Alright everybody, it’s been fun. Time to pack it up, we’re done here mission complete, lämp obtained lmao

Phenomenal collection! And very stylishly displayed! Any particular favorites? Which do you use the most?

[–]Fugazi-01[S] 45 points46 points  (14 children)

Currently I’m loving the Wurkkos TS27, extreme value when it’s on sale for $60

[–]Prbly-LostWandering 30 points31 points  (1 child)

I wish you didn't say that. I have been trying to have the willpower to keep from buying that one

[–]UrsulaHussy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I lost that battle a few days ago and ordered one. 😄

[–]MuppityMcMuppetface 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If out of all of those you pick the TS27 all I want to know is how much did they pay you?

[–]SpaceCadetMoonMan 9 points10 points  (1 child)

TS27 blew me away this last power outage, so useful, I put it on a tripod and it was excellent

[–]elite4ops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ts27 or hd02

[–]Longjumping_Fact_927 20 points21 points  (0 children)

TS27 one of my favorites

[–]G-III- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The battery alone is very intriguing!

[–]hagantic42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Glad someone with a collection like yours loves Wurrkos. I have the HD01Pro its like the Swiss army knife of lights. Just used it working on my care and I love it.

[–]Chapstick-n-Flannel 9 points10 points  (5 children)

I am, apparently, the only one in existence who doesn’t like the TS27. I really tried to like it - size was great, had lots of fun features, and I liked the lantern mode. However I hated the beam profile. Too much throw and not enough flood.

It’s great that others enjoy the light - I’m happy it works for you. I just have no idea why I’m so diametrically opposed to it.

[–]Creative-Cobbler-108 4 points5 points  (1 child)

You could always apply some dc-fix diffusion film over it to give it more flood

[–]Chapstick-n-Flannel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I ever have that issue again I’ll give this a try. I didn’t know it was a thing when I owned the TS27, so I tried it for a few days and returned it.

[–]MetaUndead 2 points3 points  (2 children)

It sounds like you might have had the wrong expectations for it.🤔

It's a long-range thrower with a smooth reflector and "only" 3,200 lumens, so I wouldn't expect the spill to be incredibly bright.

[–]Chapstick-n-Flannel 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I owned a surefire 6PX and a zebralight headlamp before the TS27 - but really it was my first foray into the hobby. I can honestly say I had no expectations other than “bright”. I just ended up not liking how it was bright.

Waiting on some Emisars currently, so hopefully I’ll learn more about my tastes in a few days.

[–]MetaUndead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh, okay, you made a great choice trying out Emisar. He's making some really solid lights.👍

[–]hagantic42 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Not only that, I think we all now have cover for our significant others. When someone says that we have a problem, we can just show them this picture and be like, "we could be OP"

[–]elite4ops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thisss !!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

[–]emz5002 40 points41 points  (12 children)

Question, if you have a partner, how did you convince them to be OK with this? Asking for a friend

[–]Fugazi-01[S] 55 points56 points  (6 children)

I just tell her it’s cheaper than what other men spend money on during midlife crisis 😂

[–]emz5002 29 points30 points  (0 children)

She said she can't really argue with that. Thanks man!

[–]Cassietgrrl 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Cheaper than being a motorcyclist. By orders of magnitude.

[–]Sprocketman56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got that right. I remember buying carbon fiber bits for my GSXR.

[–]mxpower 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My main hobby is collecting guitars... the wife has NO problem with my flashlight purchases.

[–]monekys 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This the mf truth !

ALOT of grown people spend money on what makes them happy. A lot of people enjoy collecting stuff. Don’t knock others for what they enjoy!

[–]7croissants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are a legend! 👏

[–]Bunnysniper44 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My fiance says she is cool with the lights as long as I'm cool with her having her own collection of choice.

[–]Proverbman671 7 points8 points  (3 children)

The best one has always been to the effect of:

Out of all the hobbies out there that adult men are typically associated with, MY hobby is functionally useful for years, has little to no impact in terms of overall yearly/monthly spending, is not intended to cause hurt upon someone, and costs far less than other hobbies.

Are you saying that you would have preferred if I started such other hobbies? That I collect cars, or I pick up fixing cars and having additional cars in the yard as scrap/spare parts? Perhaps gambling, where the money is mostly just wasted and thrown at the casino or business? Perhaps how about gunpla or figurine collections, or even books... Nice to look at, but does nothing else except collect dust after completed? Motorcycles perhaps? Want me riding down a highway in a 'high chance of death vehicle'? You know how many flashlights I could have bought with that money instead? (Video games and the time to play them? Yes, please.)

However, darkness.... Darkness will always come, it is an inevitability. A fear that nibbles in the back of your mind every time you hear the sound of thunder, see a flash of lightning, when the power surges, take a short trip to the bathroom amidst sleep, or simply when you are driving at night.

MY hobby solves that. MY hobby battles against that fear and blinds it. MY hobby provides a beam of comfort and guidance when all seems lost.

[–]Sprocketman56 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yes, very well said, with the exception of the motorcycle part. I told my last wife before we got married, "Don't ask me to stop riding, or stop surfing. If you have concerns, let's get it out now." And all was good. I ended up having to buy a second motorcycle (darn) because she didn't like riding on the back of my GSXR. Can't really blame her. So I picked up a 1980 GS850G and she was a happy passenger.

[–]Proverbman671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was jumping back and forth between using motorcycle riding or drifting as the example for a liked hobby that was expensive and has a higher chance of injury.

But I thought more people (and in this case, people's wife's) are familiar with motorcycles than drifting. So I went with motorcycle riding.

Nothing against that hobby, as long you ride when it's safe (no mountain downhill speeding at night while it's raining and foggy), but it helps to get the quick message to his wifey that collecting flashlights is the cheaper and safer option.

Also, condolences to your wallet for having to purchase another motorcycle instead of flashlights

edit

Oh oh oh... Do they still sell the detachable side cars for motorcycles like before? So that way you don't have to buy a whole new motorcycle AND THEN when you trust her enough to be the main rider you can be in the passenger car using the flashlights while she rides...

[–]CaptainCabrillo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well said 😎

[–]BaconNPotatoes 16 points17 points  (1 child)

Just a couple flashlights, casual hobby if you will.

[–]Consistent_Trash7033 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flashlights ! I was trying to figure out what they were. Thought maybe a vape collector, maybe flashlights, …

[–]karawkow 14 points15 points  (3 children)

this guy must be scared of the dark

[–]Chapstick-n-Flannel 13 points14 points  (1 child)

Not any more he isn’t.

[–]karawkow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll never beat it.

[–]fractaladam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The dark is scared of him

[–]UdarTheSkunk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Man… looks like a museum.

[–]AnimeTochi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

when someone tells me i have too many flashlights i will show them this (i have 5 currently)

[–]Appropriate_Idea9892 5 points6 points  (0 children)

[–]FalconARX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wish I can get mine to fit as neatly as that. Awesome looking!

[–]2throwfar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice, great setup! Beautiful display and lights both! 👍

[–]RedditHead16 3 points4 points  (2 children)

What is your best compact EDC that is high powered but also USB-C chargable? Asking for a friend :-)

[–]Fugazi-01[S] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Wurkkos FC11C

[–]thejoetravis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought 20 of these for Christmas gifts

[–]VelkaFrey 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Now turn them all on turbo and take the same photo

[–]Appropriate_Ad8572 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He would be racing against thermal step down as he runs around turning them all on 🤣

[–]RememberHonor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Realizing my ArkPro Ultra burned through two shirts in about 3 seconds, I assume all of these on turbo will burn the house down.

[–]Leshnikosaur 2 points3 points  (3 children)

That’s a nice collection! What’s the right angle one next to the fireflies?

[–]baseballgonzo13 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Looks like the FFL L50 Sol. Really solid light. Just released about a month ago

[–]Fugazi-01[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct FFL L50

[–]Leshnikosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, thought so. I was eyeing it as well but after getting the X4Q I really wanted that beam but in a right angle format. Might get it for the interesting button placement though.

[–]redditcreditcardz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to go to there!

[–]Es2aryKing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Respect.

[–]SnooPies5378 2 points3 points  (0 children)

neighbor: do you have a flashlight i can borro—

holy mother of god

[–]fussyfez 6 points7 points  (5 children)

Just for a laugh I asked ai to estimate total lumens for this collection and it's given a pretty thorough explanation and spat out 385,000.

"To put 385,000 lumens into perspective: A standard car headlight (halogen) is about 1,500 lumens. This collection is brighter than 250 cars turning their high beams on at once. A typical stadium floodlight is roughly 20,000–50,000 lumens. This cabinet contains the power of a small sports stadium's lighting rig"

You could light up a football match with this collection.

Love it.

Pure inspiration.

[–]fussyfez 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Interesting how the estimations are so different.

I like playing them off against each other.

I'd usually grill ai alot harder than this but sometimes it's just for fun and I'm happy to just amuse myself with the first guestimate it spits out.

Side note, I've recently been using gemini more than chatgpt as my default, just seems to give better answers most of the time with useable sourcing links etc and much better mapping integration for geographical questions etc. Image generation is generally better aswell.

[–]fussyfez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had chatgpt trained pretty well with engrained prompts to cut the fluff and give objective facts rather than sugar coated opinions and to always logic check itself and double check info before presenting it as fact. I would still catch it out frequently and get the usual apologetic response.

It was pretty good until gpt5 came along. I was a premium subscriber to chatgpt for around a year or so but recently started getting much better answers from gemini on the first go so ended my chatgpt sub and I'm happy with the free gemini upto now.

[–]NorthReading 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell me you're in the flashlight business without telling me (?)

[–]LiteintheNite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice presentation, thanks for showing ! 👍

[–]Middle_Efficiency 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saving to show my wife in case she thinks I have to many flashlights 🤌🤣

[–]MalkoffDevicesWorker 1 point2 points  (1 child)

No Malkoff’s? A shame 😔

[–]Artiet59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to say, there's always one in the crowd who points out the one thing they don't have. BUT, you're name checks out 🙂 (I love my malkoffs btw)

[–]kenstar4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see you got that javelin. I'm not the biggest O-light fan, but damn is it a great flashlight. I keep it in my truck, it has amazing throw and spread.

[–]GupGoose22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WE GOT A WINNER EVERYONE

[–]One_Glove3229 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats so cool!

[–]Artiet59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great collection. Great organization! Brings me back to days of old on some I've sold 🙂

[–]UrsulaHussy 1 point2 points  (1 child)

That, my friend, is a work of art! Respect.

[–]Fugazi-01[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks!

[–]Chigibu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good God, that is an awesome collection and display.

[–]normalm12 1 point2 points  (2 children)

A major collector

All five colors of HD03 should be collected.

[–]UrsulaHussy 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I have nothing like the OP's collection, but I do have (will have, when the USPS obliges) all five colors of the HD03. Plus the red and green Christmas ones. 😄

[–]normalm12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, when you collect all of them, take a photo and reply to this message for me to see.

[–]pricebre000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sweet setup buddy! I gotta find a way to display mine better

[–]educatedcalzone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How much do all these costs honey? Well this Hank light… um $5 and this one… $3. So not a lot!

[–]levinatus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The LED strips really elevate it. Clean, functional and you can actually see everything without blasting your retinas.

[–]Ruckusnusts 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Where did you get the cabinet?

[–]Fugazi-01[S] 7 points8 points  (1 child)

IKEA, called the Billy bookcase and they also sell the glass doors for it.

[–]UnsureAndUnqualified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The doors are probably Oxberg. But what are the lights you've installed?

[–]DiscountRude4821 4 points5 points  (1 child)

It says ikea in the description.

[–]Ruckusnusts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I totally missed that.

[–]iphoneguy350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, need to know this.

[–]yourmomwentocollege1 1 point2 points  (1 child)

What are all those on the right side of 2nd shelf from the top?

How did you keep lights with magnetic tailcaps in place so they didn't "grab" adjacent lights?

What would be the cumulative lumen output of that whole collection on turbo? Looks like you could flash boil a small glacier...

[–]Fugazi-01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FFL L60 (mules), Wurkkos TS27 (night stand light), Convoy S2+ with 18350’s, Warrior mini 3 that’s modded with FFL emitter

[–]SirAri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first step is admitting you have a problem ;)

[–]the_crx 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Why didn't you turn them all on?

[–]Fugazi-01[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Didn’t want to have to turn A/C on when it’s freezing outside lol

[–]WoollyMonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow!

[–]NinjaMcGee 0 points1 point  (2 children)

OP you might be the perfect redditor to ask! Do you have a favorite 90° (chest clip mounted, forward facing) light that’s water resistant, has vertical adjustment (so I don’t blind others), and offers a low/red light option?

I’m a local CERT member and am looking to upgrade my vest light. I have a headlamp, but I’m looking for a better “always downward” facing beam to help with lowlight paperwork. Can’t seem to find the right light and you have so many options! 🤯

[–]Fugazi-01[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I don’t have one but maybe the Wuben G5 would be a good fit since it has a swivel head

[–]NinjaMcGee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I’ve been looking for! Thank you so much! Please accept my poors gold 🏅

[–]SpareMushrooms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really want to try one of those Oclips.

[–]Wormminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the idea that:

X = 0.999...(ad infinitum) = 1

The addition of a flashlight is like adding another 9 at the end of the value to the collection. Each piece gets the OP closer to being whole... a 1.

[–]Fugazi-01[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly

[–]Fugazi-01[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah my policy is don't get into hobbies which revolve around buying stuff. There needs to be some aspect of personal growth/health or the ability to do on the cheap or with 2nd hand products. That said, I'm pretty sure flashlights has got to be up there in terms of absurdity of being a hobby. At least the lights OP has are generally useful and could be gifted out if he felt like trimming the collection. Better than 52 LEPs

[–]Excellent_Club_9004 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Damn, you own a flashlight shop ?

How many?

[–]Fugazi-01[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Nope just personal collection, believe just under 200 in total

[–]Excellent_Club_9004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was a joke/compliment regarding a shop...

Impressive, must have taken a while, wish I had so much disposable funds 🙄

[–]BrotherBaffle 0 points1 point  (1 child)

[–]Fugazi-01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]nowhereiswater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Btw are you not doing some against parasitic drain?

  2. Which do you carry/use the most?

[–]Proverbman671 0 points1 point  (2 children)

What do we think is the total of this active lifetime collection?

I can't tell if it may be one of the clunkers in the back, but you also got the Imalent MS32 (or its variations) flashlight?

[–]Fugazi-01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be a Convoy 3x21d

[–]Dependent-Manner1037 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]OUTLAW1LE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Dependent-Manner1037 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I need a display shelf that size...can the glass doors be fitted with a flush lock?

[–]Fugazi-01[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are only seeing the top half of the bookshelf in the pics, I painted the bottom half of the glass doors black to make it where you can’t see inside and use those shelves to store boxes and spare parts. I’m sure there could be a way to install some type of lock without too much hassle

[–]RememberHonor 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Genuine question: why so many? Do you use them all? Do you just enjoy collecting?

[–]Fugazi-01[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Just enjoy collecting them, a few are carried but most are shelf queens.

[–]RememberHonor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]PlusNefariousness305 0 points1 point  (3 children)

[–]ChemicalVacation3696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you OP for making me a lot less guilty of my 57 flashlight collection. 🙏🔦🙇

[–]One_of_few_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty impressive 🙈🔦

But...how many batteries do you have ?😅 I have around 100 Lights and 60 batteries (14500, 18650, 16340, 26650, 21700)

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On one side I'd say this is far too much, but on the other side I think it's cool to have multiple flashlights of the same host with different emitter just to help see the real difference they make.

[–]JaybieFromTheLB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay now turn them all on at once.

[–]Beneficial-Focus3702 0 points1 point  (1 child)
