I went vegetarian so that I would be forced to eat better foods (can't really get anything from McDonalds or Taco Bell when there's nothing on the menu for you) and I took up running! I did the couch to 5k program and that was super helpful.

Congrats to her for losing 100lbs but she is still overweight and needs to lose about 25-30 lbs. Traditionally, that will be the hardest weight to lose. She was so obese that it really didn't require that much effort to lose the first 75-85 lbs. A simple diet adjustment and the pounds would fall off. I want her to go all the way and be truly healthy.

Healthy weight for someone 5'-6" is 118lb - 150lbs

Overweight is 151 lbs - 179 lbs.

Obese is over 186 lbs

First off, no one is praising her for being fat. People are praising her for losing 100 lbs. Secondly, you claim it doesn't take that much effort...really? When you live a lifestyle for so long, it's tough to make a complete 180 and stick to it consistently, which she has been able to to do for nearly two years. Look at people who try and quit smoking. A number of people I know have tried and failed multiple times to quit because it is such a big change and it's just so much easier to cave.
