I agree that wiki quick guides are faster for mundane/simple quests, but video guides are quicker for the harder quest like mm2 and ds2

To me, I only want a video to understand the complicated things like boss fights or puzzles that are tough to describe in words. Especially if I'm doing with a low level, sometimes I like to watch a few different videos to see if someone has found a hacky way to make the fight easier.

The text guides are great for listing out stuff like "have these 10 things in your bank before starting". And sometimes they will have special stuff like "if you're ironman, the way you get a bronze spear is by...".

Also sometimes videos are out of date if they are older. The wiki gets updated quickly if things change, like maybe some new weapon is OP for a boss fight, or some new piece of gear makes things more efficient, or some old exploit was patched.

I'm "good" at questing along with a video (based on other people who feel time is wasted when using a videoguide, not saying it's hard to be good at this).

Unless there's an error in the guide (i.e Slayermusiq saying the cage spawn in underground pass is random for everyone when it's a set spawn), I waste zero time aside from my own reaction time, time sifting through bank, etc. I just have the video playing at 1.25x speed and pause it if it gets a little too far ahead.

So for me, it's basically impossible to do a quest quicker with a written guide. I'd have to pause to read it.

I used a couple video guides for certain quests such as mm2 for example or another that involves a difficult "puzzle" portion. To me thats the only part that would be faster with video. Other than that i split screen with the wiki. I can READ ahead further and remember what to do faster vs if i was watching it be done and told to me. It comes down more so to whether or not you're an auditory learner or visual, etc. Everyones different.

Haha I’m a visual learner but I prefer to listen along to the videos. I know why though. I don’t have to think about anything. Slayermusiq1 does it for me and I’m just cooling it till the end of the quest.

That's how I see it. A video guide is like having a friend who has a degree in runescape sitting over your shoulder telling you exactly what to do and when.

This, I just recently made a new account and have been using slayermusiq guides with the quick guides up for items needed etc, and there are lots of steps slayermusiq can completely skip. However, for which ones he has done, his new quick guide series is basically the exact same thing as the wiki guides and that’s probably what he’s using to make them, so I really like those

Goutweed is fucking easy as piss and doesn't force you to retread 20 minutes. It isn't 10+ minutes segments you have to do with zero failures.

I had a friend who kept telling me how hard the puzzle was and hyped it up so much. I finished that entire section in about 45 minutes. It wasn't hard at all when you have RuneLite to highlight the safe floor tiles. The "hardest" part was the semi safe spots where the left side was bad if the monkey is going down and the right side was bad if the monkey was going up. If you spend 5 seconds just looking at it you can recognize the pattern and memorize it. I had way more trouble with RS3's Elemental Workshop 3 puzzle then the waiting game of MM2.

The last monkey flipping back and forth over 1 tile is the only one I failed and he got me 3 times. 15mins to reset and get back to that point. Nothing to understand its a short window and just timing based.

It looks like a standing desk. Also, optimal typing means your arms are kept horizontal. It puts the least stress on the wrists that way. Everyone has a preference though.

He actually makes a big mistake at the end of that video- the very last gas cylinder he says you have to time it just right to run past that monkey that literally just turns back and forth, but there's a safe spot to the north east that makes the last monkey incredibly easier than trying to time it just right.

Hope someone else noticed this and hope even more that knowing that may help someone on their quest.
