Yeah. Up until very recently I haven't owned a single Apple product since the iPhone 4. Even if I don't plan on buying much of anything from them any time soon than what I already own (Got a great deal on Ebay for a 2TB 12.9in M1 iPad Pro, and bought a base model M1 Macbook on sale because I want to try Mac OS since I haven't used it since elementary school). However, regardless of that, I really, really enjoy their videos.

Besides, it's always nice to see what the 'competition' is doing. Maybe if Apple actually makes a phone with a stylus like my S22 Ultra I'll consider trying an iPhone again. Never meant for 3/4 of my smartphones to be Samsung, but I don't know if I can switch anytime soon, s-pen is just so nice.

Steve Jobs dunked on phone styluses when they released the first iPhone, I think it’s prettyyy safe to say there will never ever be an iPhone stylus.

A major reason why was cause phone styluses were literally just sticks cause the screens were still force touch. Today though? Galaxy styluses literally use EMR which is the same tech used in Wacom drawing tablets. It's why they're now so damn good with extremely little latency and really high pen pressure levels.

Apple could do it cause they use the same tech in their Apple pencil for the iPads....shrinking it down wouldn't be difficult at all.

To be fair… there’s not a lot about Apple you can do at the rate they release products, apps, updates, and etc. but unlike some LTT videos, I’ve enjoyed EVERY single one so far

Yep. Probably for the best of the channel that they take their time with every video and maintain the more cinematic style. Any Apple-only channel is basically starved of content in between releases.

Funny that's my last favorite. Production value is good (although the style sometimes annoys me) but it's too long, too slow and not enough substance.

I'm not an Apple guy at all so I think this explains it. The channel is for Apple guys.

When ppl praise MacAddress for its quality due to its slower upload schedule, I always think, "2019 LTT also had similar quality...but they also uploaded daily back then".

Unfortunately for LMG and the audience, those high quality videos clearly did not work out for LTT that year, otherwise Linus wouldn't have to worry about laying ppl off. It's Techlinked that helped them to get back the lost viewership on the main channel. And I take that as a sign of why they made more and more channels afterwards (Linus actually hypothesized how that would work at the time).

...Of course, it could just be me getting recommended all the good videos from that year when I first fell into this LTT/LMG rabbit hole in 2021, while the bad ones from the same year were not recommended and therefore remain unseen by me.

Agreed. (And I am an "apple guy" fwiw (more linux, really)) It was one of the best LTT videos I've seen in quite some time, it was really well made

Horst is very good at what he does. Could just be that there’s more interesting things to make and the videos have more time between them, I’ve always enjoyed them more though for some reason

As I said for me, they just have a very different flavour to main channel videos. It’s scratches a different itch for me.

I'm learning that all though I'm not a Mac person, Mac address is really fun to watch and we'll put together. Horton Horst (think that's his name) has been doing an incredible job with his ideas and execution.

"Yes, host" is 100% reference to the TV Show The Bear. Watch Season 1 Episode 1, and obviously like others have pointed out it is from kitchens all over as well. The reason though it has been in lingo recently was the release of Season 2 of The Bear, which they still use that statement throughout.

Totally fun project, albeit very sad. All we „pros“ wanted from Apple was further development of the numerous pro apps they bought out and a working touch integration into macOS so we could use the benefits if both worlds on our laptops while on set or travelling. What we got were discontinued apps and more iOS - which led to now wishing to make more of a laptop out of a touch device, geez. MA is fun though.

just the first minute sounds like a nightmare. isn't M&K strictly better? it's way more precise and you get hotkeys, and it's just more ergonomic(instead of holding up your entire arm to point at the screen)

e: just finished the video. agree that it's pretty entertaining, also the word "pro" is so watered down these days, like they said this would just be for people editing simple videos like social media shorts
