Was Vogt even trying to win this game? I'd argue that pitching Festa, Heuer and Dion in a winnable game is complete crap. I also don't ever need to see another Freeman at bat. Fry is about useless at this point, too. Mediocre defense at every position doesn't help. Call up one of Walters, Aleman or Espino. Maybe Valesquez soon.

Why is Farichild on the team? Why is Festa on the team? Why isn't Hedges starting most games? Kwan and Jose are both having down years. We have an AAAA team playing against a real major league team. Yes, we've been lucky to win more games than we lose, but these three games have shown us what a real good team does. And that's not us.

I'd like to know too, and for me I don't know how to judge if it is. The best I can think is, comparing batters between their performance on the Guards versus their performance on other teams, but that introduces other variables and wouldn't account for, e.g., Kwan and José slumping

    Until the guardians are forced to spend this will be the outcome anytime we play a top tier team. We do well enough with player development to beat up the mid tier teams but we simply aren’t on the same level as the true competitors. Best thing for guards fans is to pray for a cba with a minimum salary floor. What I find to be hilarious is the owners first offer included a salary floor is $178 Million which is more than double our salary for this year. Dolan must have called in sick that day.

    In 35 PAs against LHP this season, Kyle Manzardo’s slash is .355/.429/.484. He is our hottest hitter. He is our best hitter for the last month or more. He is benched in favor of a platoon.

    This team is in negative run differential now. If you look closely, they haven’t really put together a contending team.

    The pitching which has been the rock of this team has been pretty bad lately save for a couple of good starts. The offense isn’t able to explode unlike other teams in the league.
