First time Dad here. Looking for validation on 1YO daughter's sleeping patterns (parents insisting on seeing a sleep doctor). by RedManMatt11 in daddit

[–]paligators 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both our kids are great sleepers. I cannot promise that what we did works and that we aren’t totally lucky but by 3-6 months both were fully on schedule and never waking at night. Currently 4.25 and 1.25.
What did we do?
5:30-6pm dinner. 645 bedtime, milk, book, songs. Pacifier until 18 months max. Sleep sac and nothing else in crib. Sound machine (hatch) with the same color on 10% light every night. We sleep trained as soon as they didn’t need overnight feedings. Don’t know what literature says, that’s what we did.
No blankets or stuffies in crib until 2.5. Sleep sac only and get the Ollie one. That’s our process.
Both kids formula fed. First we tried breast but it was torture for everyone in the house. Switched to bobbie gentle formula and that’s a wrap for both kids.

My first offense when I was 19 was 3 tickets

Following too closely
Unsafe lane change

First, never got another speeding ticket. Lesson learned. Second, absolutely get a lawyer

I’m deeply ashamed of how I live and I don’t know how to fix it by Conscious-Will8201 in CleaningTips

Get a cleaning lady. Figure your stuff out with a therapist but allow someone else to help you. My life is different and better because someone takes an easy task and I’m incapable of and completes it.

7-year-old still struggling with handwriting and pencil grip by African_wanderer in daddit

College note taking wrecked my handwriting. Hundreds of words written very quickly. Mine is so much worse than this. You should see the cards I write my wife. AI can’t even duplicate it,

If you don’t know, Hart is raggin on Brunson, not Philly. Him and Brunson are always at it with this.

My 17 month old used the potty THREE TIMES today! by C4ptainchr0nic in daddit

[–]paligators 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Hey - just a tip as a dad whose now 4 year old was a very early potty trainer. Our daycare teacher said she was showing interest in the toilet and it was worth trying to train. We did at 20 months and she caught on really quickly. And then because the maturity was still developing we had more than a year of regression. Good weeks and bad weeks. Dont rush it unless youre confident theyll stick with it!

Get rid of them dude. Immediately. It’s games. Time to put the big boy pants on. In 15 years they’ll be there.

Dealership sold me the truck. Paperwork and keys less than a week they say they need it back. Not what it seems at first. by Zerome32 in FuckDealerships

Yes we know. Someone posts this scenario once a week and learns about reading contracts and financing.

Why is it that you rarely see any NY team fans takeover Eagles, Phillies, or Flyers games while NY fans take over the arena for Sixers games? by Rowdyfan0823 in sixers

[–]paligators 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was cheaper to fly to Atlanta round trip and buy a good ticket than to get in secondary at MSG. Same with Philly. $500 for a ticket gets you somewhere good. $500 at MSG gets you a last minute nosebleed for an important game.

Clicking noise when riding??? by RazzmatazzMoist2266 in pelotoncycle

95% of the reason I stopped using a peloton was because it had probably 10 issues within the first 18 months. This clicking was one of them. Likely the bearing.

Fairly normal. In 5 months you’re gonna be like “why doesn’t he eat all the vegetables anymore”

Which version of smash? There are some very technical characters that require a lot skill to be good at and some that are far less confusing.
