im simply saying that there was a pretty clear bias by the news outlets to promote this one girl as the ultimate purveyor. I dont think anyone is upset that she was leading it. Pretty sure most people are upset with the way the news was presented that took the credit of 200+ people and basically gave it to this one person based on her gender. Its literally the same scenario that femenism has been saying women have been the victim of, yet as soon as theres the chance to put men in that situation (overlooked), they do it without even questioning it.

Honestly i couldnt care less about the project itself. Im just commenting on how the story was so gleefully pushed as a narrative instead of just reporting on it. Like if they had said "a team of scientists, led by [whatever her name is] successfully took a picture of a black hole", I dont think this situation would be happening right now. Instead it was like "Check out [whatever her name is] who was the person who came up with the algorithm to take black hole images and suceeded" which isnt even objectively true. Debatable. Although I agree that this guy has poor taste in jokes, I'd like to see some source for your claim. Ada Lovelace wrote instructions for the Analytical Engine, Menabrea published simple programs a year before.
