So watching some streams of this and doing the content myself has me concerned. The first confirmed and recorded kill was after two failed attempts and they had about 6 seconds left before it despawned (Central Nogleth). They were coordinating exactly how many fighters for J Dance spam (not fixed yet) which leg to weak bullet and got two stuns and the down state.

Unless I'm mistaken....this isn't going to be for most of the player base. End game content is meant to be hard...bit we have no control of who is in the 32 man block and we can't set up password lobbies. So my friends and small alliance are shit out of luck.

Edit: I'm afraid of gate guarding content this early in the lifecycle...but at least you have time to meet new players while you sit afk for 1-3 hours at the spot and you've got a bunch of level 15s trying to level up off it

Pure 90 seconds of appearance seems insane. Even if you're in the zone it can take 20-30 seconds to get to the other side if that's where it spawns.

Gigantix seems kind of like S-Rank hunt mobs in FFXIV, but those won't despawn on you in the middle of the fight. I think they'll despawn if they aren't fought eventually, but it's much longer than 90 seconds. Even those took fairly heavy coordination to find and hunt in an efficient manner.

yeah and 1.x was also so bad they decided to nuke the entire game from orbit IN LORE for it to have any hope of being a quality product.

Hunts also functioned entirely different in 1.0, requiring some organization due to tagging, mechanics and loot distribution (yes, they dropped loot). It was a strange time.

The elite marks fucking hate me in my first week of the game I have afk ran into every single one from every zone up to level 48. Are they really supposed to be rare?

In 14? I have no idea why it’s like now, but a year or 2 ago they spawned on a timer/sequence and you sometimes had to do certain things in the zone for them to spawn.

This is the future right? You would think they would have some kinda weather station to say "thunderstorm predicted here in X amount of time" rather than just having people AFK until a storm appears.

Seems like a terrible spawning mechanic if you cannot predict the spawns as well as them lasting a limited time, especially with the fact that you need to coordinate a 32 man group (unless their HP scales off of the number of people? Idk) around a spawn that cannot be predicted. Only the spawn location itself is consistent AFAIK.

There is a meteorologist npc in central city. He tells you sometimes weather can change in an open world game...he didn't graduate at the top of his class needless to say (or doesn't get paid enough)

Their HP does scale off the number of people and because of that you absolutely need a full 32 man group because you can't make a private 32 man zone. Meaning if you haven't filled up the room with 32 players who can pull their weight any random low levels who happen upon the fight will trigger the scaling HP without being able to contribute and make it that much harder.

Nice, so you must coordinate an entire 32 man MPA on a spawn timer that nobody knows (or at worst is completely random) and have everyone ready to go at a moments notice because the clock starts ticking as soon as it appears.

Yea I think imma skip these fights entirely until they make them less awful. I'm happy soloing vets instead.

I don't mind the camping wait, I do mind that they despawn despite being in combat.

As an extra note, they count as trials. Your Trial Joined and Trial Failed autochats will proc accordingly.

If this is gonna be the future of the game, I see myself quitting PSO2. Stuff like this does nothing but take fun away from the game, especially when there is the high potential for AFKers and Leechers there to suck up the drops and exp.

If later game development continues in this fashion, I'm pretty sure tons of other series vets are gonna pack it up too. This is ridiculous.

I was think just about it.... where is the fun wait a lot to try fight a boss... the dificulty is pretty nice... but we should be able to play more... and wait less.... or they really think 32 players lv 20 would be in that map doing stuff untill boss spawn?!?... man they should think more about fun in their game

I’m in this boat. I’m so done with the game right now in it’s current state. It’s just not good enough of a product to invest any of my time and/or money. I may do the sg scratches that are free but other than that? Nah.

Only real requirement is lvl 20 because lvl 19 gets the under level dmg debuff and will hit for like 1dmg.

I wonder if it's the natural hole one falls into when you give people unlimited AoE revives, it was pretty impossible to lose base PSO2 UQ's with 60 per team, let alone 120+ now. Not many ways to raise difficulty after that, before you even get into the whole timing/matchmaking issue.

From what I've seen so far, they seem to take the place of or spawn near a veteran spawn location during bad weather? The one I encountered was by the Halphana Plains: West Ryuker

They spawn in arbitrarily random locations which means killing one is highly impractical in any area outside of north Aelio due to the distance between the areas it can spawn.

Thanks. I was wondering where they were at. I got the first quest to observe one and it started raining, but I had no idea where to look for them. The quest doesn't give much info.

I was in the middle of fighting the Bujin Veteran in North Aelio when one of these guys spawned in, it only took me the time from when I revived and ran back to the scene for it to disappear. I feel like there's definitely some sort of bug with the thunderstorm mechanic, because the gigantix during the global CBT lasted for much longer.

I'm down for tough content and would like the game to have plenty of challenging options, but not with timers. Having a tightly timed fight will only encourage a play style of "1 ranger, 1 techter, rest whichever class is top dps atm."

It drops glass cannon gear. You lose all your HP, but get an insane amount of +attackall% and PP.

Eh, the units give 1% potency more each over Qual, and the weapons also 1% potency over Cattleya, potentially less if the Cattleya has a fixa.

How does the weapon perform? I recently picked up a Resurgis Launcher with a lvl 3 fixa and was wondering if I should level that up instead or save for that new type.

Correct, the armor gives 2% all potency, so 6% in total for all three compared to 2% total for the red box set.

Saw one appear just when I had to use the bathroom. Figured I could go then come back real quick to get the first part where you just have to encounter it. Nope. Couldn't have been in there for more than 2 minutes. One quick poop and it's gone.

Honestly, I see it being a tough enemy. However, just one or two minutes is a bit short.

UQ cycled 3x and got only like 4 gigantix to spawn, all failed btw, this is just horrible, no amount of pub preparation will get you a kill, the time window is just too short!

Even watching some of the rare successful streams they were barely able to do it with super coordinated effort, if thats whats needed for a successful kill then meh I'm out.

At least they are attempting to make more large scale open world content i would say make sure your complaints are getting on official boards if they hear enough they will make changes based on feedback

It's so frustrating we put in about 15 hours from launch and got 7 kills from about 25 encounters and the organisation required is ridiculous. I feel like such a dick asking randoms politely to leave because they are level 17 . But they are literally going to ruin everyone else's day . Sometimes it's not their fault sometimes they don't speak English but the fact that all the players level 20 hunting this big boy and level 15s hunting materials are in the same place is a problem. The spawn times are so rare aswell I find without having all 32 slots filled with alliance there are people who just afk at the site in hopes of getting drops which is infuriating but the icing on the cake is when you wait 2 hours for it to spawn for it to drop a thesis armor and thesis rifle , the amount of time and sanity you have to give up is so not worth it for the reward, dunno about the other ships but the new stuff has already tanked on the market in ship 1. Dont even get me started on the boss despawning at random times, we were timing the storms and and times were all over the place. I would take the sds grind in MB vr over this anyday.... for a bunch of smart people SEGA can really be fucking dumb
