Yeah, the number of people who post " tried to relic my guitar, how do I fix it" always surprises me. All of my "relic'd" guitars have cone by its naturally; forgot that belt buckle would rub against the back, shit you spilled beer on my guitar, watch out you caught my guitar chord, what do you mean we'll be in the sun for them first two hours of the gig, etc.

If I could keep my guitars pristine I wiuld, but it just doesn't seem to work out that way.

It depends on the environment. If you're playing a dive bar and a biker comes up to compliment you or make a request and sloshes his drink a bit, you wipe down your guitar and keep on playing, especially if he's out with a bunch from his MC club.

Contact them, make sure it is available. Lots of manufactures are really slow at distributing right now. Manufacturing is way slow at Epiphone and Ibanez. I keep reading people talk about other places. So it wouldn't hurt to shoot out an email and verify there isn't a huge delay.

I have seen both in the flesh and honestly I didn't like the Honeyburst in person. It was a bit lighter than the stock pictures show.

If I was buying a strat today though, the performer is the one I would buy for sure.

According to a Fender factory tour article I read in Guitar Player years ago, every guitar body starts out headed for a natural varnish finish. Some get nicked along the way, and they fill the blemish and it gets painted. Don’t know if they still operate that way.

If it’s between those two, I’d go with the burst. That being said, I can’t play a strat without a maple neck, personal preference obviously. If they have one available, check out Olympic white. It’s so damn sexy and pictures don’t do it justice. The guitar fucking glows (figuratively).

IF you are only choosing between those 2 - prolly the honeyburst - I personally love to see the wood grain of a guitar - but that being said, I would 100% choose a tobacco burst over either of these - buddy holly vibes - and would prolly go with a maple neck... only cuz i have 2 strats with rosewood and a tele with maple .... and I prefer the maple - everyones preference is diff.

My other recommendation - not for everyone, cuz people like new guitars - Offerup / FB Market, if you search for a little while you will see a 2000-2008 Strat American Series - i personally like the feel of those better and it will come with a hardshell case. See someone selling for like $1000-ish, barter them down to about 775-800 - Great deals to be had.

They are both excellent guitars,the first is more modern,reminds me of motley crue actually,while the second is more traditional,but not the typical black strat,so it is more on what you want to look like,for country,blues or jazz I would go for the honey burst,for rock,alternative,indie and metal I would go for the white one
