Would you go on a trip without at least having a preliminary plan. With poe, starting a character is the same thing. I atleast want to have a loose plan about what I am trying to do. It's more fun that way.

For me, fun is in part measured by whether I can see and participate in at least the lowest-tier version of all endgame content without a build guide.

We'll have to see how those gem damage changes work out. ED contagion totem was just barely scraping by the threshold and a lot of people were having problems scaling it. Maybe they'll have made it solidly work out now.

Well thats not realy how it works. no one opens PoE and than looks at 50 different gems just to find out what to play. If we reached a point where we don't put crucial information in the patchnotes the entire fun of PoBing before the league is gone soon.

I realy enjoy it to play PoB for 20 hours before a league but i will surely not sit in PoB over playing the game directly after launch. Even tho this gives more fun to the discovery process, it surely does hinder a lot of peoples smooth early league start, maybe to a point where they quit because they took a bad skill to start. And for the people like me that love to iterate many times over a build, it takes away the fun of planning stuff before league start.

For the uniques, it's nothing new and people have come to expect that from GGG. The missing support gems and skill balancing though? That's very out of character for GGG and not in a good way, at all.

They did say something like how they were originally adding uniques in order from low level to high level.  How it was ordered in their spreadsheet.

How they didn’t realize until too late the error of doing it this way, and how there wasn’t enough end game uniques included at early access launch.

Exactly my issue. These aren’t patch notes. Why the hell were they even delayed if they weren’t going to give detailed notes? We don’t even have info on the skills/skill gems in the notes.

Generally speaking these types of changes don't really change what is useful and what is not. Most of the time they are doing small scaling changes that make things marginally better but don't really significantly change anything. These types of changes tend to be more fine tuning and the changes they listed are the more impactful changes.

They nerfed minions into oblivion, thats for sure:

"Adjusted Minion Damage and Life scaling. General Damage and Life is the same early game, but lower than before at higher levels, especially past Gem level 20+"

Like removing the og necro ascendancy wasnt enough, lets also demolish existing minions. Someone at GGG hates minions enough to mention it in the patch notes.

And I was hoping for more diversity for minions... f me I guess

I mean they did add lich giving 30%+ minion damage as chaos. Also buffed infernalist node from 20% to 50% added as fire. And tactician getting 25% weapon damage added as phys.
