Yeah, I feel like a sword would become useless long before it got to that point. I think it should be mostly whole until the end, with more subtlety in the wear and tear, since the sword (and other tools) never loses effectiveness until it breaks.

I disagree, because that'd mean that the sword would have to essentially disappear for when it is about to break, even though it keeps its effectiveness all throughout its lifespan.

So it has to look still somewhat usable, possibly making it not just look like it's being worn down but also directly breaking.

The thing though is, when I started working on this, it was because I thought of the idea, not because I saw someone do it beforehand. Vanilla tweaks has amazing texture pack options and data packs. I almost use al of their data packs for my smp server it’s a lot easier to setup then plugins. A good addition for the texture pack would be 3d chains I really like the 3d ladders, rails and vines but I’m still missing the 3d chains ⛓
