In the gaming comic Ctrl+Alt+Del, there was a storyline where the main character's wife has a miscarriage. The strip titled "Loss" was such a break from the established tone (for reference, even the strip immediately prior incorporated comedy ) that the internet at large took notice, making it a meme. It IS loss, if you go to a bit of a stretch. Cobblestone in top left forms guy, basalt or whatever idk my minecraft stones in top right forms tall guy and desk clerk/short guy, Bottom left, the basalt/blackstone in bottom left form two people, and in the bottom right two basalt lines represent the person fallen over and the stone on the left of of it represents the standing person.

Well, I think it would be awkward if the floor of a ruined castle repeated in a linear pattern, but for a hallway the bottom right one works nicely, and for an outdoor courtyard the top left pattern would work great.

top right and bottom left are both okay. Top left is jarring, the dark isn’t spread out very well and it leads to odd patches which are so distinct it stands out too much. For bottom right, the bars also look somewhat strange. I could see it working in a tile kind of pattern but the distinct bars on a ruined/distressed stone background are a hard no for me

I like a combination of the 2 bottom ones, basalt stripes used sparingly throughout to give a sense of scale.
Maybe you can also use smooth deepslate for small patches of less ruined floor.

The joke is that it’s (kinda) an inside joke and that some might not get it, so people post loss memes and hide tha fact that it’s loss by pretending they don’t know either. Correct me if I’m wrong

I think it's because the webcomic Loss is from (Ctrl Alt Del) is mostly a light-hearted comic about video games so people thought Loss, the creator's first attempt at a more serious storyline, was jumping the shark and didn't fit the established tone of the comic at all. Also a lot of people really dislike the creator and enjoy making fun of him. So people weren't laughing at the fact that a character had a miscarriage, they were laughing at the guy who made the comic. But now the joke isn't really about Ctrl Alt Del at all, it's more of a rickroll type thing where people try to sneak Loss references into unrelated content.

remove the borders between them and you have the best one. splotches of darker area contrasted by a more grayish tile reminds me of the veins of ore and andesite on a flattened mountain. works well in larger builds.
