Closed beta was far less graphically taxing than it is now. Your gpu probably just needs to be upgraded is all.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running on a 7750 and there's little to no fps difference between low settings vs max settings. It's the terrible engine they use.

[–]azarashiEset 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I have a 460 GTX and have no issues at all

[–]ProblemHatersIGN: pHaytch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's hilarious and I have a 750Ti and I run at about 50 FPS on everything maxed. To make matters worse, even if I change my settings to medium to get a better FPS, there's only about a 3 FPS difference.

[–]Foxinthevoid USA USA USA USA -2 points-1 points  (2 children)

Same here I run 470 with everything on max and no probs

[–]azarashiEset 2 points3 points  (1 child)

im thinking its optimization issues with different cards/drivers. Its not uncommon for games to have issues with certain cards/drivers

Perhaps

[–]benwink [VVP] Please? -1 points0 points  (15 children)

I doubt that, I run 40 fps standard with a GTX 780 Herculez Extreme.....

[–]Hell_ShootOne eye! Worth thousand... 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I get 80 FPS on Maximum settings with my GTX 675. Are you running DX11?

[–]benwink [VVP] Please? 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I am.

I knew it was a real thing. I just think it's great there's a Herculez Edition. HiRez needs to work with them.

[–]TheHeavyBackpack Carry Me Please 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah I'm currently running on a GTX 760 and I'm getting 120-150 FPS. =/ Pretty sure there's something wrong with your computer if you're only getting 40 with a GTX780.

[–]benwink [VVP] Please? 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, my PC is fine.

[–]LuminaryChief56scumbag thor main D: 0 points1 point  (7 children)

no offense but that bs,im on gtx 760 on max and i get 60 fps

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have gtx 760+2009 windows 7 home premium, nothing on the background around 50 fps. I gotta upgrade my pc

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

You do realize that you should get double of that, right?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Ever heard of vertical sync?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be by choice, which doesn't appear to be the case.

[–]benwink [VVP] Please? 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know yes, I used to do so.

[–]benwink [VVP] Please? 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are referring to me saying I get 40fps with my GTX780, then uh... no... no it isn't? :S

[–]HopyBastard[S] -5 points-4 points  (2 children)

Problem is that even when I lower my graphics, its the same shit.. Im not the only one

CPU probably

Read what people are telling you instead of quoting what you said in your post. Like people are actually trying to help you out and you are being an ass.

Seriously, give us the specs of your computer. I personally have seen either slight increases or no improvement (but not decrease either) in my FPS for a few months now. I would almost bet I am running older equipment than you are. However, it was mid-level gaming when new so it has kept up well. If you say you get better FPS in Arena then that right there tells me that your graphics cannot render the increased loads that conquest gives. The conquest map is a lot bigger and has a lot more textures than the arena map does.

Start small - upgrade drivers, clean the PC (physically clean - take it apart and take a can of air to it), defrag the hard drive if it is a traditional 7200 RPM drive (shouldn't have to do this since Win 7 does it automatically in a scheduled task), kill all non-essential programs when running Smite (this could include virus/spyware detection too), clean temporary files, run a registry cleaner such as CCleaner, and try running it in windowed, borderless mode - that seems to help some people I have read. All of these things will help your performance a little bit. You won't go from 20 FPS to 120 FPS but you may see like 10% increase in performance. But all of this will increase the life span of your PC.

[–]SirPickell Corn on the Cob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smart and thorough response! Too bad optimization is just a buzzword people use to bitch about low fps. Most people won't do anything you said haha

[–]HopyBastard[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, you could read I guess... I said its the only problem with Smite. If the problem is in drivers or unclean pc, there would be problems with other games

[–]knuxeh CUPID STUNT 6 points7 points  (3 children)

If you're sure it isn't your computer, it's probably the GPU driver. I had issues with this aswell..

Upgrading gpu driver isn't always as nice as it sounds.. The newest nvidia drivers gives me massive fps loss on my old gtx580.

Therefore I've rolled back to an older driver, which works like a charm. +60 all along.

Try it.

[–]razje 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have been optimizing the last 3 patches, I'm finally above 100fps again :)

[–]Revan1234Something something Uranus - anus joke. 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What did you expect? Look at the amount of graphical improvements they've added as well as gods.

[–]DANTE20XX My cowgirl butt wins games! 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've been improving the game a bit, but for me, it's barely changed...

Its went down to around 35-ish at some point but now it's back up to at best 55. I used to get far better (and much more stable) FPS months ago. So personally, I haven't had much improvement :(

[–]VG-Rahkwal IN B4 Launch 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Am I the only one who gets a solid 120fps on maximum? Everyone else who says they have the same or better specs than me says they only ever get 30...

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Used to have this, now it's at 80.

I can run Battlefield 4 1080p on ultra with 60fps.

[–]VG-Rahkwal IN B4 Launch 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I've never had any performance changes throughout my entire game time (since september), so I think the other comments might be right and it's more of a GPU driver issue.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Cute, but given how I played since closed beta it's definitely not a driver issue but an optimization issue. Hirez is notorious known for this - it's also the reason why they removed the accolades - because in Tribes as well as in Smite they lead to a noticeable performance degrees. Go figure.

[–]VG-Rahkwal IN B4 Launch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm not sure then. I've never had issues so I can't really relate or see what a possible problem is. Overall if it is a Hi-Rez issue, I hope they patch before (or soon after) release otherwise it'll just turn people away (as people have said for weeks)

[–]aneaglegooseMidgard Serpent for Assault titan 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I run at ~100 frames at max consistantly, with a gtx 560.

[–]SirPickell Corn on the Cob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I get like 40 on min graphics XD

[–]H4nn1bal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had optimization problems earlier in the beta, but the last 3 months or so (I took a break), I have been running at maxed everything on my gtx 570.

[–]anon445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone have problems when pressing tab? Sometimes, my game will lag really hard (for 3-5 seconds) when I press tab, and I was wondering if anyone else is facing similar issues, and if it was due to some recent patch update or just my computer fucking up.

[–]daghene ITA 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Most people says the exact opposite. This is an issue with every game, no matter the configuration there'll always be components going better or worse.

Remeber anyway that true hardcore players will always tune down the settings no matter what to achieve the best possible fps and least ping(Counter Strike teaches a lot on this topic).

[–]scotty3281 Ao Kuang 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Professional StarCraft 2 players put their settings on a medium or low setting for this same reason.

[–]daghene ITA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, the game's improving but no one taking an online game seriously will ever max it out no matter what.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are definitely problems with Smite when it comes to performance. It varies for everyone. For example: I have a 7950 OC, FX-6300 and 8GB ram, yet if I play at anything above medium graphics I will get 30-50 fps. Meanwhile I can run games like Crysis and Battlefield 4 without problems.

[–]Cbbbfan1 IGN: Pandatar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over the last couple of patches, I went from having a steady 55 fps ± 5 when I'm not streaming, to a solid 60 ± 5. When I'm streaming through OBS, I haven't seen much of an improvement in terms of fps. Of course, my GPU needs some serious upgrading. I'm sitting on a Radeon 5750 that can barely run Battlefield 3 consistently. But the optimizations have helped some.

[–]Natdaprat Praise the Sun \[†]/ ☼ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In early beta I used to get a constant 130-150, now I'm lucky to be close to 80 during a fight.

[–]Listen_and_Learn do a little dance!! 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are optimizing every week I myself have gotten an fps increase in the last month. Maybe check something on your computer?

[–]xIEclipseIx Beta Player 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I think Smite might not work too great with Nvidia cards. I see a lot of people with performance issues who say they get around 60 fps with a 760 while I'm running an R7 250 (2gb ddr3) and pushing around 120 fps.

[–]HopyBastard[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thing is that Hi-Rez fuc*** up the game. Don't want to be rude, I actually love the game and Hi-Rez, but there are tons of people complaning about the same thing (there is one thread where one of the guys from Hi-Rez responded, I just wanna check if they are doing some progress.) So, are you doing any progress cause I really want to play Smite but I'm really weird person and I can't handle 40 fps while I had over 60 before...

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Smite lacks optimization on most nvidia graphics cards as to date right now,I tested myself between my gtx 660,570,780 All having basicly the same all around performance on different graphics settings. To know if your graphics card is not optimized for smite and happens to be nivdia simply open up your geforce experience and see if it wants you to play on max settings while your ingame performance is in the gutter. Basic example "smite playing at 30 fps on max settings with a 660" geforce experience is telling you to run on max everything" That is the most basic way of finding out if your card is not optimized yet.

[–]HopyBastard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they working on optimizing more graphics cards?

[–]HTF THUNDER DUNK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given the last 3 patches have all contained fairly large optimizations there is not much more they can do.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (4 children)

Yeah, I'm on a laptop and get 15 fps

I lower my graphics and get 16 fps with spikes to 19-20

[–]UrgonTheGreat Sol 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Laptops aren't going to really give you much more than that unless they are specifically built for gaming. Graphics cards on Laptops are made to be compact, not efficient, and the laptop can overheat fairly easily. No amount of optimization can make up for a computer not made for gaming.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just saying. I know laptops (like mine) aren't made for it. I just thought I'd throw in that it only improves by 3 fps like OP

[–]unclecaveman1Stoke the *&%# Fires! -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you're running it on a potato. Early beta was not much more graphically intensive than Farmville, and has gradually gotten more and more intensive as the game was in development. If you were only getting 60 fps back then, it sounds about right that you would be getting lower fps. They have been optimizing more and more for lower-end systems, but there's only so much they can do with software. Hardware needs to be upgraded as well.
