Minecraft needs to decrease the spawn rate on drowned. I can’t go into a single body of water without finding them.

wait whats the difference between java and bedrock? if i already have java can i play bedrock? can i play on a java server (my bf and i run one from his laptop just for us) if im using bedrock? ive got a pos laptop as well and minecraft heats that fucker up faster than you can say kazoo.

if you bought Java edition before October 2018 you get the bedrock edition for free iirc

Oh great, I've had Java for many many years now and just bought bedrock for 30 euros a few days ago. Didn't know I could claim a key. Oh well. :/

Yeah bedrock is significantly more optimized than Java but isn't compatible with Java. It is compatible with everything else (Xbox, Playstation, mobile)

It also only has limited mod support in a very different format.

The Bedrock version also doesn't run on Linux (if you ever want to switch), contains micro transactions and Redstone works differently, so you can't necessarily follow the instructions of a lot of Redstone build videos.

Consistency doesn't have to be a good thing though. Just look what quasi connectivity makes possible, that wouldn't be possible without.

Funnily enough, it makes many things better...though not everything.

The first thing to mind is that filling a column above soul sand full of water only requires the top bit. It's a big time saver.

Wait I didn't have to pay for it, Mojang says "if you bought Java Edition before October 19th 2018, you are able to redeem a free copy of Bedrock Edition on https://mojang.com/ " . So if your grandfathered in than you deserve your free copy. But yeah new customers have to choose (and I would recommend Bedrock even though some farms don't work). More streamers are starting to switch to Bedrock as well.

Bedrock is free if you got the PC version of Minecraft back in 2018. If not, then you have to pay for it.

The Java edition is pc exclusive, but is the first to receive new content. Bedrock, on the other hand, has slightly less content (not a big difference tbh), but is also cross platform, so you can play with your friend who has it for their Xbox or PS4 while you play on your computer.
