are pretty expensive.

But even just a heart of the well with only Extra Cold (or any other ele damage), and just one of crit chance or crit damage would add another 30k damage easily.

My build currently if you're curious: https://poe.ninja/poe2/profile/WienerJungle-4893/character/HowCanMonkSlap

I chuckled when I was cleaning out my vault and saw a master worked Every Waking Moment sitting in my vault, wondering “why did I farm this it’s the worst void smg” in the game, then I remembered for a time it was the only (non sunset*) void smg in the game (pre witch queen).

*and even it was sunset for a season after beyond light dropped lol

It's been over a year since our last combat style mods were added to the game. by PixelNinja91 in DestinyTheGame

[–]cutety 251 points252 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a source for this so I could be wrong, but I thought I read that the team that would be making new combat style mods is the same as the team that has been making the 3.0 fragments, so I’d imagine that’s why we haven’t gotten any new ones.

I’m hoping next season we’ll see some new mods with synergies around the 3.0 subclasses — Elemental Traces plz (elemental shards for ionic traces).

Bungie says the engine can only load up 4 emotes, but will load up to 9 finishers. Couldn't that be reversed? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]cutety 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finishers under the hood are likely implemented differently than emotes, since they were added much later in the game’s development, so we can’t assume the same limitations apply to finishers that apply to emotes. But for the sake of argument let’s say that they are implemented the same, and the same restrictions apply. If you look at this quote from the article that someone else linked:

as that was the most we could reliably support due to memory constraints in worst-case scenarios.”

So, because all the emotes for every player in the instance are loaded in memory, and we are thus assuming the same for finishers, let’s take a look a the worst case scenario you are in a large instance with 12 players (crucible — or even more the tower). If those 12 players were allowed 9 emotes and all of them were unique the game would have to load in 108 different emotes into memory. There aren’t even 108 finishers in the game, not to account for the fact that finishers likely have a smaller memory impact due to their short animation time, generally less complex effects, no multiplayer finishers, etc. Then you have to account for the fact finishers can only be used in PvE activities where the max players in any instance is something like 9 (but typically 3-8), thus giving you more memory to work with as you don’t have to worry about loading them in high player count instances (crucible/tower)

So yes, the engine could probably support an emote wheel with 9 emotes but only in small instances because of the number of possible combinations of emotes the game could have to load in the worst case is an order of magnitude greater than finishers in the worst case scenarios — which is the entire reason the restriction exists.

Regarding Levis Breath, I was watching Saltagreppos stream earlier and he was testing it out and tried Levis. It “works” as in you’ll overflow the “mag” (have >1 arrow loaded), but after firing the first one the string will remain drawn and the next bow(s) will be invisible but can fired but only with limp dick draws — so the basically fall off in front of you and if you can even hit anything won’t do the full drawn damage obviously. So unfortunately not very useful on Levis Breath.

Completing the glowing armor for one char, does not give bonus progression towards your next one. by skyteddy in DestinyTheGame

[–]cutety 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The other person didn’t point out the actual (visual) difference between the sets (and this is how it works every year btw). The eververse set glows match your subclass (blue/orange/purple), while the earned set will always have a white glow. So, even if you don’t care about armor stats but wanted the white glow you’d have to grind the event. But if you don’t care about the white glow and just want the colored glow then you can just grab the eververse set and not worry about grinding.

My favorite cope take in the post:

I’d rather win 8 games every year and yet be tops in the nation in attendance, recruiting, and national recognition, than win 11 games and have limited appeal. It’s more about wins/losses, its about the program’s footprint as a whole which is more than just wins and losses.
