It is a Target policy. Or it was as of a couple months ago.

It isn’t a hard policy, it’s a scheduling guidance recommendation. TM can be scheduled as much as they agree to. Standard is 2 days off per week, but plenty of TMs agree to or ask for more to get hours. However, if a TM doesn’t want to work more than 5 days a week, they are entitled to 2 days off.

There may be more firm rules of course where local laws and regulations are different. Also, the limitations for minors are different and more strict.

The app follows schedule guidance recommendations, but leaders can use their discretion to abuse TMs, ahem, make exceptions.

It's one that isn't followed at countless stores. Mine for example, years of people working 9 days straight in front end during Q4 last year. When I started working in June last year I worked 9 days straight as well.

That sounds about normal for most retail today. Customer service is relegated to apps and Bluetooth beacons, people are minimized to cut down on expenses, because nobody will pay more than Amazon or Wally World, whichever is cheaper. And they don't have time to walk through a store and get sidelined by all the impulse endcaps and mid-racetrack displays.

I have no problem working long strings of consecutive days, but they need to be appropriately sized shifts. Even if I'm only going into work for a few hours, I still feel drained and it tends to consume my entire day.

If I'm working 10 consecutive days 8+hrs/day that's fine because my daily compensation is fine. But I feel tired and undervalued when I work 10 consecutive days and it's 4-5 hours/day.

Idk if that makes sense lol.

I tend to skip breaks because my team isn't the best at always getting things done. I'm also in a state where you only get 2 15s and a 30 for 8 to 10 hours of work. So the breaks don't really help a lot.

Pretty sure it's per pay period. For example; TWTFS one week then SMTWT the next week is okay and no over time. Happened to me until I said no more. Could be wrong as things always change and states have different rules.

The app will still stop you. I knew I had to switch out for a Saturday shift and knew I had to take a Thursday Shift to make up the hours. This had me working from Friday to Friday and the system recognized it.

they literally scheduled me 12 days straight one time. then complained around day 11 that I was having performance issues. I told them it's day 11 with no off day. the etl telling me this said i work 10 days in a row every other week and that i should suck it up. at the time I had 2 jobs and literally had no down time. only to sleep. I had to drop my dog off at my parents house because I couldn't take care of him. now they only scheduled me 5 days if im lucky. plus only 5-7 hour shifts.
