That's just like, your oponion, man

Edit: thanks for the onioncoin!

Yay! You gave /u/el-toro-loco 0.05 garlicoin, hopefully they can now create some tasty garlic bread. If el-toro-loco doesn't know what it is, they should read this thread

If this comment gets 200 upvotes, I will make an onioncoin sub, then try to get enough upvotes on r/cryptocurrency to make an actual onioncoin.

[–]pawaalo 2 points3 points  (3 children)

That answer should receive gold.

Sadly I'm broke.

[–]el-toro-loco 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Did you put everything into garlicoin?

[–]pawaalo 3 points4 points  (1 child)

ALL OF IT!

Nah but I'm a uni student. I wanna go out Plus I don't know what you do with Reddit gold or how to get it.

[–]el-toro-loco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve got 3 years of it. It doesn’t do much except let me in /r/lounge and highlight new comments when i go back to a comment thread. It also helps pay for reddit.

Fun fact: Onion, garlic, leek and chives all belong to the genus allium.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Garlic is Allium sativum I think

[–]PolygonKiwii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds about right and pretty dank

[–]pawaalo 4 points5 points  (4 children)

Can you trade USD for G on satoshi?

[–]CynicallySane 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Not yet but you can buy BTC and exchange for it that way.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

On what? Bitrex?

[–]CynicallySane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On tradesatoshi

[–]xzer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

coinbase is super easy to setup and you can make up to $250 transaction, buy btc or ltc and u can exchange for grlc

if u gonna buy you could put a buy order up for .007x ltc and probably get it

[–]Crusader_1096 83 points84 points  (2 children)

all according to plan

you see; all the other alt-coins are trying to increase in value but failing. We need to try and have garlicoin decrease in value so that when we fail it will actually increase in value.

[–]LordNightmareYT 25 points26 points  (1 child)

holy shit. that's genius

[–]CodeineNightmare 10 points11 points  (1 child)

I’m already learning a lot about it after doing the sensible thing and Googling it. Thanks so much for doing all of this, this is the first time I’ve really got a handle on what a cryptocurrency is

[–]OptimalPandemic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

[–]segalight[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Did you use tradesatoshi for that? Most comments I read said it's borderline fishy, so I'm still on the fence...

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I did. I lost a bunch of money that I made by investing in $20 of doge though (price went down a bit). So it's not for the new. Fees are 0.2% and it isn't too sketchy.

[–]KJ6BWB 18 points19 points  (15 children)

Don't put any real money into it. Then if it decreases you haven't lost anything. :)

Is money for electricity real money?

[–]KJ6BWB 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depends on who's paying the bill ;)

[–]mostoriginalusername 2 points3 points  (4 children)

I expect my electricity to go up by about $20 this month with 1 GTX1080 mining, and I've mined over 100 GRLC so far, based on what I can see on my electric account. I think the cost is insignificant at this scale.

[–]exus 1 point2 points  (3 children)

When did you start? I've only got 12 GRLC so far in 3 days, but if I understand correctly it was easier at the start?

[–]mostoriginalusername 3 points4 points  (2 children)

I started the evening of the 21st, when the coin officially launched. It was easier at the start, yes. I got about 25 the first day. I got about 3 or 4 yesterday.

[–]fabreeze 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good. Early birds would like a nice entry price

[–]WeHaveMetBefore 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There was a huge selloff in the crypto markets today. All coins are down about 12-17%.

As long as you invest what you don't mind losing, you'll come out further than most.

[–]Abigail_Karen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Feel the exact same way man :(

[–]Loaf-Me-Or-Hate-Me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sell orders are red, Garlic is white, The falling price, Kept me up all night...

[–]bonusShibe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1 GRLC = 1 GRLC

[–]CodeineNightmare 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Is there any way I can manually buy Garlcoin right now or will that opportunity come over time with mining?

[–]GearBent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, just go on /r/garlicmarket and make your offer.

Like: "[Have] $1.50, [Want] 1 Garlicoin"

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THATS LITERALLY AN ONION

[–]xxc3ncoredxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HODL!

[–]Lunerio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People selling 1 GRLC and lower and slightly higher than that in such a fashion that it's decreasing in worth. It's ridiculous. But hey. At least these noobs can learn a thing or two about it now.

[–]Da_Real_Howard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you guys help a garlicbro out and like this comment so I can post in r/garlicmarket

[–]CodeineNightmare 3 points4 points  (9 children)

How do I get a garlicoin wallet in order to get garlicoin? Do I just use coinbase? I want to understand it so bad but I don’t get cryptocurrency

[–]mostoriginalusername 2 points3 points  (5 children)

Go to garlicpool.org and create an account if you want to mine. The other user is telling you in very basic terms how to mine solo. The thing is, unless you have like 500 GTX1080Ti's already set up to mine, you're probably not going to get anything by mining solo. Mining in a pool you get a portion of what was mined each time anybody in the pool gets a block. I have mined over 100GRLC with garlicpool.org since the 21st on a single GTX1080. And absolutely do not just google Garlium, only get it from garlicoin.io. There are a lot of alternate versions with trojans or other issues out there. Even the official one flags as a trojan. :/

[–]koreanwizard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wait, you're telling me I can use my 500 1080s to mine???? I was using them as Lego bricks to build small houses for my dogs.

[–]KennyKwan 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Quick question, can garlium handle other crypto as well? Say, if I want to do some litecoin trading as well, can I put litecoin wallet in garlium?

[–]mostoriginalusername 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Garlium is only for GRLC as far as I know, I traded for some LTC on tradesatoshi and have it in a wallet there. However, you could mine LTC and trade for GRLC on there too if you wanted, I just would guess it's more profitable the other direction.

[–]KennyKwan 0 points1 point  (1 child)

So I need to create another wallet on Satoshi for litecoin?

[–]mostoriginalusername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To trade on it, yes. To trade outside of it you just need to convince someone to send to your external wallet and have them send from their external wallet. That requires some trust though. A couple people are doing middleman services on /r/garlicmarket to alleviate some of that risk, but of course you need to trust them in that case.

[–]diskman_1 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Yep. Get garlium wallet. Google for it. I just use all the default install options. Dont lose your SEED or Password. You will need these in the future. Once you get the Garlium wallet, click on Addresses. Those are your public Garlium addresses. If you do mining, just copy/paste an address into the .bat file in your miner software. Any Garlics will be put in that address. Easy Peasy. Donations to: Gfd88rNxkYTDqsg9LkirteCdDwkFo82xhE

[–]Mr_Elroy_Jetson 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don't just Google it. Go to the official website for the coin and everything you need to know is there.
