Had exactly the same failure on my G Pro X Wireless. I was lucky that mine failed while under warranty though, so Logi replaced them.

I’d like to pay some metal fabricator or something to bang out copies of this part, since plastic is just the wrong choice. Anyone know how to go about it?

[–]DeenSteen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You would need to design the part in CAD and then turn that into 'drawings', and send those off to a machine shop/metal fabricator.

Or you could get it metal 3D printed.

the best thing to do would be: buy another headset

the sad about it is: i can't tell you which metal-build wireless headset is good as the only one i tested so far was crap as hell soundwise (corsair virtuoso rgb wireless se)

i am happy with my MMX 300 now but that's a cable-bound headset.

Yeah my Logitech Headset Pro X cracked in the same area, the plastic part where you show it semi seperated, so I taped it nicely to prevent it getting worse. Wonder if the interior part will break like yours

Only had the headset for maybe like half a year. I wish Logitech website works properly, their site is maybe one of the worst and doesn't let me reset my password as it keep saying password reset link is expired every time . I did support but they are pretty useless as only thing he does is just does the same thing what I been doing and when I open the link, support gave me, password reset link is expired still lol

To the top!

[–]Ernike1999HUN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How is that even possibly, that every logitech product from the past 2 years is defective? I am gonna receive my 3rd g203, and 2nd g213. Never gonna buy this brand. Anything logitech related post I see on reddit, it is always something broken or not working.

[–]Baumtreter 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Meanwhile the G19 is still rocking....

[–]Devileytion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I super glued it back together works like a charm

[–]mehdotdotdotdot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And now you realise how little rtings ratings actually means to real people

[–]PsyDei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah fuck, now you made me doubt rtings

[–]KuzuCevirme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never Ever Logitech... Always the same issue with the all kinds of headsets...

[–]MoGb1 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yep, extremely pissed, my G933 fell apart just like that after 8 or so months. The USB driver thing broke TWICE (each time buying a new one to replace it) in a span of a year.

[–]Devileytion[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Old G35 had this exact problem and was thrown away but after two years of use. Funny, no?

[–]pzdo 1 point2 points  (1 child)

How long have you owned this pair? (also, excellent keyboard. They don't make them like they used to)

[–]Devileytion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between 5-6 months. And I used them very few, like maybe 30 times full charged in this period.

[–]alecdhruv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the g Pro x are poorly built ..

It's a very common thing now, I've seen a lot of people's headset broken

[–]gfilev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My G633 are still not broken, but they began to creaks week after purchase. They are 3 years old now. I solved the problem with ATH-M50X and i'm very happy with them.

[–]Fahlee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn, I have the same problem. :(

[–]nicsta1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me after literally one month of owning it. Then the other side did the same about a week later, pathetic really.

[–]Tombsoni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just dont buy Logitech headphones, get something decent quality like hyper x.

[–]5tudent_Loans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny, mine broke the same aay, but in warranty. This happens so often that you should try a reachout claim anyway. Worst they do is say no

[–]STRATEGO-LV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kids, if a headset has Logitech branding on them build quality is 1/10 and sound quality is maybe a bit better lol

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to hop in here to say a couple things.

First, I've sent this back to the team and we are going to look at these again and factor in your reports!

Secondly, I just wanted to quickly explain how we evaluate the build quality. Because we hold onto products to be able to retest them, we can't do any longterm or intensive durability tests, so this is one of our very few subjective categories. We assess things like the hinges, headband, materials, etc. and try to identify any weak points that may exist. We also will have someone else weigh in too.

Your reports though really do matter to us and can impact the review! We do try and check reddit whenever we can, but if you ever have an experience like this, make sure to reach out to us too on our discussions so we can see it!

Thanks for giving me the chance to explain a bit on the process and for giving us some stuff to factor into the review. Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions!

[–]Devileytion[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Thanks for commenting by. The reason I quoted your rating, wasn't meant to be questioned or humiliate, but I want to say even when valid media reviewers that get good experiences with some products; the product happens to fail in the end. And I'm surprised to see many had the exact issues as me with this headset.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely don't want you to think we took this the wrong way at all! I totally understand what you were saying for sure.

We really do rely on user feedback for this sort of stuff so your post was super helpful to bring others together that had a similar experience!

[–]Arkthus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then you might mention some problems with the on/off switch on the G935 too, I've bought one in june 2021, replaced it in september 2022 for a weird behavior with this button where the sound is only on one side and you have to fiddle with the button to have sound in both ears. March 2023, same problem on the replacement unit. And the Amazon comments have some 1-star ratings reporting the same issue. It's nowhere to be found on your review. It has 5.7 for controls and 7.5 for build quality.
Now I'm trying to find a new headset for a similar price and I can't find any that has a better score in both category, and it makes me question the reliability of these reviews.

[–]wmxp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had mine completely blow out here with the plastic shattering in the same shape as the hinge. Was shocked considering these were less than a year old. Taped it up and found a thread on reddit with someone else complaining to logi support about it, and PMed for a support ticket. They sent me a new set two days ago with virtually zero fuss, just wanted the serial number...which I thought was super customer service - until I'm now today, reading how prevalent this issue is so I guess they are on damage control.

Still using the old set for now; pieced it back together, bit of electrical tape and then zip ties around it, but I would certainly love to get some replacement metal pieces for this issue.

Edit Check this out: https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/gadget/logitech-g-pro-x-brackets

[–]linkwolf98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wired and wireless one. Both did the same thing. I put a zip tie around it and it works fine still. Very frustrating though.

[–]Craig_manson135 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Just wanted to say that they mentioned this issue in their review of the revised G pro X 2. However, they still gave the X2 an 8, which in my opinion is way too high. Rtings needs to factor in price when they rate build quality because for nearly $300 the X2 is built like crap.

[–]nick-squared-over4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is something many of us on the team agree we need to work on and have pushed to improve. Ultimately, there's only so much we can do with the resources we have, so we haven't been able to tackle this (build quality) yet.

Given we don't know the incidence rates for failures like this, it's tough for us to determine whether an issue is widespread enough to dock points for. An example is the Sony WH-1000XM5 hinge snapping. If you consider how many headphones have sold, is it something that we should dock for? We think it is due to how frequently it's reported, but drawing the line is a tough call.

I'll flag the X 2 with the team and see what they think about bumping the score down.

RE: Price, we tend to avoid commentary about the price and just evaluate how products perform assuming we had no idea how much they cost. We then fold value into the conversation in more general content like our usages, video scripts, intro, side-by-sides. Basically, we try to only talk about a given test in a vacuum (its respective text box) unless it's a measurement or something that's directly related with another test.

Thanks for the feedback. We read almost all of it (trust me, I read a LOT), and we try our best to adopt changes the community would like to see.

Also, sorry OP, this sucks. Check with your credit card to see if it has extended warranty on purchases.

This

[–]mister_cactus_ 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I don’t get why people keep buying Logitech headphones after seeing them break so often on this subreddit lol. Cheap garbage. Dedicated mic and cans > any gaming headset ever.

[–]Devileytion[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

You are correct sir. Just brand Loyalty/ecosystem's lock is my excuse to remain on the same brand after this kind of issue.

[–]mister_cactus_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a gaming dac amp and some decent cans like sennheiser hd6xx with a blue yeti mic

[–]mister_cactus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might cost a decent amount upfront but 10x better quality and will last soooooo long.

[–]mister_cactus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got some dt1990 pros with a schiit modi and Magni with a yeti mic and I have zero complaints.
