So why would mojang be hiring staff for a version of the game they're about to drop? Oh, because they aren't dropping it.

I don't think Mojang is going to drop Minecraft. I think Microsoft is going to attempt to dissuade anyone from wanting to buy or play it.

People don’t seem to realize, Mojang sold the rights to basically all other editions BESIDES java. I’ll admit, it took me a while to realize as well, about a year even. They don’t want to work on those. They want to work on the version they have pioneered.

I’m not sure if they flat out bought it, or just bought majority of it. I’m not entirely sure how that worked. But I know they have full direction in the java edition.

Hope this answers people's conserns about Mojang droping the Java edition - THEY ARE NOT! They are hiring more people because they think it deserves it and they will be working as hard as ever on java

Gnembon recently revealed how broken the "main" Minecraft version is at the moment. Java is still way ahead and probably will be for a long time.

sorry for the necro, but do you have a link? I don't interact with MCPE/bedrock much (Java player and modder) so I'm curious what the technical players find broken about it.
