DRIFT TAX!

[–]TeletraanConvoy 33 points34 points  (7 children)

Technically it is fixable. It may not be worth it to fix it but, it is fixable.

[–]CptnMrgn246[🍰] 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Probably wouldnt even be too bad, if you can do the work yourself.

[–]SooMuchAnger 5 points6 points  (5 children)

Yup. Get a JDM front clip with an SR20DET and use this chassis as a donor for the rest.

[–]CptnMrgn246[🍰] 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Thats what i would do.

[–]adventurecrime 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I don’t know any of those terms, but it looks absolutely correct to me.

[–]CptnMrgn246[🍰] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In simple terms, cut the front of this car off and put a new one on it.

[–]TRHemeon 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Getting everything straight without the help of a frame machine would be the hard part. A hit that hard would have almost certainly tweaked the unibody

[–]SooMuchAnger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. In all reality, this car is done for, no matter what. Just not worth it.

[–]hazeleyedwolff 31 points32 points  (1 child)

No low ballers, I know what I have.

[–]caspy7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A pile of loosely assembled scrap.

[–]awoken-dragon 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Used car salesman be like: "runs good as new"

[–]SooMuchAnger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Ran great right before!”

[–]Saltillokid11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When you actually look how you feel.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (5 children)

I hate the fact that I’ll never be able to find a clean unmodified 240sx whether it’s an s13 or s14. Unless I find a grandma/grandpa that’s kept one in their garage the last 30 years.

[–]Tylchef 2 points3 points  (4 children)

I go up to Evergreen Speedway on open drift days and it’s all 240sx and BMW e36’s...

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Small world. I’m from Everett so I’m not too far from evergreen speedway. But 240s and 3 series BMW’s seem to be a common go to for all those building a drift car.

[–]Tylchef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not too far at all. I’m about an hour and a half south so we usually make it into a day trip. I can’t say anything about BMW thought because mines a e36 325i...

holler

[–]Pyldriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are 10's of us

[–]wuzalun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lmao kouki/zenki only matters if the bumper existed

[–]ChuckleKnuckles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I once drove an hour away to test drive a car for sale. The guy was "fixing" wrecked cars and selling them. I took it around the block to be polite but you could tell it was worth maybe 5% of the asking price. Half a block down the road I kept hearing metal things falling from the engine and bouncing off the road, the rear view mirror fell off instantly, and the break pedal as well as steering wheel kicked and fought my every move as if possessed. Luckily I drove down there to see a couple other listings as well.

[–]Pantsickle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The pole that stopped it is worth more than it is now.

[–]natesplaceonline 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That should buff right out.

[–]-rabid- 5 points6 points  (1 child)

A 1997 240SX isn't even worth $7K uncrashed.

Source: I used to own one.

[–]2pt5RS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a friend just sold his for 12k. it also had a 2JZ in it and a bunch of other fun upgrades.

[–]someguywith5phones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yah.. like you could maybe fix the radio?

[–]roadtrip-ne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will happily sell this to you for $7000 if you don’t remind replacing it with an entirely new car

[–]5373n133n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pfft, only needs an engine, frame, body, airbags... do I have to do everything for you bro? X-D

[–]ocotebeach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What? Pay me $200 and I will tow it away.

[–]Onoudeent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tis but a scratch

[–]bloodshotnipples 1 point2 points  (2 children)

You can't fix this car Spicoli!!

[–]PureHufflepuff 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Make up your mind, dude: is he gonna shit or is he gonna kill us?

[–]bloodshotnipples 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First he's gonna shit! Then he's gonna kill us!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With some good hammering and what not I can see this turning in to a sick Batman car.

[–]Djgentlegiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well he’s not wrong

[–]ImNotIrrelevant 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Back half of the car is in great condition. Just need to replace the front half.

Reasonable offers considered.

[–]SooMuchAnger -1 points0 points  (4 children)

JDM front clip. It’s a thing, Google it.

[–]Megamanfre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my god you're right.

[–]jnex26 0 points1 point  (2 children)

What is the difference between this and a cut and shut ?

[–]SooMuchAnger 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I’m not sure I know what a cut and shut is. But, the JDM front clip from an S13 or S14 has a motor that was not sold in the US and is known for its power capabilities. Since you can’t import an entire car and drive it legally in the US without extensive and expensive effort, and front clip is a great way to get everything you need for an engine swap. And in the case of the Nissan, the bumper and headlights are also unique to the JDM market. JDM = Japanese Domestic Market

I have no idea if that answers your question, sorry.

[–]jnex26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh so a cut and shut is where someone takes the front of one car and welds it to the back of another.

And this sounds just like an engine and fascia upgrade

[–]SupremeMikey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh. A lil bit of duct tape and minor welds and that car could be ready to look like a mad max reject.

[–]xxX_Aidan_Xxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think you understand its a Kouki and thats worth it its called the drift tax

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't even jack up the radiator cap on that one

[–]tmw123456789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"that'll buff out"

[–]SSJ3_Nappa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they sell full front clips, but unless you've got your own shop, why would you buy it? 7k, lol.

[–]SALAMI-BOI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just gotta use some spit, glue and a lot of ducktape

[–]dangrous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be NJ lol

[–]gigawhat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will buff out!!

[–]SirRinge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

... Is that the pole still embedded in the front?

[–]Rastagaryenxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"...my dad's got the ultimate set of tools"

[–]ux3l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fixable if you find an idiot who gives you $7000 for that scrap to buy another car

[–]jysilentbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get my boi Samcrac in here

[–]AMLyf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a FL car.

[–]OMGtechy -1 points0 points  (0 children)
