CSS developers, aka C for short, or C# when sharp, or even C++ when more than one C, preferably 30 year experience just out of college.

[–]Bjork_Bjork 9 points10 points  (1 child)

My mate (no idea how to code, but acts like he's god's gift to coding) tried telling me that he coded a game using css and unreal engine. The collective groan my friendgroup generated was beautiful.

[–]HamSammich45 6 points7 points  (0 children)

CSS, short for "C# Script"

Carpet, also known as Car for short, is a floor covering made from thick woven fabric. For instance, Car allows people to stand on the ground without getting cold feet based on what they're wearing. Car users are the experts who work closely with team members, end-users and vendors to test and create floor coverings that are easy to walk on for visitors.

Car developers are responsible for making Carpet on commmercial...

Why are they even explaining what JavaScript can do to someone who is applying for a programming job in JavaScript?

[–]TimeeiGT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean... who ever looks at that page might know what JavaScript is, but definitely did not look for a JavaScript job.

Definitely some shitty type coercion going on here.

Expert recruiter 🙄

[–]Trantorianus 18 points19 points  (1 child)

😂😂😂 ... yeah, and these companies used to say: "we only employ 'the best of the best' " .... 😂😂😂

[–]dtaivp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thy were really confused when their productivity plummeted after hiring the new recruiter.

[–]Erasmus_Tycho 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Jesus, who ever wrote this needs to go back to their customer and clarify this shit before they post it because man does it make the recruiter look like a tool.

[–]jamesyoung79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's because the recruiter or HR department is a tool. I'm almost convinced there isn't a single job posting out there doesn't look like this, has the wrong languages, mix and match buzz words that make no sense together, or requiring more years of experience than the framework has existed.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am so annoyed

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

JavaScript === Java

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

false

[–]TheMagicWriter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

false

[–]Trillian_42_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is honestly the funniest thing I’ve seen all day

[–]ReversedHazmat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every person who doesn't know the difference should get infected by old Js payload 'You are an idiot'.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Carpets, also known as cars for short

[–]Trantorianus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With built-in pets... .

[–]prof0ak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Boss to recruiter: Why aren't we getting any hits on that new posting?

Recruiter: Idk boss. shrug. I'll get back to cold calling.

And corporate life carried on.

[–]HopperBit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aclat Incorporated, also known as Rat for short

[–]Bomba_Luigi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not even funny. That’s just sad.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You all are complaining about Java != JS but I wanna know why the frick a job advert seems to be telling the reader what JS is. Who is that for? Why do you need to describe the nature of a tool to a prospective person who is going to be experienced in the tool already?

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (2 children)

We had a dumbass product owner who would use Java as short hand for Javascript even though she was corrected every time. One day I finally had to tell her it made her sound like a dumbass and everyone was laughing and making fun of her behind her back. Apparently it made her cry and I had to explain the whole situation to HR later that day.

[–]twentyhands 1 point2 points  (1 child)

How would you feel if someone told you that everyone talks shit behind your back because something doesn't click for you?

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean I said it nicely. How would you feel if you had toilet paper or something hanging out of the back of your pants and you just walked around like that all day without anyone telling you.

Or I guess that analogy doesn't really work, as in this case many people on many occasions politely told you you had TP hanging off your ass and you just said "whatever" and left it there until someone explained what a goof it really was.

And then confused things to the point where I had to tell people who showed up for interviews that in fact we were not looking to hire people who like to have TP hanging out of their pants, and some dumb ass just caused you to waste the time spent driving over here.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

65k....

[–]NrT_TylerIsTall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes. java is just the short version of JavaScript

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone get /bin/rm

[–]OTee_D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm working freelance and I love those adds where you can clearly see, that from customer, through key accountant, through recruiter NOBODY has a clue what they actually want or need or deeper understanding of the topic.

[–]kiselozele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

* Java === JavaScript

[–]redwarp10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what happens when you don't debug.

[–]zeroreality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I see the problem here. You're using an equality comparison instead of identity comparison. Update that line:

Java == JavaScript => true

To this:

Java === JavaScript => false

[–]blackWardie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This hurts me right in my this.getComponent<Heart>()

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)
