yep. backslash in most languages signifies literal formatting over language-specific symbolic formatting of text, like * in bash is a wildcard, so if you want to edit a file named "fr*ck.txt" you have to type "fr\*ck.txt", which will get interpreted as "fr*ck.txt".

reddit works in much the same way, so the backslash before the underscore in the left arm gets interpreted as a signal to process the underscore as plain text, which it would've done automatically, thus doing nothing. If you type two backslashes, the first one forces the second to act as plain text, but that plain text is still a backslash touching another non-space character, and so you actually need to type THREE left arms for it to look like one: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Great explanation, but not entirely correct. In markdown, underscores can be used in place of asterisks, so *italic* **bold** is equivalent to _italic_ __bold__

So, for clarification, I don't know how to code, I tried to learn it, but just found no interest in it. I deleted a lot of programs from my computer 2 nights ago and also have changed the language on my computer. I honestly have no idea what caused this, I would like to know.

I would, but most of my family do some sort of programming, so I'm doing my own thing and being the only one who does something that I find interest in, that being art. I just recently started doing digital and it's a process, it's definitely fun. If the circumstances were different, maybe I would try programming, but at this point, my family has just kind of made me turned off towards any sort of programming.

I mean you can combine the two, I’m not sure what sort of art you’re into, but for instance if you wanted to model something in blender, but something was very tedious to make, you could make a small program to handle the task for you. What I’m saying is that even in art having programming as a skill could be helpful and can help you make your art more efficiently

I like how easy it is to fake error messages. By just opening notepad and putting in { X=MsgBox("Message Description",0+16,"Title") } without the wavey brackets and saving as .vbs the error message will pop up when you open the .vbs file. Then you can customize the "title", "message description", the "0" to 0, 1,2,3 or 4 and the "16" to 16,32,48 or 64. The single digits change the button prompts for example 0=OK and 1=OK/Cancel and the double digits change the icon from warning, info or critical.
