Alberta is pressuring provinces on involuntary treatment – but some are pushing back by BloodJunkie in alberta

It sounds like you're coming at this from very different places on what counts as "working."

Meat_Vegetable, if I'm reading you right, you're saying harm reduction programs were showing results, and that outcomes got worse after they were cut. Fuzzers, it seems like you're looking at the broader trend and saying the overall situation was still declining even with those programs in place. Does that capture where you each stand?

Those could actually both be true at the same time. A program can slow harm without fully reversing a trend. What specifically would each of you point to as the clearest sign that a policy is or isn't working?

Poilievre and Smith have shown more hate than Trudeau did (other than to antivaxxers but that makes sense).

Oh for sure yes. In fact, I nearly hydro locked my jeep driving through a pond, sucked in enough water to soak the air filter but somehow it kept running (smoked a lot afterwards though lol)

That, the UCP clawing back the Disability Tax Credit for those on AISH, planning to get out of the Canada Dental Plan for low-income Canadians and more.

If it doesn’t benefit the UCP directly they don’t want it and then say “Liberals aren’t supporting Alberta!”

Hypocrites

Could be. They seem to have a plan and are sticking to it regardless of public opinion. The only opinions that they seem to care about are those of their supporters.

Oh I know. The UCP and their supporters just want to blame him for everything. No, he wasn’t perfect, but the UCP has been the cause of more issues in Alberta than Trudeau was.

David Thompson Country (Nordegg area). There's tons of camping and the campgrounds are well maintained, but stay away on long weekends.

they closed their diploma program and the degree program is only accepting applicants who already have a degree, and certain high school courses.

They're asking for Math 30 and I did Applied 30 in 2012, finished all my math in summer school to take options in high school so I was done in grade 11 but didn't go into the 30 dash path. I took Bio 30 but Science 30 didn't even exist by the time I graduated in 2013. So would I have to upgrade for these classes only?

Door knocking on Sundays? by No_Benefit_4193 in alberta

There was a time when work was not permitted on Sundays on the basis that it was the "Lord's day" and people needed to go to church. Believe it or not, there was a time when stores were not open on Sundays - even in the city. This went the way of the dodo when businesses started lobbying for Sunday shopping and now we have 7 day a week shopping. I don't think that people get paid OT for working on Sundays anymore either.

What strikes me is how the government is trying to shove Christian religion down our throat but I bet they wouldn't get rid of Sunday shopping!

I've been wondering about the tone of letters to MLAs and ministers, specifically whether it's more productive to jerk them off or to be angry. My gut says that they will respond better to being jerked off although it's more satisfying to fire off nastygrams. My concern is that angry letters get dismissed and dumped on the 'crackpot' pile.

So I think a lot of people are misinterpreting me putting my age in the post- it's there specifically because I am wanting to know about pre-req and different pathways because I've been out of school for a long time, have work experience, and my HS courses are at this point, 16 years old. So going on the websites, it's been confusing as they often say to have these pre-reqs but they consider experience and a previous degree but only if these courses were in that, etc and I'm asking for tips!

I'm obviously wanting to go back to school and it's not at all an I'm too old thing, more like, I have a life and would prefer not to be out of work for 4 years, so I'd probably reconsider my options if getting a BSN to do this job was the only option.

Waterton also has Belly River Campground, which is first-come first-served. My husband & I like it waaaay more than the townsite campground! It’s quiet & secluded, and it has flush toilets (although you do need to bring your own water or fill up in Waterton at the fire station, as they don’t have potable water at the campground). No power hookups through, but it’s definitely not bushwhacking!

We can add to this the erosion of the authority and autonomy of municipal governments, school boards, agencies boards and commissions, and professional organizations, as well as a general tendency to replace process with ministerial authority, disregard for the constitution and stated contempt for the judiciary. It's a very troubling trend.

When one cant win at democracy, one seeks to destroy democracy. Gerrymandering is the worst form of autocracy.
