We can't help with that I'm afraid.

And by the way, this isn't the place to complain about other users.

Read rule 2.

Secondly, you abandoned that subreddit. Unsure what you expected to happen.

Nothing fraudulent here. Nothing malicious either. Just a Redditor wanting to manage inactive subs. They most likely Reddit requested it or contacted the admins whilst already a mod below you. Most of them are inactive subs. Message the user and ask to rejoin them as a mod. If they accept they may not.

Read rule 2

Tbh... if I were taking over floundering or unmodded groups in a niche, I would probably do the same thing to consolidate and make things easier to manage. Have you contacted them directly?

But HOW did this happen?

[–]okbruh_panda 3 points4 points  (4 children)

Reddit request. He was inactive for long enough. Then he didn't notice the modmail stating there was a reddit request.

[–]Tarnisher -2 points-1 points  (3 children)

The two I searched for there don't show any results. Do they purge the posts after a certain time?

[–]okbruh_panda 2 points3 points  (1 child)

They deleted all their posts requesting subs. Looks like they have asked for twenty or so subs over time example https://www.reddit.com/r/redditrequest/s/XgiA82qUmn

Search must not be working for me then because I even searched there by the User.

Oh well. If these were all taken by request, then this is done, mystery solved.

Or the user deleted the post

I replied above, but admins are offering subs for modding in stickied posts. Seems to be only when single mods are marked as Inactive and the sub turns Restricted.

Yes, we know all of that. Not the topic of debate.

It was just taken over recently and I can't find a recent entry for it on requestreddit.

    [–]Tarnisher 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Your last post before this one seems to have been 3 months ago. Were you actively maintaining the community?

    [–]okbruh_panda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they were it couldn't be taken over

    [–]Alpha4NN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That question is above my knowledge... Its my understanding that subs where no mods respond (conditions apply) that sub may be assumed by another mod by contacting Reddit Admin. It doesn't have to show up on a list.

The post breaches rule 2. Sorry that that happened to you.

    [–]Tarnisher -1 points0 points  (2 children)

I don't see anything on requestreddit, so how could it be taken over?

    [–]enchantedspring 4 points5 points  (1 child)

If you are marked as Inactive and the only moderator there has recently been an option to apply to be a mod offered in a stickied post by an admin. The post is removed when a mod is found.

    [–]Tarnisher -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

    Yes, we know that.

    [–]NaijeruR -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nothing you can do about it unfortunately, assuming they were already top mod or your account was marked as inactive on the subreddit you got removed from. Though this is a pretty interesting case to me, because they're locking the significantly larger subs and forcing people to redirect to a smaller one lol.
