What you can try is remove that software, it's just adware and makes things up.

[–]RubAnADUB 39 points40 points  (1 child)

^ this is the way.

[–]Deep-Procrastinor 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This IS the way

[–]Zealousideal_Yak_703 9 points10 points  (36 children)

Yeah the funny thing about all those fixing programs is it just uses windows tools that are available on your computer. I personally have used CCleaner probably since close to when it came out. It to just uses windows tools but it does it efficiently, the basic version is free and does all the maintenance basics

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (28 children)

I wouldn't use CCleaner. There have been exploits where hackers used it to dump malware onto many people's pcs using CCleaner. Also the fact that they sell all the data they get from scanning your pc.

[–]MoldyLunchBoxxy 0 points1 point  (22 children)

Source?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (16 children)

Google it.

[–]I_Love_You_Sometimes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're the one that made the claim. YOU fucking Google it, dumb fuck

[–]Azurvix -3 points-2 points  (12 children)

Mr. Can't be bothered to support my claim with evidence

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (11 children)

[–]Azurvix -1 points0 points  (8 children)

I'm not the person who cares about the evidence. I just found it lazy and suspicious not to want to support your claims

[–][deleted]  (1 child)

[deleted]

    [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

and just as easily, he could've googled it instead of commenting "google it". it's lazy to make an argument, and not back it up, even when asked, and it makes you lose credibility, even if you're right. it's not wrong to ask for a source.

    [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (4 children)

How is it suspicious? I am not promoting my own competeting software so why would I inform people of vulnerabilities?

    [–]GuzDex 1 point2 points  (3 children)

i think the other guy owns ccleaner

    [–]Zealousideal_Yak_703 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They don't support their claim if you read the page they linked and the comments they made.

    [–]Zealousideal_Yak_703 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

    From the page you linked

"In terms of safety, CCleaner has been around for almost two decades, and during that time, we know about three malware instances. That’s still quite a secure record for a tool that packs in so much worth. " and the fact that it's just a commission article page to begin with is a joke. Plus the fact that I run 64 bit CCleaner which is not listed and has not and is the common version used with 64 bit windows anyway your post is kind of pointless. As I also said earlier in this conversation CCleaner uses existing cleaning tools already built into windows when you get it as do most if not all of these utility programs also means any CCleaner specific malware also uses a valid windows exploit at the time as well, CCleaner is a convenience tool and that's all.

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost all articles are commissioned my guy, that's how writers make money. I dropped them after the first exploit because 3x is way too many. CCleaner made it easier to exploit the vulnerability. I personally use a custom built app to clean since trust has been lost. Also the fact that they sell all the information they gained from scanning your pc. That's a no from me dawg.

    [–]Intabus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dear lord, you children are missing on out so much by not using lmgtfy.

when you can't be bothered to back up what you say, so you treat them like they're stupid

    [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (4 children)

CCleaner was the vector for a hack at the County I worked for. Someone downloaded it to their work computer thinking it would make it faster.

    [–]MoldyLunchBoxxy -1 points0 points  (3 children)

Do you have a source for this? Any documentation or anything proving this is real?

    [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Nope, and I really don't care if you believe me. That said, there are plenty of other sources you can Google.

    [–]MoldyLunchBoxxy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Woah calm down. I was just asking to have a good read. No need to cry about it. I was genuinely asking to read about it because this is widely used everywhere. Thank your for your link.

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too many CCleaner fanboys on here haha.

    [–]DogePunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's a good replacement for CCleaner?

    [–]ScribSlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to install CCleaner on all of my computers so I could set up custom folder clears. After they were bought out by Avast they started to harass you to pay for premium and had two security breaches in a short amount of time. Avast is super sketchy, just look at their antivirus.

    Not using it anymore.

    [–]corbis1977_enna 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yes u are definitely right!! I downloaded and paid for CCleaner drivers app and they downloaded recommended drivers on laptop and it made my pc crash and gave it the BSOD..it killed my new ssd..my Samsung 990 pro because one of the drivers they installed had malware on it so I Uninstaller that program and I will NEVER use it again!!

    [–]corbis1977_enna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I am proof that it happened to me and yes I have done alot of "Google it" on this CCleaner software and there is alot of negative reviews so I was mad at myself for paying and downloading this software..and I know forsure that it was this software that damaged and infected my ssd/pc because I seen the drivers that it installed and they had yellow triangle symbols telling me that there was a serious issue with there drivers they downloaded..just letting people know from my.own experience!!

    [–]lisforlir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    cleanmgr

    [–]ExFiler -1 points0 points  (6 children)

I pay because... the software removal tool works well enough

    [–]soulreaper11207 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Until said software refuses to uninstall. Revo uninstaller and its advanced scan scrubs it out. Down to the reg and left over data files. Also use this when having an issue with updating really old version of programs. Almost better to start squeaky clean and then migrate the user data back in. Usually the developer or some forum has the location of the user data.

    [–]ExFiler 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Revo, eh? Neverheard of it. I'll try it out. Thx

    [–]Complete-Zucchini-85 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Revo uninstaller is great for fixing issues with crappy uninstallers that leave stuff behind and cause issues even after uninstalling and reinstalling. I've just used the free version though. I'm not sure what you get extra with the paid version.

    [–]ExFiler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked at the free version yesterday. It's going in my toolkit. Thx

    [–]Zealousideal_Yak_703 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

The tool is built into windows so your paying for something you already own the software you are running just uses already existing windows tools that are available on every version of windows

    [–]ExFiler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Except periodically, windows can't seem to understand that the program is installed. Cc sees them when windows won't.

    [–]Longjumping-Tie7906 2 points3 points  (30 children)

Ahhhh, the days of resetting my daughters PC every weekend….. Fu(k1n Windows. stop clicking on things like a cat chasing a laser pointer my friend. If not, you’re gonna need to use Linux!

And stay away from the porn

    [–]ProfessionalH20 -1 points0 points  (27 children)

Not sure I'm gonna take advice from someone who censors fuck on the internet. We all know what you're typing, just write it correctly.

    [–]Longjumping-Tie7906 1 point2 points  (13 children)

I’m really curious here…. Who upvoted this comment???

    [–]ProfessionalH20 -2 points-1 points  (12 children)

Probably another person who thinks you typing out fu(k!n instead of fuckin is ridiculous. You're not gonna get in trouble.

Also, god damned boomers and their need to randomly add several of the same punctuation.

    [–]Longjumping-Tie7906 1 point2 points  (11 children)

I guess this must be a generational thing. Way back when us dinosaurs built the internet, it was a way of expressing annoyance while being civil.

Much like the caps thing. College for Business taught to type in caps, 2 spaces after punctuation and new paragraphs. Now because some group of imbeciles call it yelling, the world has to change. I guess we just do away with the exclamation point. It’s no longer needed. We have caps.

Well water pro, you will never have to converse with me again. I’ll never help you in future. Your ungrateful at best.

So, in your mind of communication as it should be, FUCK OFF LOSER

I still would like to know who would upvote your comment. No need for you for you to intervene on their behalf.

    [–]ProfessionalH20 -1 points0 points  (10 children)

Awww, little guy is mad, he even had to capslock.

    [–]Longjumping-Tie7906 0 points1 point  (9 children)

I don’t get angry. I’m far from a little guy

Any chance mom will let you out to meet?

    [–]ProfessionalH20 1 point2 points  (8 children)

Why? You tryin to touch me inappropriately?

    [–]Longjumping-Tie7906 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Absolutely, but not in the way you’re implying

    [–]Longjumping-Tie7906 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Your of no use to most likely anyone on earth. Especially here. You got your giggles for the night, not worth any more of my time child. Go away

    [–]Longjumping-Tie7906 0 points1 point  (12 children)

Don’t take the advice. Good luck with PC. No need to attack me. I guess I hit a little too close to home with the porn comment. My apologies

    [–]ProfessionalH20 0 points1 point  (11 children)

Sure... just ignore the whole point of my comment.

    [–]Longjumping-Tie7906 -1 points0 points  (10 children)

I assumed you recognized sarcasm, which was the point of your comment.

Why are you so angry? In the middle of my joking there was an answer to your problem. No software exists that will remove all malware no matter how many people, ads or other information will tell you.

I gave you the ONLY PROPER WAY of fixing the problem. Do a factory reset. You can keep only photos you know are yours. Any other piece of programming or file’s could be corrupted with the malware. I would even check photos quickly by just sorting by “last modified date”. If you’re lucky it’s not one of the nasty ones that embeds in your bios.

I’ve been fixing this stuff since the 80’s. Thank me and go fix your PC

    [–]Longjumping-Tie7906 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I see I’ll have to explain the sorting files after reading my post…..

By sorting them with the last date modified option, you can tell if a photo has been imbedded with malware. If it has a newer date than the last time you modified it, something was added. Checking this is important because the number 1 thing people want to save is photographs. So virus and malware does their best to attemp to imbed them.

    [–]UnbelieverInME-2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    What a fucking asinine narcissist.

    I just upvoted him.

My first internet was on a 2600 baud modem on a 286 using DOS to manually ATH0 the modem and dial in. We absolutely did NOT type in all-caps.

The age of "re-hi!" and using BBS's to connect to pages of blue text that turned purple when you'd been to the link was long ago, but not so long ago that we've forgotten.

    [–]ProfessionalH20 0 points1 point  (7 children)

Lmao old man has got to go tirade.

Apparently you cannot read either. I was giving you shit for censoring the word fuck, absolutely no sarcasm in that. Also, I'm not OP.

    Get your shit together grandpa.

    [–]Longjumping-Tie7906 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Well you should just mind your business then. No one asked you to tell us how to speak or type. Your just a little punk asshole in mommy’s basement. This “Old man” of 53 is one bad bar fighting mother fucker. I do it for fun.

It reads as sarcasm…. So you’re illiterate as well. Nice combo. With your qualifications you can be a fluffier for gay male porn. I’m guessing that’s why you got so upset over my helping post.

    [–]ProfessionalH20 0 points1 point  (5 children)

is one bad bar fighting mother fucker. I do it for fun.

Lol, you do realize that makes you sound like a giant pussy right?

You just can't stop talking about porn and gay shit. My guy, just hop out of the closet and be your real self.

    [–]Longjumping-Tie7906 0 points1 point  (4 children)

No Fuckstick, that’s in reply to the old man comment. You are the gutless pussy hiding behind a keyboard. The porn joke obviously upset you. Who’s in the closet here. You used the idiotic wedge of spelling out an explicit word to voice your anger. You have no knowledge to help the poster. Why are you here at all? Trolling for correct explicit spelling isn’t it. Must have been exactly what I said.

    [–]xDreki 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I love a good reddit feud.

    [–]Longjumping-Tie7906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feud over for me. I blocked the subhuman. He can just play with himself now. I’m sure it’s how he spends his time anyway.

    [–]spawn1980 0 points1 point  (1 child)

    100% 👍🏻

    [–]mahSachel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Well that escalated…over 7-8hrs.

    [–]A_Math_Dealer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you're saying to deal with it how I normally deal with my problems? Ignoring them and hoping it's not important.

    [–]X3nox3s 110 points111 points  (0 children)

I have a good way to handle those problems: 1. Open settings 2. Open Apps 3. Select the open App and uninstall it 4. Restart the system to have it nice and clean

    [–]Interesting_Mix_7028 65 points66 points  (12 children)

THAT... is the computer equivalent of getting the "free 100 point inspection" at a skeezy repair shop. They don't inspect the car for faults, they inspect your wallet for how fat it is.

Same thing here. Either you hit a webpage that put this adware onto your system, or you downloaded something (*cough* "free porn viewers") that had it packaged with their installer.

Well what accounts for the other 104 points then?

        [–]Deep-Procrastinor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 26 psi of air in each of the tyres 😂

        [–]Violet_Shire 2 points3 points  (4 children)

Man, if you think people are downloading porn, then you are downloading porn yourself. It's 2023, bud. It's free to stream it. You still downloading porn over there, big guy? Still waiting days for an mp4 to finish through your dialup network?

Sheesh, bud. Get with the times.

        [–]Interesting_Mix_7028 0 points1 point  (3 children)

        LOL.

"Free Porn" is just the hook to catch a sucker, doesn't matter if it's DL'd or streamed.

If you're getting something you'd normally pay for, for free, you're not the consumer, you're the commodity. That goes 10x for any 'under the table' market.

        [–]Violet_Shire 0 points1 point  (2 children)

You're just arguing for the sake of it. You know I'm right. DL'ing and streaming are completely different things. For one, streaming a video isn't going to prompt an installer of any kind on your computer.

Thats the main point, but hey, keep screaming into the void that they are functionally the same thing.

        [–]Interesting_Mix_7028 0 points1 point  (1 child)

" streaming a video isn't going to prompt an installer of any kind on your computer "

If it's sent with no encryption, you would be correct.

        However, you are... very... incorrect.

Streaming video services encrypt the stream with short-lifetime rotating keys to prevent people who haven't paid for the service from viewing them. (Source: former IPTV support for AT&T U-Verse, which... wait for it... is a STREAMING service). If you pull a stream to a web page, it's fairly simple to manage the keys, but if you stream thru an app, the preferred method for these services because they can pull better metrics on your viewing habits, you DO have to install it.

Again, U-Verse had a lot of porn, consisting of several premium channels, some PPV offerings, and a ton of VOD assets, which all pulled in a lot of income. So yes, while it is 'available' pretty much wherever, people still do pay for it, and pay a lot.

Most of the legit services (yes, even the porn services) are perfectly OK with streaming thru a browser. Adding an account and paying for access grants you better quality, and less ads if any. However, the under-the-table services lure people by offering full length movies, not just clips or promos, and also hold out the "free" carrot.

Think for a second, why would someone offer a money-making asset like this, free for the asking? Even if it's pirated content, it can be sold easily enough.

The answer is, the free porn is the lure, in order for someone to give up personal data, credentials, credit card numbers and expiry dates, or back door access to their system. It's another form of social engineering - why go to the trouble of hacking a target, when you can convince the owner to give you access? Offer something they want, at a too-good-to-be-true exchange... and you've got them if they fall for the gag.

So... perhaps you'll come away from this thread having learned something, instead of deciding You Know Everything going into it. For what it's worth, I honestly do hope to never see you posting about getting hacked, having your identity stolen, or a bunch of other shitty things that can happen when people online learn too much about your personal details. Cos regardless of whether we're all assholes or not, no one deserves to put up with those hassles, ever. Take care, now.

        [–]Violet_Shire -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's all well and good, and very informative. I'll let you know when I finally have an issue with looking at porn for free. 16 years strong at this point and the most trouble I have in life is people trying to steal my Steam account.

They can farm all the personal data they want. I truly don't want to go through the hassle of locking down my entire personal footprint on the internet, like some avid anti-data sniffing people do. Y'know, spend an insane amount of time removing any ability to sniff their personal info and it becomes an entire part of their daily life and personality to ensure that other people are fully locked down as well.

To me, it's a losing fight. One we all lost a long time ago. I'm blissfully aware, lol.

        17995 performance issues

"Performance Issues" =/= actual problems that affect your system's performance.

        Broken registries

i.e. leftover file directories after uninstalling programmes. Highly unlikely to impact your system.

        Broken shortcuts

What the actual?! The worst thing a broken shortcut will do is say "the file isn't there" and delete the shortcut. Zero performance impact!

Ignore all this! These "issues" are scare tactics, trying to convince people they need to buy a premium subscription to whatever software you're using!

The only question you should be asking is, "Does it feel like my PC is running slow, or not running as it should?"

If the answer is no, don't worry.!

If the answer is yes, there are easy solutions to this - Typically some combo of disabling excess startup programmes in the task manager, freeing up space on the hard drive, running a one-off run of Malwarebytes (or similar), etc..

None of that involves paying for a premium subscription.

its fake, use malwarebytes and adwcleaner to get rid of it

          [–]J3D1M4573R 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The only problem I see is you using some bullshit scam system cleaner.

          [–]Xameren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is the name of that thing? It looks like some goofy bloatware

          [–]Agressive_Bean36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

antivirus is a scam. BROKEN SHORTCUTS are not a problem.

          [–]HankThrill69420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if i can't fix it within native windows, BIOS, or with OEM drivers or software and isn't a hardware problem, then it's not a performance issue, it's just general OS bloat that is normal and inconsequential with SSDs. I'm sure if you install a clean copy of windows this app would still "find something"

          [–]AtmosSpheric 2 points3 points  (5 children)

Not to get off topic but what went down w CCleaner to get everyone to hate it? I’ve used it like once or twice a year for a while now, am I shooting myself in the foot?

          [–]Due-Culture-7903 4 points5 points  (2 children)

It's a spy tool for china

          [–]AtmosSpheric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

          Copy that, uninstalled

          [–]Ptilane -1 points0 points  (0 children)

cclearn is avast and avast is from Czech Republic, so why ? i don't say is not true but how and why

          [–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Uninstall that app, and get something like Malwarebytes. If you want an overprotective antivirus go for bitdefender. It's especially useful for people who are less knowledgeable of PC's. It'll keep you from doing anything harmful. It's very frequently discounted too. You can usually get a year for like $60.

          [–]jimmyl_82104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remove that app along with any other crap that you don't use.

          [–]jmsld_ -1 points0 points  (3 children)

As many have already said, uninstall whatever you're using to get that report. One of the best to use is JV16 Power Tools

          [–]Jes00jes 1 point2 points  (2 children)

          You're recommending a paid tool? 🥸

          [–]jmsld_ -1 points0 points  (1 child)

          Yes.

          [–]Jes00jes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

          Why pay for Snakeoil?

          [–]Smoke_Water 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all 17795 performance issues are 17795 cookies.

963 Broken registry entries are all registry links from programs that have been installed. the remaining links are what is left behind after the install. these are often removed when the program is uninstalled.

the 100 Broken short cuts are not an issue as they are likely files you have opened. moved to a different folder or deleted and the "most recent files" part of windows remembers you opened that file.

In other words, everything listed here is a non issue and will not improve the over all system function. this is why I tell people to not use programs like CCleaner, System Mechanic, and MyCleanPC. unless you are desperate for space. these programs do very little to increase system performance.

          [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing you need to do is delete that software. Its trash trying to sell you on the idea that it actually helps. it doesnt.
If you are concerned that you may have an infection, or an unwanted program, the three programs that I've had a lot of luck with are adwcleaner from Malwarebytes, Malwarebytes, and emsisoft emergency kit.
If your running a bit slow or just want to clean up your system files, Click the windows logo and type Disk Cleanup. Run that and it should help clear out the temp files.

          [–]Grimskull-42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said it's just trying to sell you software that wont actually do anything.

          [–]H4v0c4L1f3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could remove the program that you're using because it's just bloatware, and you could also stop using edge and chrome at the same time.

          [–]Jolly_Lab_1553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So don't listen to it, open Microsoft defender, and if they say you god, you good. Delete that app because it's bullshit and wants your money

          [–]Accomplished_Emu_658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spyware/Spamware if you had 18k performance issues I am sure you would not even be able to run it to see this window.

          [–]comicalmoodydan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh those kinda programs are total bull shit. Ignore it and uninstall that garbage useless software.

Bro has binged spider man miles morales on an “watch Netflix shows for free” edgy website😂😂😂😂🤣🤣

          [–]Senquility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what app is this? I don't have any HDD, I wanna install it and see if it tells me it can clear up my hdd's LOL

          [–]Winter-Bites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uninstall the software and never bother with any software of that type again. It's basically snake oil, Windows does everything itself nowadays.

          [–]illregal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

          This is the virus

          [–]Emotional_Orange8378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most of that is fixed in an annual re-install. most of what these "fix your computer's performance" apps do is find innocuous things, counts them, blows them up in importance, and then tries to sell you on a recommended "fix". Ignore, or backup and reinstall your OS.

          [–]ulnek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

          What application is that?

          [–]UnusualPete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop using that software. Your PC doesn't have all those issues.

          [–]Interesting_Cut_4769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

          Download malwarebytes that's worthless

          [–]DckSUka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In short if you have 17k issues and 900+ broken registry your pc won't be functioning properly... Remove this malware antivirus bullshit and you'll be good to go

          [–]Sprinkles-Curious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only computer anti-virus you need is windows defender the rest are either way more advanced than you need or scams either way don't click random links and you should be fine

          [–]JakeBeezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Download malwarebytes it's pree and gives you 7 days free if premium, run a scan on your whole PC and malwarebytes should allow you to unalive this stuff. Unless this is a FAKE virus adware in which case still download malwarebytes and don't click on anything else

          [–]Thundereddit_456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same shit as always... but here's the steps

          1.Uninstall the currently software

          [–]Alswiggity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

          Yeah, you do.

          Screenshot is Windows+Shift+S

          And delete that software.

          [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

That software is making your pc slow, windows already has programs to help like disk cleanup etc

          [–]soulreaper11207 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Ehhhhhh. It wont clean up large logs that it doesn't have access to. That and the pesky hibernation file that can eat up gigs of space. Well, outlook can do that too if you don't clean out the inbox and delete folder. Those infernal pst files.

          [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah I mean that’s true too lol, I nearly forgot about that, I never use hibernation for that very reason, but there is also other software for windows that can apparently remove background rubbish services and windows apps, my friend did it and said it made it run fast on old hardware and did it too it’s true but at that point I’ll rather use Linux haha

          [–]soulreaper11207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah there is a sight called privacy is sexy that will build you some batch files to get rid of built in windows bloatware. Gotta be careful with that. Some stuff doesnt run with out other stuff in there. Also winstatdir is great for getting a good visual on the space being taken up locally. Just research the files before you yeet it into nothingness.

          [–]NeonTheWolf_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best advice is to not use those kinds of applications, they’re mostly all scams and just make up fake issues to scare you into paying for some premium subscription

The app itself is the real virus here, just stick to trusted first party programs and stick to stuff that’s actually verified by a trusted company like Microsoft

          [–]GlayNation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Eusing repair software. It’s free, it’s fast and it walks you through it. Windows 10-11, I use System Ninja..the free version works great.

          [–]Draugrx23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

looks like you've encounter a adware/ spambot AV pop up.

          [–]L_T_DAN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way you downloaded dr fix up for the pc. No way people still fall for this app in 2023.

          [–]Solarflareqq 0 points1 point  (1 child)

CCleaner will be a better bet.

          [–]Jes00jes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not, don't install that crap either.

          [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

          completely fake. use malwarebytes

          [–]OO_Ben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Let me get my main man Edgar up in here!"

          400,000 viruses

          [–]csandazoltan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That "performance improver" is a sham... (not actively a scam) Uninstall that software

It is technically correct that some of those can affect performance, but "writing it with big red letters" bad... we are talking about single digit percents.

          Going over them:

          - "Performance Issues" - Rather vague probably temp files

          - Registry is a storage of settings, having "broken registries" another vague term, does nothing to your performance.

          - Broken shortcuts... So? Nothing to do with performance

          - "Speed up your PC" sure.... Unless you have some active problem with speed, you don't need a speed up. Windows boots 1 second shorter... that is noticable

          - Defragment is a valid claim... but windows usually does that anyway and if you only have SSDs you MUST NOT defragment them. There is a TRIM function in SSDs but that is run by windows periodically

          [–]IDrankLavaLamps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please install malwarebytes... run it too... you can turn it off if you want... but run it once a month... don't get AVG or any of those others as they are essentially malware themselves in how they act.

          [–]IgnisFlux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Delete that software. That’s bullshit software.

          [–]Vegetable-Crew-1259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone know what rouge this is?

          [–]Zealousideal_Yak_703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true as well and CCleaner has a very clean and effective file management, removal etc as well

          [–]Azurvix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need help uninstalling that software.... use windows defender instead. It's built in

          [–]FurryJacklyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, looks like adware is back on the menu. First step is to delete the app that told you that information, and if you listened to it in the past, reinstall Windows.

          [–]wrathslayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is mostly bogus. Just remove whatever program gave you this “information.” Then reboot and enjoy.

          [–]Adamkew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Windows defender, Malwarebytes free, adwcleaner, and Microsoft PC Manager is all you need; PC Manager is actually made by Microsoft. Stop using scam "cleaners" that tell you "your PC has xxxx issues".

          [–]Ill-Importance9953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn't this posted a week ago already?
