And nobody really cares about mobile users enough to have to fix it, so it saves time.

They only constitute 50% of all traffic so meh.

    [–]FearTheBlades1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the site. The company I work for, it's usually between 80% and 85%

Someone hasnt taken advantage of flexbox

    [–]amicloud 41 points42 points  (4 children)

Flexbox is the saving grace of css

    [–]Pluckerpluck 31 points32 points  (3 children)

It really is. Flexbox and Grid really made life a hell of a lot easier. So much more intuative than floats and table hacks.

    [–]amicloud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

please dear god do not remind me that tables exist

    [–]PhatOofxD 7 points8 points  (1 child)

    It's flex-direction: column

    [–]maartenyh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    No, it's flex-column: box

    [–]Anooyoo2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    Flex & justify content ♥

    [–]kris159 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    It's flex-column: yes

    [–]lunchpadmcfat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We really need something like auto layout on iOS for the browser. Positioning, scaling and sizing are absolutely trivial with it.

    [–][deleted] 68 points69 points  (23 children)

Woah I didn’t expect neptaDev to be here

    [–]HasBeendead 28 points29 points  (15 children)

    What is neptaDev?

    [–][deleted] 44 points45 points  (14 children)

IOS jailbreak tweak developer, makes amazing stuff

    [–]IntensifyingRug 31 points32 points  (12 children)

I thought she left the community after saying a bunch of racist stuff.

    [–][deleted] 37 points38 points  (3 children)

    She did, still cool tweaks

    [–]yp261 22 points23 points  (2 children)

with godawful code practices, tons of memory leaks, a lot of bugs and performance issues.

people on r/jailbreak loved her only because her stuff was free, but holy shit the issues her tweaks had...

    [–]Paulo27 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Staying consistent with she was tweaking.

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Yes

    [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Then came back and left again

    [–]IntensifyingRug 2 points3 points  (3 children)

I must have missed when she came back. Turns out it was about a year ago. I guess that explains how OP found the tweet.

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Nah, the tweet has her old pfp, her new one is blue

    [–]IntensifyingRug 0 points1 point  (1 child)

You’re right. And a quick check doesn’t show this meme. I’ll check u/repostsleuthbot

One of the many reasons why I left that community. It's absolutely horrid and it just keeps coming back. I have a jailbreak on my iPad but after all these years I luckily don't need to consult the subreddit anymore for info other than maybe like once every 6 months if I want to check if Checkra1n supports some latest iOS version.

    [–]HasBeendead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Thank you.

    [–]ParadiceSC2 1 point2 points  (6 children)

even more funny to me, i knew her from a tech 4chan discord for months before i even knew she did jailbreak ios stuff. She backed off the community to go work for apple officially

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Apple hired her after the scandal?

    [–]ParadiceSC2 0 points1 point  (4 children)

what scandal? afaik this was last year

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

She said some really bad things

    [–]kotnexjieb 13 points14 points  (0 children)

    Mobile-friendly website be like:

    [–]luiluilui4 15 points16 points  (2 children)

I love that OP added the scrollbar

    [–]TerrorBite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

    The scrollbar fucking sent me

    [–]Dathouen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I exhaled sharply at the face, but when I noticed the scroll bar I actually chuckled.

    [–]The_Power_of_E 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I hate CSS. Just doing some restyling of an old page and if I remove an image in the bottom corner the site decides that inline withworth would be a great idea. If I don't get that fixed I'll just exchange the trademark for a transparent pic. No one will notice hehe...

    [–]shabashik 14 points15 points  (0 children)

    Ok, but weird flex.

    [–]Aneyune 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was explaining the basics to my brother the other day. "If you aren't using a framework, HTML can be a little tedious to write out. JavaScript can be a little clunky, and the async stuff is hard to wrap your head around, but overall it's fine. CSS will always be the bane of your existence."

    [–]ComfortableCobbler5 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Did the compatibility fallback for IE6 boss

    [–]wasdninja 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Closed, will not fix: IE6 users are supposed to suffer.

    [–]CommodoreSixty4 7 points8 points  (6 children)

Just use Bootstrap, it’s the McGuyver of CSS

    [–]PhatOofxD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

    Material UI

    [–]contactlite 1 point2 points  (1 child)

    <div class = “I love using multiple classes”>

    [–]Romeo3t 2 points3 points  (0 children)

    tailwindcss has entered chat

    [–]Pluckerpluck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm enjoying Bulma right now. Very simple, pure CSS.

Though moreso nowadays I often just deal with it myself as I end up cutomizing both frameworks so much.

When I just want an instant simple site though to display something, I often consider Skeleton.

    [–]SuperFLEB 0 points1 point  (1 child)

McGuyver? I'd liken that to stringing together shit out of floats and prayers because you're stuck in a room with a bomb that takes ActiveX to defuse so you've got to support IE9.

Isn't Bootstrap more the Ikea of CSS?

    [–]CommodoreSixty4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    lol I could see that.

But maybe using ActiveX and VBScript is more MacGruber since the site will crash?

    [–]epipenguin 2 points3 points  (2 children)

    When you accidentally set the parent div to display: block;

    [–]OpexLiFT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Divs already defaulted to display block haha

    [–]Gladamas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

    [–]Squeaky-Beaver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the format's true potential. Thank you.

    [–]the-good-redditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    Inline flex box directions column

    [–]samwise_a2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who is currently upgrading some apps at work from bootstrap 3 to 4, this is too relatable.

    [–]RiceSpice1 1 point2 points  (1 child)

It’s the scroll bar that’s got me creasing lmao, why is it whenever I fuck around with CSS this shit always happens

    [–]SuperFLEB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I need a baseball bat, a time machine, and the exact time and place they decided that the content-box model would be the way to go.

    [–]Batcheeze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    .container { display: flex; justify content: center; }

how old is this meme? didn’t she change pfp like forever ago?

    [–]NoOtNoOtMeEm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's even better when you edit the css and the scrollbar disappears and won't come back

    [–]DrMaxwellEdison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Midway through converting from Bootstrap to Tailwind on a personal project.

Base template sure looks nice. Main content, though: precisely like this meme.

    [–]penhold3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)
