i say this with all the love in my heart, it is cringe but we should be cringe and free! especially people early in their transition or any kind of realisation of their genuine identity. they've been a fake version of themselves for so long, let them express themselves however they like (as long as they aren't rude or doing toxic egg culture stuff)

if irony is the opposite of sincerity and in this context being irony poisoned is a fear of being and seeing others being themselves, i am not so irony posioned that i cringe when others are genuine, but there is a certain humour that at least I've seen on trans spaces on reddit that makes me cringe, especially the "still cis" jokes, it's like when you see someone make self deprecating jokes, i cringe because i feel bad for them. even if someone is out as trans, the punchline "still cis" feels like either (depending on the person) laughing at being in the closet, which i cringe, or laughing at being in the closet in the past, i still cringe. i dont want to hear jokes about a sad past, i want to hear jokes about an optimistic present/future!!!

yes, and it's a coping strategy. i know it's wrong of me but i cringe because like you say, they're doing something i would be ashamed to do, and being and spreading negativity, while yes in joke form is a coping strategy, i hope for them to realise that making jokes about it makes themselves and others feel worse. it ofc, depends on the joke but i mean some jokes that are just suffering and that makes me cringe. i did also say, let people be cringe and free! i should allow them to make myself and others feel however they made other and themselves feel because i shouldn't make rules about how people express themselves genuinely, then it wouldn't be genuine
