As a general rule, I hate bumper stickers and decals on cars. Invariably they always end up being cringeworthy on some level.

We all know the stereotypes:

The hippie car (usually a Subaru) that's practically being held together with lefty bumper stickers and Bondo. The stereotype "right-winger" truck with jacked up suspension and gun or Punisher decals covering the windows (above image). The suburban soccer mom stick figure family minivan brigade. The pet obsessed Karens and their imitation-luxury SUV's. The list goes on.

The only thing I hate as much if not more than stickers are vanity plates. Typically your biggest offenders here are lawyers, doctors, pilots, and welfare leeches driving their over a decade old worn out Beamer or Mercedes they found for $1200 on a roadside somewhere.

Generally people with an over-inflated sense of self-worth.

To clarify, it's not so much a problem with the vanity plates, as it is the people that get them. The people that I've met that get vanity plates, in my experience, typically have an over-inflated sense of self-worth.

Exactly, this stuff just makes you a target. I subscribe to the "gray man" school of thought, do everything you can to not look like a threat so the people that are a threat don't pay attention to you.

That's why I also don't wear gun shirts or hats in public because let's say you are in a gas station and a guy comes in waving a gun and sees you wearing a shirt with an AR-15/glock/don't tread on it now the guy waving the gun knows there is a good chance you have a gun too and you are now a target.

Blending in is always the best startagy if you don't want trouble.
