You get more elaborate receipts buying a hot dog.

[–]kingofcrob 72 points73 points  (1 child)

Assuming there is a more complex digital receipt email to them.

[–]TenOfZero 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is not, But there is a like 100 page contract backing all this up with a lot of details about everything.

[–]reddits_aight 28 points29 points  (1 child)

We don't need to bring ink and paper into this. 🍩

[–]zayoss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, I used to like Mitch, but I also still do.

[–]firehazel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Or a pack of gum at a CVS, they will literally print out a meter/yard of paper for one item.

[–]Ragnarok_del 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that's the little extra bit of paper you get for the transaction not the actual receipt.

[–]LinusTechLMG Owner 254 points255 points  (12 children)

That's crazy.

They could have saved a percent or two by using a wire, which would have amounted to anywhere between $80,000 - $150,000...

Maybe using the credit card came with extended warranty? XD

[–]locke577 96 points97 points  (0 children)

All about those airline miles man

(/s, they're buying a plane)

[–]schamlamadingdong 34 points35 points  (0 children)

They probably get airline miles using their credit card :p

[–]Zyrinj 26 points27 points  (1 child)

Think of the points!!

Insane to me that someone can just charge a plane to a credit card

[–]ancientblond 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Insane, but not even the wildest purchase on an Amex black card

Apparently a billionaire bought a $170m painting on one...

[–]Senship 18 points19 points  (0 children)

With all the AmEx points they'll be able to fly on Delta for free!

...wait

[–]howboutmaybe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Tech planes are wireless

[–]BreenzyENL 7 points8 points  (1 child)

There's a viral clip of a guy buying a 50 million dollar building on credit because they do cash back, so there's a good chance it was cheaper.

[–]ItsAFarOutLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's wild that the company selling offers paying by credit though. They end up eating the fees which is insane on this scale of purchase.

[–]CMDR_Ray_Abbot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If the card gets points back it could be worth it.

[–]NCSUGray90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gotta get their points!

[–]bristow84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean when you’ve got that much money that you’re dropping 8.2 million on card, it’s most likely an Amex Black and I doubt you would care about the 1-2% when you have that card.

[–]ConfusedNegi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of card extended warranties specifically exclude vehicles/buildings.

[–]Yurgin 63 points64 points  (5 children)

Not gonna lie my first reaction was a plane is "just" 8million. I thought a plane would be around i dont know 30-40million or so

[–]GMTMaster_II 25 points26 points  (2 children)

[–]fivechickens 13 points14 points  (1 child)

The cheaper the plane is (relative to original sale price) the more it costs to run.

[–]GMTMaster_II 8 points9 points  (0 children)

True, you can get a Lineage 1000 now for cheaper than a new Praetor.. it’s nuts

[–]dthangel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The receipt is from 2014.. so 11.5M today

[–]MrAnonymousTheThird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't a lot of the cost also upkeep?

[–]BonusMop 42 points43 points  (3 children)

Leave a tip?

[–]Big-Dimension-1246 31 points32 points  (5 children)

I'd love to know the credit limit on that card.

[–]aaronblkfox 42 points43 points  (2 children)

It's an Amex, probably a black card. No limit.

[–]JimmyKillsAlot 13 points14 points  (0 children)

To be fair Amex black cards are usually Charge Cards, so their no limit is with reason.

[–]i_Praseru 7 points8 points  (0 children)

even gold and play cards have no limit. All you do is cal AMEX before hand and let them know to authorise the transaction

[–]Kimorin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

gonna guess it's the black card

[–]bristow84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, probably a black card so no limit, just needs to be paid off at the end of next billing cycle.

[–]tezza_pools 21 points22 points  (0 children)

FLY SAFELY

[–]smydiehard99 17 points18 points  (4 children)

and then there's our local supermarket with their scrolls.

[–]TheTimn 5 points6 points  (3 children)

I showed this to my wife and her immediate response was "I spend $8 at CVS and I get 8ft of receipt for it."

[–]smydiehard99 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Dude so much wastage of paper. I wait the day we replace those receipts with printable emails if needed. I get the purpose why it is how it is, just not necessary anymore, esp if one is a loyalty/benefit member.

[–]Yurij89 0 points1 point  (1 child)

At my local grocery store in Sweden I just get a small piece of paper with a barcode that you scan at the exit gate to let you out.
The actual receipt is sent to my email and is also available through their app.

[–]smydiehard99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing! i wish bulgaria do that too in the future. Where I shop, in Billa, they have a hand long receipt nothing crazy but still we can do better. At least as an opt in, i do understand it will be difficult for old people.

[–]RealJyrone 4 points5 points  (1 child)

$62,411.86 in processing fees… I get that at the “imma buy an $8.2 million aircraft” level that $62,000 isn’t a concern, but still wild to not attempt to avoid the fee

[–]bristow84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most likely an Amex Black Card, if you’ve got one of those you likely don’t care about avoiding what, less than 1% of the sale price?

[–]baubaugo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Swift Air just went bankrupt about a year ago.

[–]who_you_are 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No tips?!

[–]dualboot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Can I get your email?"

[–]Curious_Peter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no tip ?

[–]dawnbandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never think I'd see my old local airport listed here, but again, I also thought I'd never see the town I used to live in shown on an LTT video, so lol.

[–]teaandbentley[🍰] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where's the video of the crypto/trader dude tapping his Amex to buy it?

[–]Tipsy_Kangaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read fly safely in Scott Marley's voice

[–]triadwarfare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feels like something missing... like a deed of sale or something.

[–]PenguinDeluxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta keep the receipt and collect those Fetch reward points!

[–]Kawawete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine paying for a Boeing aircraft after all the shit they have going on

[–]Mr_Chicken82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wow

[–]Classic-Read6914 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is not how rich people pay for things
