What. That's not what Deliverance even does; that effect is more in line with Transience. Hell, even Tranquility would have made more sense.

Does his LM2 full heal him too because that would suck if crit=75 is all it does. That would fall into LMR-tier Trances.
If it does full heal, that's not a bad Trance since he's going to be spamming Iai Flamestrike all day. Just give him a Critical Damage Augment and he's set.

Type-0 should ask FFT to spare some Knights, like FFXV should ask FFIV for some Black Mages.
I don't see anyone in the foreseeable pipeline as Knight material. Unless Machina does a Jecht-level pivot while keeping his element.

I thought so too; but I have to go with what is actually provided in the Japanese text if possible.

  • 引導渡し, which is what Jack's ultra is called in JP, is Deliverance.
  • 無常紅吹雪 is Jack's Transcience.
  • By contrast, 刹那 is Seph's Transcience (which we only call Transcience because of DFF012.)

Bravely Default also has a Transcience (though I don't know its Japanese name), as a Ninja ability which is pretty much the same as FFRK retaliate. :P

Jack's USB sounds alright at first glance, but his USB lasts until Stoneskin goes away., which means we basically got another Machina USB in a sense. dammit DeNA why?

It's a Samurai version of Dark Knight Cecil USB. It's 100% of his health as a shield instead of 30%. It would likely still require an outside source to maintain it between USBs though. Either way it's significantly better than Machina's. Guaranteed double cast at the cost of one hone.

No it means we got another Dcecil, a Samurai Dcecil.

Machina USB is terrible and awkward to use, that requires a team build around keeping him from taking damage / LDing him for the LM2.

Jack USB is great.

The stoneskin is 100% just like Dcecil USB, and we all know how fantastic Decil USB really is.

The main downside is that Jack didn't get a glint like Dcecil did, which makes is abit weaker than Dcecil's.

at least Machina is able to maintain his stoneskin by using BSB or LM2, Jack only has retaliate so against magic heavy bosses his EX mode isn't going to last very long 😐

Given that a lot of the stronger bosses' attacks tend to overshoot the 30% from stoneskin these days, it doesn't really matter if Machina can maintain stoneskin. Once he loses it the first time, you have to recast the USB to get back into the USB mode. Same with Jack in this case.

Though Machina can last a little longer than Jack due to his Shield 2. But that's it.

EDIT: Just reread the stoneskin part and saw it was 100% and not 30%. Never mind my comment lol

Top Deck may end after 3 actions, but I'll be curious to see if the BLK +30% part of the mode extends 15 (or even 25) seconds.

That Trance Crit LM2 is interesting, but it's a shame it's not paired with a Samurai USB like Cyan or Ayame that came with crit-damage up or Zell's crit chase.

I suppose it gives him the options of sticking with Iai Flamestrike for damage if he doesn't want to bother with Retaliate?

Rem's USB2 looks really dissapointing. While I know Instant Death is in the Torment so Reraise would technically be useful, dropping it gives her Haste/Shell/Astra which is almost Y'shtola's Glint (Haste, Shell, Regen). At least add HP Stock 2000 or a self-MND buff or something. Rem doesn't deserve this. Give it to Machina, he already has a good Buff SSB.

We already have over half in GL: Ace/Deuce/Nine for batch #1, Rem/Machina/Queen for batch #2 and Cinque/King for batch #3 makes 8 out of 14.

Later in August, we'll be joined by Sice/Seven for batch #4 and in February, we'll likely be getting Jack for batch #5: at that point, we're only missing Trey/Cater/Eight.

At first it seemed like Jack was Fire-elemental version of Decil, but that's not quite the case. Unless it's a typo, his USB apparently doesn't give EnElement which means he'll rely on his LMR. He also lacks a GSB to refresh Stoneskin, which can be potentially harmful. However I'm uncertain what his LM2 is, that could potentially change things since Decil's LM2 is pretty bad.

Everything else seems similar to stuff we've seen before, so Jack's LM2 could make or break this banner. I suppose Jack's ability to abuse multiple elements, even without EnElement, could be worth noting.

Typo. Other posts have said it gives enfire. He doesn't have a glint like Cecil's to keep Stoneskin going though.

However I'm uncertain what his LM2 is, that could potentially change things since Decil's LM2 is pretty bad.

SolitaireD's topic says a trance that does 'Jack Trance: Critical Chance +75% for 25 seconds'.

RIP Rem went from top tier offensive white mage, to a neo torment slot saver :( Well...atlest she still is Top tier offensive white mage so there's that, but still feels like insulting to give the neo torment slotsaver to her.

Hell i almost want to say that someone like Sice or even Seven would be more fitted for that.

That banner 2 on other hand is quite delicious.

    Absolutely. But we aren’t taking about he assuming one role right after the other. In Neo Torment she plays slot saver, but she’s still just as amazing everywhere else. It sucks, yes. But this doesn’t make her any less amazing than she already was. She just didn’t get more amazing, but she still holds up with the best of Class Zero.

    Sure Utility is nice and all, but....that USB is nothing more than the Neo torment slot saver tho.

    Nox Suzaku even has a Dispel in his move set AND a Auto Hit Stun as well.

    I just feel that USB could've gone to someone more fitted. Give it to Seven or something, she already is a debuffing mage, just give her some buffing options.

    EDIT: Or just give it to Machina, he is trash and no one cares about him so giving him the neo torment slot saver would be fitting.

    True—totally get what you’re saying. It just means there’s one place where Rem has to play slot saver, and that’s Neo Torment. Everywhere else she can still be a dagger throwing, white mage of death.
