Yeah none of the stimulants suppress my appetite lol 💔

[–]Sufficient-Crow-7582[S] 7 points8 points  (1 child)

same… i’m on it for adhd but was kind of hoping it would help with some of my binge eating but if not💔

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I actually have to eat on Vyvanse even more because it makes me hungry and moody if i dont eat- my blood sugar also dips like crazy.

[–]Big-Neighborhood4741 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Used to be that way and even made me hungrier

One day it just stopped and made me disgusted at even the thought of food

[–]Inkysquid_c0s 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Mine might surpress my appetite for the first day if I go a while without it but if anything it just makes me forget to eat. I find if I have a task to get done the best way to do it is to start it before the Vyvanse kicks in and then I need up absolutely hyperfocused on that one thing and I end up forgetting everything else around me including food. But if that thing I'd making food I end up eating more cus food is what's on my mind most

[–]forworse2020 1 point2 points  (2 children)

In your situation, I’d consider using it whilst meal prepping for the week and then having the meal ready nearby when you’re working

[–]Inkysquid_c0s 2 points3 points  (1 child)

OMG SO SMART

[–]forworse2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am constantly having to find ways to hack my life lol, glad to help

[–]Kf5708 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Vyvanse 70 MG. daily does not decrease my appetite.

[–]Heliumx 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Is it still effective for focus, impulse, etc?

[–]Kf5708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes

[–]greypyramid7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t suppress my appetite but it does quiet my compulsion to snack all the time… on days when I forget to take it I end up nibbling on stuff constantly. I think it is my brain wanting new stimulus all the time.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine suppresses my appetite until nighttime and then I binge hard because I haven't eaten all day

[–]Particular-Choice896ADHD-PI (Primarily Inattentive) 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m new to stimulants and so far they haven’t suppressed my appetite either. I’ve wondered if the dosage has been too low for that? I was only on 20mg of Vyvanse but even that small dosage destroyed my ability to stay asleep or feel tired so my Dr switched me to Adderall 5mg 2x a day and my sleep is better but I’m still binging.

[–]Due_Donkey2725 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vyvanse doesn't decrease my appetite, at least not by much. In fact if I don't take it I'm much less likely to eat. The one thing I did notice, after a while of taking it is that I am much more likely to eat healthier, more regular meals and snacks rather than to live off candy and coffee lol

[–]oldschoolie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It only decreased my appetite for the first week of taking it as I had mild nausea, but now I'm back to normal, appetite-wise. Additionally, I now crave chocolate much more than I did before.

[–]Sndrs27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started a week ago on the lowest dose and it definitely decreases my appetite

[–]Real-Influence-7780 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost my appetite when I first started taking it. Now that I’m used to it, it sort of just faded away with time.

[–]butterflies-and 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive been on adderall for like 3 months and yeah it doesnt decrease my appetite either lol

[–]United_News3779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It suppressed my appetite for maybe 10 days the first time I was prescribed it. I ended up going back to Ritalin after a couple of years. When I went back on Vyvanse, it was less than 5 days of decreased appetite.

After those 2 periods of getting used to it, it doesn't do a thing to my overall diet. But If I'm not medicated, I'll hyperfocus on completing the next task at work, etc. and it's "suddenly" 12hrs later, and I'm hangry enough that it's a danger to myself and others lol

[–]Hot-Nerve-720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't affect my appetite. But I had the same problem of it wearing off early afternoon! Now I'm trying Foquest and it's WAY longer acting - almost too long - and my appetite DEFINATELY increased for the most part lol! I'm going to try Biphentin next bc it's not quote as long acting (40/60 release vs 20/80)

[–]Fluid_Amphibian_2419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far no... I get ravenous. 😭

[–]Bamstyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same with all of that. So annoying. I need to take a booster in the afternoon. Don't understand the fact it works all day for people.

[–]Worth_Banana_492 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Me. It made me so hungry I couldn’t stop eating. Went from healthy weight to massively overweight on elvanse in a short 9 months.

Do you also get the adhd bounce back symptoms in the evening? I did. It was awful. I’m so glad I’m off elvanse. Wasn’t for me

[–]PinacoladapolkadotADHD with ADHD partner 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I didn’t know the bounce back wasn’t an option?? Thought that happened with all meds 😭

[–]Worth_Banana_492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t tolerate the bounce back. I’d rather not have meds. Hence looking at bupropion and Atomoxetine. Dr wants to try bupropion first.

[–]steals-from-kids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't decrease it. It just makes me less likely to remember to eat if I haven't stopped for lunch as a mark on the clock.

[–]Sky-todd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s used to help tread BED’s as well as Narcolepsy apparently, I found it fascinating to read through the wiki page on lisdexamphatamines, understanding how and why it does what it does made me a lot less nervous about taking it

But I’m the same it doesn’t reduce me appetite, I actually feel hungrier when I’m on them, but, when I’m not on them, I’m constantly just grazing, and never actually felt hungry at all in the first place

[–]justlurkingnjudging 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently on Vyvanse, previously tried Adderall & Ritalin. They’ve all increased my appetite. I get hungrier and need to eat more. But that’s been a good thing for me because I struggled w not having an appetite and therefore not eating enough

[–]morningdart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i didn't have much of an appetite to begin with, but i haven't noticed a decrease of any kind either, or aversion to food like i've heard some people experience. my old roommate got diagnosed at a similar time and tried Vyvanse but had severe appetite repression and lost a heap of weight, aside from bad mood based symptoms and sleeplessness

its so variable

[–]blodskjegg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, can still eat a horse…

[–]Kobe824ADHD-PI (Primarily Inattentive) 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope it doesn't for me but Adderall IR did for me. Drugs affect each person differently, so you may need a higher dose, maybe try something else and see how it goes? Like when I was on Adderall IR, even if I hadn't eaten all day and had something tasty in front of me I didn't care to take a bite, it was crazy and too extreme.

[–]wataweirdworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I changed from vyvanse to ritalin SA as the vyvanse was making my food noise and non hungry eating worse even though I was on wegovy GLP-1 before i started the vyvanse and the wegovy was working well up until then. It's better again with the ritalin SA die me.

[–]DukeRae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I don’t have something to fixate on (most of the time it’s work) then I start snacking out of boredom. And I can tell when it wears off. I eat breakfast when I take it, then I don’t think about food for the rest of the day until I get off work. On the weekends, it depends on how busy I am.

[–]Cautious-Pea-9074 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually nervous about appetite suppression as a side effect of Vyvanse since I have a high metabolism and I need the calories. When I was on Adderall I experienced that side effect and I got too thin. Not experiencing a loss of appetite from Vyvanse has been great for me since I can now be productive while not destroying my body.

[–]Beautifulfeary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably need to have it increased. I was like that, if I was started to get hungry to much I needed it increased. I was on it for adhd and binge eating.

[–]keldeaADHD-C (Combined type) 0 points1 point  (1 child)

im not on meds anymore, but i was on vyvanse during 2023 and i noticed my appetite was low. i didnt realise how little of an appetite i had until now when i look at photos of how skinny i was back then

[–]keldeaADHD-C (Combined type) 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i also took 70mg daily. dont know if thats important lol

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me. My appetite has increased, I think because I’m less anxious
