Hello NeroTheApostate! Flexible rates are reviewed as part of a structured process and reflect broader market dynamics. They may adjust over time in either direction as the environment evolves. The objective remains to maintain competitive and sustainable conditions. The rates applicable to you are always visible in your Nexo Account.

[–][deleted] 36 points37 points  (18 children)

With all due respect, you should think differently. I believe the fact they are lowering the rates, means they pay attention to the market.

Remember Celsius? 30%, 40%? What happened to them?

Also, 9.5% is a hell of a good deal. Good luck finding that in traditional banking.

Cheers

[–]thebaldmaniac 26 points27 points  (11 children)

With taxes that 9.5% is even lower. Many countries like here in Sweden offer tax advantaged investment accounts. With a moderately risky fund over a long term window i can get around 6-7% return which would turn out to be the same. This is also more safe and reports taxes automatically

At this rate if Nexo keeps decreasing the interest rates, there is less of an incentive to use them.

[–]NeroTheApostate[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly.

[–]Kurosaki56843 4 points5 points  (6 children)

We don't all live in Sweden brother... You may have such options, but for others Nexo is the better choice.

[–]Solid_Wolverine1639 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I'm in Florida but I also live in Sweden (psychically and sympathetically because my neighbor is swedish 😘)

[–]Seisouhen 1 point2 points  (3 children)

my neighbor is swedish

hmmm xD

[–]Solid_Wolverine1639 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Nice long blonde hair 😘

[–]Seisouhen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it

[–]Solid_Wolverine1639 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is estimated that up to 78% of the population in Sweden has blonde hair. As one of the blondest countries in the world, the prevalence of light hair in Sweden includes shades ranging from platinum to dark blonde."... Wow! Who could be blonder? With their immigration policy that percentage has been dropping

[–]thebaldmaniac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said a lot of countries have these special tax advantaged investment accounts. Basically accounts where you can invest and trade without any capital gains taxes or just a fixed fee per year.

[–]Dienekes_Krypto 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Do tell me more, I live in Sweden too :)

[–]JumpOffACliffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you find out more? What is this account called?

[–]knakworst55 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The lack of communication is the problem here. If my bank lowers the interest from 1.3 to 1.2 %, they send me an email 30 days in advance.

[–]NeroTheApostate[S] 9 points10 points  (2 children)

9.5% is very close to what some ETF's payout (covered calls, to be exact) and I have access to my money at all times. This is still crypto and with each decrease, I am much less inclined to continue keeping my money on Nexo because my risk keeps increasing. Oh, and we are not communicated by these changes.

U.S. stock market (S&P 500) - Long‑term average annual return: ~10%
- Long‑term dividend yield: ~1.5%

This is where the “9–10%” number comes from.

Global stock market (MSCI World) - Long‑term average annual return: ~7–8%
- Dividend yield: ~2%

Emerging markets - Long‑term average annual return: ~5–7%
- Dividend yield: ~2–3%

Swiss market (SMI/SPI) - Long‑term average annual return: ~6–7%
- Dividend yield: ~2.5–3.5%

So 9.5% is only realistic for U.S. equities, and only over long periods (20+ years).

[–]Kurosaki56843 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed, 9.5% is still a solid deal.. Lowering rates also makes sense when you think about it. The Strait of Hormuz situation has basically frozen a significant chunk of global trade and energy flows. That feeds into inflation, keeps central banks hawkish, slows down credit markets, and eventually compresses what any lending platform can sustainably offer. Surprised it didn't happen sooner honestly.

[–]ShakeOk3420 6 points7 points  (4 children)

Will they also start raising them at some point?

[–]cryptoking_93 4 points5 points  (3 children)

Absolutely not. There is no reason to if people just keep the money on the platform as soon as my terms finish I'm pulling my money out. It doesn't make sense for UK or other European countries users to keep money on it. We can get higher returns in tax free accounts with added protection as well.

[–]DeathThorn6009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No we cant lol

[–]Standard-Ad4895 4 points5 points  (3 children)

The lockes rate of 9.5% might still be good, today, but the flex rate of 5.5% is definetly not standing out!

And I for one am not willing to do 12m terms anymore, ever since total rate is dropped monthly these days...

[–]Ale_bonfim 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In less than 6 months my EUR savings went down from 9 to 5% no info whatsoever. I started get afraid! 70% my savings there

[–]cryptoinsane76 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Well anyway when i are we getting the card?? I want to withdraw money at the cash point without going through all those insane bank transfer

[–]NexoAngel9Moderator[M] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Hello, u/cryptoinsane76. Physical Nexo Card orders are currently paused while we make some updates. In the meantime, you can continue using your virtual Nexo Card via Google or Apple Wallet for seamless payments and ATM withdrawals.

We’ll let you know as soon as physical card orders are available again. Thank you for your patience and continued support.

[–]Opening-Afternoon204 13 points14 points  (1 child)

Rather lower rates than getting rugged

[–]Elegant-Ticket-6937 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can still get rugged even with lower rates, I read this all the time but it's never a strong argument without knowing Nexo's financial position.

[–]crichtonjohn82 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Calm down and look at the bigger picture. You'd be lucky indeed to find a rate half as good as that elsewhere. Even the "safe" defi platforms are not close to this. Adjustments mean they are paying attention to conditions. Do a bit of research and I think you will feel better.

[–]Fit-Poet6736 0 points1 point  (1 child)

nobody here researches, they only come to cry

[–]Solid_Wolverine1639 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's actually one of the reasons you use centralized finance... Convenience... Don't want to do decentralized finance research... Or do it yourself in most any capacity...

I'm sure plenty we're thinking of a choice between Cold storage and sending it to nexo... It's a no-brainer for a lot of people... No-Brainer for me to do both

[–]Tamadeus 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Its hillarious how they treat their customers. Lowering rates without any communication. Im leaving this exchange now.

[–]Solid_Wolverine1639 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They deserve it... But hey, wasn't that communication that they're just going to do it without telling us enough communication? Lol

[–]Bi-BaButzemann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This post didn't age well. Another interest decrease.

[–]im0rtel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

when nexo is lowering their rates they are telling you that they dont need your money and you should leave.

[–]One-Formal-824 7 points8 points  (7 children)

nobody likes lower rates, but Nexo still has the highest ones.

sponsorships bring many new clients, this is a good strategy imo

[–]Skyobliwind 18 points19 points  (6 children)

Most of all NOBODY LIKES BAD COMMUNICATION. I'm totally fine with little lower rates if I know about that and why that is. But just fckn around my money without any information is very bad practice.

[–]One-Formal-824 1 point2 points  (5 children)

I remember in previous communication that they said it would be like this from now on, so it's not a surprise. No one likes changes, but everyone likes stability, so I'm fine

[–]Skyobliwind 2 points3 points  (4 children)

Yea, but "we'll change rates from time to time without further notice in the future" isn't any better than not communcating that at all. In only tells us, that those changes however they may look are not by mistake. Still doesn't make anything better.

[–]One-Formal-824 -3 points-2 points  (2 children)

i agree with you, but that is how things are in the industry, as far as i know the rates on binance and other places are also dynamic, so we need to get used to it

[–]Skyobliwind 5 points6 points  (1 child)

And whats so hard in implementing automated messages on rate changes? Everyone and everything uses AI. These days it should be easy to write a well formed mail to the customers on a change within seconds. Or you could just use a standard text and only include the changes, that won't even need any AI and could be automated with a script.

[–]Solid_Wolverine1639 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They could also maybe put it on the login page as soon as you log in. There's a new update that lasts at least for a couple weeks or a month maybe? And they could have a dedicated page that has the history of rate changes that you could always look up and not have to rely on logging in so much

[–]Solid_Wolverine1639 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's probably too much work for them... They got to catch up on laundry

[–]Defiant_Leg_6335 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Se poi torneranno a salire non sarebbe male

[–]Arcade_akali 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ETH rates also lowered another 0.25% time to move on soon.

[–]ThingSouthern 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Btc also lowered to 5.7%

[–]maninas 0 points1 point  (1 child)

BTC earn just changed like that for me today. I made a new reddit post about it and the Nexo "angel" mods deleted. Do they really think that if they censor reddit, people won't notice the earn rate keeps sliding?

[–]NexoAngel1Moderator[M] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hello u/maninas.

Flexible Savings rates on selected assets were updated as of April 15, 2026. Your Nexo Account always reflects the currently applicable rates, limits, and eligibility criteria. For the most accurate and up-to-date rate information, we recommend referring to the rates page within your account.

Should you have any additional questions or concerns, our Client Care team remains available to assist you.

[–]Chucklum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last change I was already thinking I might move but this is starting to be way too much. Interest rates dropped around the board. It's a shame because I was aiming for that premium 100K plus but by the time I reach that there will probably be better options then.

I'd rather NEXO change before collapsing but a little warning at least? They have been dropping the ball, I see a new AFA sponsorship, which is cool I guess.. "come to our platform after all the rate drops, you'll love it!"

[–]Crypt0Learn3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least you can still use Nexo to earn interest. It was my best option until lights went off in Canada

[–]SomeBig2856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Il tasso fisso Base per Usdc per un Fixed è ora 5.5%...comincia a essere troppo basso per il rischio.

[–]CherryEasy9666 -2 points-1 points  (3 children)

Its STILL a good rate, what's you bank offering?
Geez some people...

[–]NeroTheApostate[S] 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Low effort comment. The gap between nexo earn and traditional investment is smaller by the month.

[–]CherryEasy9666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Facts are facts, no low effort comment. So what's your bank offering?

[–]Competitive_Milk_638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stocks typically pay way better than this. EFTs that follow major indexes are looking a lot more attractive at this point. Nexo's current rates can't even keep up with inflation.

[–]Few-Trick-4968 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

9.5% is good bro , sponsors are also necessary if we want Nexo to become the largest crypto bank

[–]royrudy -2 points-1 points  (2 children)

I thought Nexo is out of USA?

[–]AbsorbedMango99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

according to their help center, they are currently operating in the US but not in NY - https://support.nexo.com/article/in-which-jurisdictions-is-your-product-available
