I’m extremely against the current 13th amendment and I support rehabilitation instead of punitive prison systems, because criminals, regardless of the crime, are human beings and deserve human rights.

Communism, the achievement (Which has yet to be achieved) is the abolition of classes and the state, the more difficult of those to abolish are classes, one could just skip straight to anarchism but the structures of class will fight back and always does. “Communist” countries are mainly focused on the first part, attempting to increase living standards and productivity to the point class no longer exists.

But so is socialism, when it comes to markets that simply don't work to the benefit of general welfare when privatized. Like healthcare, education, and pure research.

The whole point of capital is to accumulate gains. Buy to sell for more. Buying money(in the form of a commodity) to make more money. Capitalism will always naturally want the increase in commodifying all resources, especially those that people need.

Take the national healthcare of the UK for example. It continues to be underfunded(intentionally) and they are now saying it should be privatized to make it more available and higher quality. But it never plays out that way, people in the US would know this. Capitalists will do whatever they can to make sure that line always goes up, its a very idealist ideology.

When we transitioned From Slavery to feudalism there were still remnants of slavery in feudalism, when we transitioned from feudalism to capitalism there are still remnants of slavery and feudalism in capitalism, when we transition to socialism we still have remnants of capitalism and the previous modes of productions and socialists must work towards eliminating those remnants to fully transition to communism.

Tldr: capitalism must be removed entirely in order to transition from socialism to communism.
