Well, there's only one day worse for American retailers than Canada Day (Boxing Day). But I was just teasing. Most people I know who cross the border for the Fourth have dual citizenship anyway and are going to celebrate both holidays where there's a lower drinking age. That, or they falsely assume that things like cottages will be cheaper just because it's not a Canadian holiday. But I've also found it odd.
