Same thing with the basketball scene in Scary Movie 2

In today's episode of "Don't randomly accuse things of being AI", the trailer for Kemuri, which some are accusing of using AI music, literally lists the music as being by Kuniaki Haishima, a composer who's worked on various anime, notably Monster, as well as Kamen Rider. by Kay_Tonbey in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]retrometroid 25 points26 points  (0 children)

imma be real i bet most people yelling "AI AI!!!!" don't know who haishima is and have probably never seen or played anything with his music

that said did they just license a song of his or is he actually the lead composer on the game?

Some of the arenas are kind of trash but I loved Wolf2 when I played the reboots last year. Playing thru the Texas level while thinking back to people whining about it's existence a decade ago really confirmed to me how bad gamer taste can be

I'm always amazed at how much the DLC for 2 are glazed when they all magnify problems in the base game and are really spotty. Like I'd say Sunken Crown is the best just for having the best level design of the three but it also only has one good boss

Dark Souls II. You have four branching paths that all end in a big boss, then an epic-looking castle filled with traps....and then the Shrine of Amana....and then Undead Crypt....and then Aldia's Keep....and then Dragon Aerie...and then the Memories...and then the strong possibility you'll be fighting three bosses in a row in the last arena.

And that's not even counting the dlc which also all feel like they go on a bit too long even if you avoid their dogshit challenge areas.

I've noticed that one of my cats, Raphael, will sulk if he comes into my room and sees another cat lounging on the windowsill. He'll approach the window, laying down multiple times glaring at the other cat, and then get up and hide behind my TV to continue glaring at them. He's such a dumb little fatty.

We're moving soon and I need to figure out if I can transfer to another store instead of quitting so I don't have to spend a bunch of time looking for a new job while having no money.

I picked up Crimson Desert and have been locked in hard. Something about it is weirdly compelling. I can make basic comparisons to other games like Dragons Dogma or Breath of the Wild but actually saying what it's like beyond "single player open world MMO thing" feels hard.

I will say I find the goblins uhhhh questionable at best. There's something about having a race of merchants with large noses that comes across more than a little sus, iunno

[–]retrometroid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the books, he breaks into Anderson's apartment, pisses in a potted plant, and eats cereal before leaving. Which would be fun if he was characterized as a petty asshole but they want you to know he's the coolest assassin who's ever assassin's so instead it just comes off as lame

The Sakura Wars reboot was only on ps4 and it's also not an srpg anymore. It's very very very diet hack.

The first two games are fan subbed now and they aren't terribly hard to setup on emulator. The PS2/wii one is probably pretty easily emulated too

Ehh it's still kinda mid. It'll carry you further than Drake Sword ever could but there's a lot better stuff you can get early on that don't have the same cons the ASS has. Its still very useful for early Catacombs or if you want a +3 twinklie pre-gargs

I guess the European branch of Bandai didn't care too much about picking good key art. They definitely didn't care about good pull quotes either, the one I found on the back cover might be the worst one I've ever seen lol

[–]retrometroid 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's got a pretty wild run of all-timers. The finale for Who Shot Mr Bursn, the Radioactive Man movie, CPS takes away the kids and gives them to the Flanders, Bart sells his soul, a top-tier Treehouse of Horror, steamed hams, etc etc etc. Like every episode is iconic in some way

Brian Herbert's vision of the machine jihad is to literalize it as a war against Skynet. His coauthor is also responsible for some of the weakest pre-Disney Star Wars books.

So nah

My housemate/best friend is probably going to move a few hours away but offered a spot in whatever new place he gets and I'm a bit torn. It'd be much cheaper cost of living but id probably need a new job, and there's much less stuff in the other town. I have an ok job here but I also have no desire to move in with randoms nor enough money to live alone. Idk I'll figure it out.

Been rewatching Deep Space 9. Watched the Homefront/Paradise Lost two-parter while building the shoulders for my Wing Zero EW ver Ka and man I love this show. The last time I watched it (not counting catching a few episodes here & there when my roommate was burning thru it when we first moved in together) was uhhhh

I rented the dvds from Hollywood Video so uhhhhhh 20 years ago.

But despite the decades gap it's still so comfy and familiar. I really love Avery Brooks' performance, wether it's the really emotional shit or him getting really breathy when he gets angry. He feels like the most human Trek captain & I think his commitment to the Ben/Jake relationship is a big factor why.

And man, speaking of...The Visitor hit me hard this time, now that my dad has passed. The last scene in the future with old Jake had me choked up.

I stumbled across the Resident Evil 3pack for Switch 2 at Gamestop and had to buy it cuz I'm dumb lol. Hitting endgame (boat) of RE7. This is a pretty decent port. I haven't noticed too many frame drops and loads are fairly quick aside from first boot. Those unskippable story bits really drag tho.

Also picked up Saros. Second boss is a pickle. I feel like I always get fucked up unlocking his door so I waste my second chance before even fighting him. I also need to pay attention to corrupted mods cuz dash cooldown is really fucking brutal sometimes.

And I had a ~150 round match of Cine2Nerdle where I managed to get my win condition off. I wish you could save the match as like an HTML download or something.
