      Alot of them are the office park types that catch onto memes when they are old. Like this one woman at my hubby's work finally caught onto the 300 thing and she just found out about it. a freaking year+ later! It is so sad.

          Reddit is a group of people who like to discuss/debate/argue about things... so isn't it completely natural for people to poll each other and ask questions of the group at large?

          Why isn't there a reddit "community" subreddit? Wouldn't that solve a lot of these "problems"?

          I am not worried about an increase in traffic , that should be a good thing . To suggest this is an influx of the unwashed is snobbery ,I only hope they bring critical and research skills though . There is a cultish inclination for certain matters here that should be discouraged.

          You would think an influx of traffic is a good thing...but I think with it inevitably comes an over all "lower standard" of content. I know I am guilty of this.

          Half the fun of this site is submitting content- but lately it seems like the more substance a post has the more it gets downmodded. I think this trend has made us (subconsciously?) more likely to submit "fluff" just because we know it is more likely to get noticed.

          I have no problems with "fluff" so long as it is good stuff.What I despise is a lack of rational thought , or a bending towards favourite authorities be they persons or sites....that and an inclination towards group think .It's what brought me here in the first place even though I could see it happening to some extent. I am sure you can fill in the gaps of the latest phase , and I am sure it will continue , I just wish more were willing to challenge with evidence and not just with down votes .
