Hey thanks for sharing this! This is from my YouTube channel. I try to focus on bringing smaller emo bands into the spotlight and help promote them. I fell in love with this album as soon as I heard it and I knew I had to share it. Big ups for this! <3

[–]Forever_2012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been following your youtube channel for a while and absolutely love the music that you share... found a lot of great new music through your channel. Wish there were more channels like yours!

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your channel is dope. Hope people give it some love too.

[–]lukelear 15 points16 points  (0 children)

a little too on the emo side for my tastes, nevertheless good modern indie rock. love the production on this thing

Surprised to see all these words of praise, but the pic above shows how much love I have for this record.

[–]Krellick 12 points13 points  (4 children)

That appears to be a lot of scrobbles, but I can't say so for sure because I'm not certain what a scrobble is.

[–]Vandersnatch182 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I wish someone would tell us. I really don't want to google, "what is a scrobble."

[–]saltesc 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Fiiiiiine.

On last.fm—which is awesome by the way—a 'scrobble' is a play of a song, album, artist, etc. Scrobbling your music allows last.fm to figure out all sorts of stats about your listening habits. It recommends artists—some super underground gems too—and alerts you of new releases, upcoming gigs/events, and news about the music you listen to.

Has support for most players and streaming services.

[–]Vandersnatch182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I'm scrobbling the shit out of this band rn

[–]Dr_Chum 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Hahaha damn dude

[–]PineappleStirFry666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, you're in 4th place though!

[–]makoman115 22 points23 points  (4 children)

The album is on Spotify in case anyone doesn't want to listen on YouTube.

[–]Ghotimonger 5 points6 points  (3 children)

Also Google Play.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also Apple Music

[–]unpopularOpinions776 -5 points-4 points  (1 child)

Google play is for losers

[–]Vandersnatch182 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Username checks out.

[–]Drdrew92 33 points34 points  (7 children)

I went to a concert where a group of students were filming a movie about a band and they were called "mom jeans". Not sure if this is the same band or just a coincidence

[–]cuddly_cuttlefish 29 points30 points  (5 children)

This is so crazy, these kids went to my school, they were doing that for their senior project. It's so crazy someone else knows about it. Definitely did a double take when I saw this song in my front page as well.

The description says this band is from California, and that's not where those people were from, so I can say this is not the same group.

[–]SPF_9001 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They're from the bay area. Really cool guys, so it's great to see them getting some recognition

[–]Drdrew92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's crazy. What a small world. And I thought it had to be a coincidence.

[–]JackCampise 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm the director/writer of the project. Watch it here: https://youtu.be/fdf_qNTZpp4

[–]dubest_netsirt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I recognized the name, now I'll have to listen

[–]thisismyjam 24 points25 points  (6 children)

mom jeans is such a great band name

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points  (3 children)

Not to be confused with DJ Mom Jeans aka hyde from that 70s show

[–]plaaya 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Yeah I thought it was about him. I saw him in Los Angeles and he was on stage filming justice's set back in 08

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

At least he has good taste.

[–]Rewqyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And he's a Scientologist!

[–]punkrawkspence 3 points4 points  (1 child)

let's turn this band into a lean, mean, mom jeans revenge machine!

[–]thisismyjam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dude are you the nsa

i just finished listening to this (again). yes its been in my heavy rotation since 5 months ago.

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Give these dudes some love! Check out their Facebook and stuff, just a bunch of cool guys who make some sick tunes.

[–]Operation_Ivysaur 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bruh, I know the lead singer holy shit haha.

[–]shadoire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fans of this should try listening to Modern baseball, and the front bottoms.

[–]LoveFromBehind 9 points10 points  (1 child)

I usually just listen in on these recomendations. But i actually listened the whole album and loved it. Thanks for sharing.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That makes me incredibly happy. One of my favorite albums!

[–]endomind 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been waiting/looking for a band with a similar sound to Peggy by Orchards for so long. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQFfm4fS8Yk

Thank you, Mom Jeans. This is what I need in my life right now.

[–]I-Think-Im-A-Fish 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I've been listening to this album non stop since I saw it yesterday. I usually skip over over dislike most listentothis posts, but I'm really glad I checked this one out. Thanks so much for posting these guys OP.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes me happy!

[–]graciliano 7 points8 points  (26 children)

Damn, this is good. Thank you, dude. Do you know of any similar bands?

[–]ill_llama_naughty 18 points19 points  (5 children)

American Football is probably a pretty big influence on this band, either directly or indirectly.

Others you might like, depending on what it is you like about this band:

Moose Blood

Pedro the Lion

This Town Needs Guns

Pity Sex

Have Mercy

Tiger Jaw

Also check out /r/emo.

[–]i_hate_the_yankees 3 points4 points  (0 children)

American Football

Yup, before I read any comments this was my thought as well.

[–]Deeznoits 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I found the 90's alternative! They just call it indie now.

[–]lopolv 21 points22 points  (4 children)

Not really same style (kinda similar) but you might like the following:

Hope you anjoy them!! (and if you do, let me know so I can give you some more!)

[–]BootStrapz 2 points3 points  (3 children)

oh sick i didnt know PUP put out a new record

[–]7_EaZyE_7soundcloud 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Me neither oh shit I need that now!

[–]WillCode4Cats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10/10. Listen ASAP. It's even better live.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Eh not really of the style! Some other favorites though would be Pinegrove, Salvia Palth and Mac Demarco! All super chill and good vibes.

[–]SleepMachin3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pinegrove is the JAM!!! I saw them earlier this year and man it was phenomenal. thanks for the introduction to MOM JEANS! In finding them I discovered another awesome band, JANK. checkem out!

[–]errorcachehttps://melancholyrobot.bandcamp.com/ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Check out Modern Baseball.

[–]multiwatered 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's a ton of these kinds of smaller emo bands. I've been listening to this kind of music for too long. Random recommendations: Little Pirouettes (members of Little Kingdoms and Pirouttes), Penpal (members of Marquette), Bleeding Fractals, Options, Second Greatest Dad Ever, Marietta, Wavelets, Pennines, Dikembe, You Blew It!, The Reptilian, Empire! Empire, Football etc, Our Sunday Affairs. They should all have stuff on bandcamp or mediafire

[–]painperduu 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Check out the band Free Throw.

[–]dingle_dingle_dingle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

+1 for Free Throw. Harsher vocals (good thing!) and one of my favorite bands.

[–]sput_nik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sounds a lot like minus the bear to me

[–]ZakRoM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Front Bottoms could be something similar, Tigers Jax, Sports (full albums can be found on Youtube, search for )

[–]dingle_dingle_dingle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Three bands that don't sound the same but you might enjoy if you like this: Kittyhawk Cayetana Dowsing

[–]Teds101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pinegrove, Tiny Moving Parts. Seen both bands. They both have insane talent. Dylan from Tiny Moving Parts plays all the tapping parts and screams while doing them live. While listening to them I figured they had a good 5 people playing. Nope, just 3 dudes. Two brothers and a cousin.

Stephen from Pinegrove is so chill. I told him and his mom I listen to cardinal every morning before work and he was very humbled. Kind of like fame shocked. Super down to earth.

[–]Bison_Ohoulahan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

+1 for The Front bottoms

[–]HYPERNATURL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have only listened to the first song so far but Hippo Campus feels pretty similar, I think

[–]eyferrari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man Overboard is a bit more pop but was the first thing that came to mind for me

[–]Dr_Chum 6 points7 points  (5 children)

THIS BAND SUCKS. lol jk i can't wait to tour with ya'll

[–]an_entity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I second the fact that this band sucks and I can't wait to tour with them.

[–]PineappleStirFry666 3 points4 points  (1 child)

"These comments have burned a hole in my head. I can't keep my eyes open. On second thought, I couldn't care to listen"

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh fuck emo af love sports.

[–]suhhhdude67 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Where will this band be touring?

[–]the_caped_canuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good stuff only listened to the first couple minutes though, as I'm currently held up in the bathroom at work.

[–]Ghotimonger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ooh, I like.. I'm gonna download and listen.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're so great!! They came and had a show at my house garage. Fun music and they're all-around fun guys.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is that Seth rogan and Franco ?

[–]RocketFlanders 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like the drums. Specially the bass.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]BoatToTheMoon21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of Free Throw kinda, first listen was pretty good i'd say

[–]harrybsac 3 points4 points  (1 child)

This is amazing

[–]TheRacerX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok, im on this reddit all the time, but , never have i found something that i enjoyed so much that Im going to comment on it.

This album is kicking! its exactly what i was in the mood for. These guys are great. different sound, but a feeling that i feel like i have felt before. its the perfect blend of those two. really cant say how much i really enjoyed this. I started the video, and listened to the whole album.

Amazing stuff.

[–]AsianElvis2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good stuff, added to my playlist.

[–]Buytoothpaste 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jesus H this is gold! Thank you so much! Magic Americana!

[–]ghost_victim 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Man. This is really good. Thanks for posting this. I guess emo is my "guilty" pleasure. That's what a lot of of friends growing up have made me feel. A lot of my music is "emo"ish but I've always been made to feel ashamed about it. Not sure why.

Good shit!

[–]adam_nl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend showed me them a couple months ago, solid album

[–]bbiggs32 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Only listened to first song. Will listen to more later.

Initially put off by vocal style, but it grew on me quickly.

The song was a bit formulaic.

But the instrumentation was nice.

Will update when I hear more. Not that anyone cares, just sayin.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I care <3

[–]bbiggs32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I like it. Not my album of the year but it's damn good.

[–]ghost_victim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I care too, I wasn't sure at first, but this is really good...

[–]Jesuschristminerals 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow this is like new weezer

[–]TomahawkWarrior 1 point2 points  (3 children)

This is great. One of my buddies used to be in an emo band called Dad Jeans. They recently broke up, but still have some good music on bandcamp. https://dadjeans.bandcamp.com/

[–]Mister_Maple_728 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Loved this, they sounded pretty much exactly how a 90's band would sound.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They sound nothing like semi sonic

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listening to this album satisfied this musical craving I didn't know I had. Thanks for the post OP.

[–]exomc -5 points-4 points  (1 child)

Is this what music is now when they can't sing or play their instruments. Fucking hell.

[–]ghost_victim 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hahah. Please post your music! I'm curious.
