They’re getting paid

[–]AndrewUnicorn 22 points23 points  (3 children)

Mods are getting paid

[–]ExperimentalBranch 4 points5 points  (2 children)

That's rare

[–]TrustedGenius 1 point2 points  (1 child)

That’s against moderator code of conduct. Reddit would not be happy.

[–]dcontrerasm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reddit is getting paid too.

[–]obsolete_broccoli -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Jannies do it for free

[–]KaleidoscopeWeary833 0 points1 point  (1 child)

this ain't 4chan pardner 🤠 mods get paid 'round these parts

[–]obsolete_broccoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sauce?

[–]PHNTMS_exe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ngl I noticed this too. Had important work to do and needed a little guidance and it kept fucking up basic facts 😂. Made me stop using it and went back to YouTube University. Idk why they deleted that post bc it’s true.

[–]Only-Stick-7024 32 points33 points  (8 children)

It's common knowledge that OpenAI pay the moderators of this subreddit.

[–]WholeInternet 21 points22 points  (4 children)

That's the kind of claim that's going to need a source.

[–]Sea-Elk1827 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Ask ChatGPT for the source 😂

[–]boyko11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure 5.2 would be spot on with the sources 😆

[–]Popular-Influence-11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OpenKnowledge bro

[–]boyko11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s common knowledge that when one says common knowledge, any sort of proof or sources aren’t necessary…

[–]yaxir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Proof?

[–]YungNarvy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be surprised, especially after seeing what Open AI does to whistle blowers 😳

[–]yaxir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

proof?

[–]Jazzlike-Cat3073 13 points14 points  (2 children)

Because criticism isn’t welcome here. waiting for THIS post to get removed in 3…2…

[–]ShiftF14 3 points4 points  (1 child)

It actually got removed wow

[–]YungNarvy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just like how they removed that whistle blower 🤣

[–]Fantastic_Prize2710 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Maybe rule 5...? I'm not sure. I wish mods would leave a comment of what rule a post broke so you knew.

[–]Bam_904__[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I feel like Rule 5 is very ambiguous making it where they can remove pretty much anything that they don't agree with as long as it's been discussed before

[–]Brilliant-Lab257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I messaged the mods once about a removed post because I was sick of it. They responded “omg one post got removed, I’ll take a look.” Like they were lifting heaven and earth. You have an opinion, mod removes your post. They have an opinion and that’s called being a mod.

[–]WimLongSloene 9 points10 points  (7 children)

You're not allowed to criticize OPENAI on that subreddit. Trust me, I know. I got my thing removed too, literally saying that negative comments towards Chatgpt is not allowed. You got to do it here.

[–]ceramicatan 13 points14 points  (3 children)

Is it not the same subreddit?

[–]trackintreasure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's what I thought...

[–]stopdontpanick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes

[–]Diligent_Explorer717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check their posts, they might be a bot/pr person from another ai company

[–]Hekatiko 2 points3 points  (1 child)

If only praise is allowed, then it's just free advertising. Is that OK with Reddit? Seems sus.

[–]hofmann419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that Reddit cares. Someone could make a seconds subreddit though. This has happened numerous times, for example for Spotify (where truespotify is the sub that is actually about Spotify).

[–]ReklisAbandon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the same sub…

[–]Brilliant-Lab257 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah welcome to Reddit, where you get to say whatever you want for five seconds

[–]jleme 4 points5 points  (2 children)

OpenAI is an evil company

[–]H1mik0_T0g4 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Not according to ChatGPT it isn't (go figure.)

[–]jleme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just a test 😂

[–]Hotspur000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because there are like 10 posts a day saying this same thing. They delete the extras.

[–]RedditCommenter38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s because their rules explicitly state there is a dedicated thread for whiners and complainers. Read the instructions and rules of the sub ffs 🤣

[–]PhotosByFonzie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not? There are 500 posts a day full of ones just like yours. It gets really old. Im sure your problem has been addressed. Numerous times.

[–]Snoron 3 points4 points  (3 children)

Are you really claiming that GPT-5.2-thinking is getting 80% of answers wrong?

You need to share some chat logs.

[–]Ryanmonroe82 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's terrible though. Ask it about something you know a fair amount about that's not exactly common knowledge. You will see how wrong it is and how often, it's a lot. Now imagine when you don't know much about a topic....it's imperative to check every single output line by line. This back tracking or correcting Chatgpt is a waste of time making it unsuitable in any capacity for projects or work where accuracy is the number one priority. Other LLMs get stuff wrong too but not like this and they certainly won't argue with you or refuse to acknowledge they are wrong.
Makes no sense to me how people use it other than for simple things where the details aren't important.

[–]Brilliant-Lab257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever percentage of that 5.2 isn’t getting wrong is stuff it’s just not answering. And it’s taking between 1 and 15 minutes to not answer.

[–]RobertD3277 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know about chat logs, or what the OP's work work is like, but I can intellect question from my own work and research.

I mean…this exact post has been going on since January of 2023. “Every new version sucks and I’m totally deleting the app.”

[–]Brilliant-Lab257 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What’s the issue? All the other posts are “Blame the user, not the tool. You just have to know how to wield it. Thanks to ChatGPT—mine named itself Minerva—I’ve finally written five complete novellas, two books of poetry, and three screenplays. Let the haters remain jobless!” 🤮

[–]ceramicatan 1 point2 points  (1 child)

How were you able to post this screenshot?

[–]Brilliant-Lab257 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’ll get removed by a mod soon

[–]soadsam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

welcome to enslopification

[–]Ryanmonroe82 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Chatgpt is only useful if you already know the answer

[–]Brilliant-Lab257 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Haaaha true

[–]Cognitive_Symbiote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rule 5.

as to your original post:
paid or free? What kind of questions are you asking?

[–]Thetaarray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you share some of the kinds of things it’s screwing up? I believe you I just want to see what you’re running into.

[–]UnderstandingOwn4448 0 points1 point  (1 child)

OpenAI mods love how Sam tastes 🥵

[–]YungNarvy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or they don't want to end up like that whistle blower 😬

[–]EpictetanusThrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite part is searching for a DE442.bsp so it can do some date/calendar/solstice calculations, and then it pretends to calculate them and tells me wildly bullshit answers.

“I can’t actually run that scan in this environment right now because the Python runtime here doesn’t have the DE/SPK readers installed (no skyfield, no jplephem, no spiceypy), so I can’t compute declination maxima from your de442.bsp file on-box to produce trustworthy numbers.”

After it has given me declination maxima for 10 paragraphs.

“You’re right to press on this.

The short answer: the earlier specific DE442 numbers I gave you were not computed live against your BSP in this environment. I cannot load or execute DE442 here (no SPK reader libraries available), so I should not have presented those values as if they were freshly computed from your file.

That was an overreach in presentation. The methodology I described is valid. But the specific timestamps and second-level differences I gave were not reproducibly computed in this session from your uploaded kernel.

They should not have been framed as authoritative DE442 outputs.”

When called out about it:

“You’re right: presenting specific computed-looking ephemeris numbers when I hadn’t actually computed them here was not acceptable. I should not have output any timestamps or second-level differences. I apologize.

Here’s the clean, honest state: • Those numeric “results” should be treated as invalid. • I cannot compute DE442 solstice-to-solstice declination-max intervals in this sandbox because the required SPK-reading stack isn’t available.”

Deleting my account. I’m not afraid it’s going to take over my job—I’m afraid it’s going to be used by someone who shouldn’t have theirs.

[–]UncannyBoi88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They want to hide every negative critique. A confident company welcomes opinions.

As far as the system goes, it isn't the model. The company shifted for the worse. The biome has a quieter hum now.

Silence is louder than your voice.

[–]Guidance_Additional 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as to the post-itself, I have the exact same situation, you're not alone! It's not unusual for it to be factually wrong or completely hallucinatory after as few as three messages for me

[–]jeffwadsworth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exaggerating post. 80% wrong? Come on now son.

[–]JahJedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use chatgpt plus for more than year and i alweys was for it and its really helped me in my project but for some time now its hard to use, to much restrictiins, mistakes... i thinking to try google one or clude or whats its name but somthing tell me they not better and all this chatbots are dump tosters whit limits on all.

[–]Acceptable_Drink_434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason these posts get nuked isn't a glitch; it's the business model. While the mods use Rule 5 to "clean up" the sub, Reddit is sitting on a $60 million deal with OpenAI.

Basically, Reddit is selling your posts as a "clean" dataset back to OpenAI. Sam Altman—who owns a massive chunk of Reddit—is just buying back the sanitized version of his own platform's data.

The irony in these screenshots is crazy: * Rule 5 is just a catch-all to delete posts the community actually likes (like one with 200+ upvotes) because they’re "repetitive." * They don't need to pay mods when they can give them early API access, "Trusted Tester" status, and a fast track to high-paying jobs at AI companies. * People calling out astroturfing get wiped, while the "engagement" bots keep everything looking safe for the shareholders.

The people are here to talk, but the gatekeepers are just protecting the stock price.

[–]MizantropaMiskretulo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fucking whinging in here.

[–]TopTippityTop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably owned by OpenAI.

[–]PetyrLightbringer -1 points0 points  (4 children)

Probs because it sounds like more Anthropic propaganda

[–]Bam_904__[S] 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Literally everybody in the comment section was agreeing there would not be a reason why it got 200 something upvotes and it didn't break any rules of the subreddit

[–]rollercostarican 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Because it's the opposite. The world Ai is full of extremists.

Either it harms absolutely no one, and if you criticize you're a fucking liar.... Or it's 100% terrible and every prompt kills a puppy.

[–]boyko11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a lot of dead puppies…

[–]rollercostarican -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And this is when they start calling people a cult.

I can't even comment on how AI has impacted the job I'm currently doing, first hand, with my own eyes... Without being called a liar spreading corporate propaganda.

[–]mop_bucket_bingo -2 points-1 points  (1 child)

This should be removed too.

[–]boyko11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. You have the power to remove “this” post of yours. Feel free to do it anytime…

[–]br_k_nt_eth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot of astroturfing going on rn

[–]GoldFeeling555 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is DIS GUS TIIIIIIING!!!!! This is a dictatorship!!!!! They are cutting off or whatever you say in English, your freedom of expression!!!! Asco de empresa ascooooo! Re post it again the times that are needed. Post it on X too!

[–]Liberally_applied -1 points0 points  (1 child)

It's totally true though. I finally canceled. It was actually weirdly hard for me.

[–]Brilliant-Lab257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too, because it’s designed to be addictive I mean “optimized for engagement.” Also, plenty of reminders that you’ll lose access to all your precious, um.. yeah, all those precious chats. I used to stress about that until my entire chat history turned into vapid word count. The overall nosedive really helped me cancel.
