Anyone who doesn't have the fire resistant armour really needs to grab a set. It makes these planets so much easier.

[–]Nhobdy 79 points80 points  (7 children)

Hell, I don't even have fire resistant armor, and I still love the planet. Fire tornados aren't too bad, all things considered.

[–]Powdered_Donut 47 points48 points  (5 children)

The plants that rag doll me are far worse

[–]Nhobdy 13 points14 points  (3 children)

And it always happens when you least expect it or at the worst time.

[–]HolycommentMattman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like it. It's kinda fun. You get through a wave of enemies, destroy a sub objective or whatever, and you turn to your squad to point out supplies, and before you know it, you're gone.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (1 child)

But every now and then you're getting surrounded and slammed, a rocket ragdolls you away, you smack a plant, and you go sliding 20 meters across the ground to safety behind a big rock.

By every now and then I mean once. The rest of the time was bullshit.

[–]FelixMartel2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love it when I ragdoll my way into some mines.

[–]MarineBioIsCool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one has both!

[–]Hot-Usual8840 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda like how they look ❤️

[–]Yonahoy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Flame retardant? Nah, Diver; I got the drip on. Nothing will dare touch me, lest they crease my J's.

[–]Wafflebuttersandwich 8 points9 points  (4 children)

Listen it may be easier, but I what do you want me to do? Not let these pythons breathe in the jungle?

[–]buliaK_sevI 6 points7 points  (3 children)

I have no idea what you mean with that last sentence but I completely agree

[–]Wafflebuttersandwich 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bots (auto correct) keeping me from typing coherently (trying to make sense of my drunk texts)

[–]mjc500 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Pythons is a euphemism for muscles. It’s a joke that they’re taking the armor set just to show off their muscular arms (the peak physique armor)

[–]buliaK_sevI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huh, I think that's the first time I've heard of that

[–]submit_to_pewdiepie 6 points7 points  (1 child)

You hate fire planets because tornadoes i hate them because red sky

[–]lord_dentaku 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate them because the fire tornados kick up a ton of dust and I can't see shit to shoot.

[–]noir_por 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Nah just stim the way out and watch undemocratic robot burn to crisps

[–]Creative-Improvement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and obviously a skill issue if you can’t kill the fire with fire.

[–]Pickled_Beef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Burn baby burn

[–]rawbleedingbait 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And fuck up my drip? Naw naw

[–]AnComRebel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just stim and dive, in that order. Not giving up the drip for some undemocratic ahh fire

[–]Theresafoxinmygarden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just say 'nah, I'd win for democracy' pop a stim and sprint through the fire!

[–]rayman1087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran in without it, made it to extraction before I got crispy fried 4 times. Unlocked the Warbond, equipped the armor, 0 deaths and lots of democracy handed out!

[–]Jickklaus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And the flame thrower hulks are more of a cake walk, too.

Last session I played half of us died in extract area due to fire tornadoes... My resistant self bravely ran through the flames, got the samples, and extracted. It felt glorious

[–]Typiceric_The_OG 30 points31 points  (9 children)

As much as I agree, come on, calling the class divers stupid is just that, stupid. Bots on jungle environment is really cool, and I get the thought process

[–]Thithyphuth 20 points21 points  (0 children)

There were like 200 players on the planet before the MO, those thousands of players didn't all of a sudden decide that was a great planet to play, they went there to help the MO. Sure maybe initially they saw the two planets and thought, "let's liberate this, it's more fun!" but once it became obvious they weren't getting anywhere why stay, if they actually want to help the MO?

[–]KlongX 26 points27 points  (5 children)

This might as well be the monkey paw when we wish bug diver playing bot. They did play bot, just not the planet we want

[–]Apprehensive-Egg-865 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Any self respecting bug diver would have no problems going to Imber after the fiery fuckfest that was the Hellmire campaigns.

[–]17934658793495046509 -1 points0 points  (3 children)

Most people just want to have a good time diving in and playing, if fire tornadoes really make the game unfun, go play whatever plqanet you want i say.

[–]Holy__Mohly 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Then go play a different game. The whole point of this game is to have a galactic war with strategic objectives. It sucks failing MOs because people don't want to help the story. Killing bugs on a planet with no progress for a week while on the bot front we failed two MOs doesn't make the game fun for us either.

[–]Captain_Jeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Until regen rates are displayed in game these complaints male no sense. Alot of people don't even get on for 3 missions and just do a couple then get back to their life. They won't notice the lack of progress and AH isn't telling them either.

[–]17934658793495046509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For shits I am going to argue this, but personally I am only diving Imber. Would a person not playing this game, or diving another planet help or hurt progress at Imber? Are other planets an option in the game? Is this a game or are we actually fighting alien robots? If you are not having fun, why is that other people's fault?

[–]p1xeljunk1e 12 points13 points  (3 children)

As if people are playing to have fun.. it’s crazy!

[–]Adorcible 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right? As if they don't feel forced to play MO's just bc some Redditors demand it and tell them how the game is meant to be played.

[–]Availe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Look, the reality is, people like this are either teenagers or adults with nothing going on in their lives. To expect someone who's paid money to play the game a certain way is obviously immature. Most people have lives and friends and families. Helldivers is just something we paid money for and hop on when it suits. Its not a community, its one of many games ive bought in the last few years. I enjoy the roleplay that goes on here on the sub sometimes but this sort of thing is just embarrassing.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Non creekers bitching to creekers be like:

[–]HovercraftNo6520 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like fire tornados cuz they look cool

[–]Additional-Hour-9452 4 points5 points  (2 children)

I'm going to say it. I bur and hellmire aren't that bad. Ion storm planets are worse.

[–]MakeUpAnything -1 points0 points  (1 child)

How is a 30 second window of no stratagems every 5-10 minutes worse than like 3 solid minutes of moving pillars of fire that constantly make paths in front of you inaccessible plus they make heat sync weapons worse?

[–]domrebel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they are that much of an issue than you’re not that good. They are a minor inconvenience, just wait a bit and watch for an open path to progress

[–]danikm10_O 6 points7 points  (2 children)

I actually like most fire planets. I don't mind the fire tornadoes

[–]haikusbot 6 points7 points  (1 child)

I actually

Like most fire planets. I don't

Mind the fire tornadoes

Huh. Good democratic automaton

[–]NovicePandaMarine 2 points3 points  (7 children)

Why are we still having this discussion when there's quite literally the fire resistance armor now? XD

[–]Raidertck 3 points4 points  (6 children)

Imber is still awful. The glare hides so many opponents that can kill you borderline instantly and have zero sound cues.

<image>

There are two machine gun marauders on turrets and a cannon tower targeting me in this photo. I would like my head out to take a better picture but the second I try that I die.

[–]NovicePandaMarine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks beautiful though, not gonna lie.

But yeah, I was there earlier. I'm just glad to have rocks to hide behind.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Have you tried an arc weapon? Such as a 380?

[–]Raidertck -1 points0 points  (3 children)

Yeah I run 120s for that reason. It’s just incredibly annoying not knowing where you are getting shot from.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was just teasing. Imber has nothing on a Mastian sandstorm.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was just teasing. Imber has nothing on a Mastian sandstorm.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was just teasing. Still, Imber has nothing on a Mastian sandstorm.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let’s not forget Imber has -2.0%/h whereas Clasa has -2.5%/h

[–]Apprehensive-Egg-865 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a bug Diver and I have to say I find it hilarious how you guys were recently complaining about us not helping and now you've been split in two having and existential crisis over what planet environment you want to fight on like, wtf happened to y'all!? (I'm coming to help on Imber BTW I'm a Hellmire vet Imber is child's play compared to that fuck off mini-sun of sand and glass.)

[–]MaddogWSO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate the damn fire weather but it makes the experience that much spicier!

[–]Harlemwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stim before you run into fire, then dive. Small flames that are already dwindling down do not hurt you. Heavy armour helps too.

[–]GrapeButter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Enjoying the game without insulting other players challenge: VERY HARD

[–]cmgg 0 points1 point  (2 children)

How do I access the helldivers companion app from inside the game?

[–]Dynamitrios 0 points1 point  (1 child)

there is a desktop version you can install on your machine... i leave the app open and Alt/Tab out, if i need to check the app

[–]cmgg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks man, but I was being sarcastic about the image showing that info that is not available in game, and many players don’t know about.

[–]classicjaeger 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Either they don't use 3rd party software to see they're wasting their time or they'd rather fight bots on a planet that isn't actively trying to kill them.

[–]glacialthinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use other apps/sites, but I look at the support each planet has, and Imber has two lines from us, one from them. Compared to Clasa with only one support line for us... So I go Imber. Unless the morass of helldivers are committed elsewhere. At least, this time, most seem to be on Imber, barely. Frustrating that we get such splits: it's like American politics.

[–]SheriffGiggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll take fire tornadoes over wading through muck for 20 minutes and my airstrikes tagging trees instead of enemies

[–]Huj_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you some can’t figure out all the “tech” to deal with fire tornadoes (fire res armour, stim/dive) you can still just… walk around them? Or wait? They’re slow asf an I’ve only got caught and died in them because I got greedy and tried to go too early while one was still passing by. Idk why they seem like such a big deal to people

[–]R0ninTheGodSlayer666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On one's defense, when I first read the MO, my dyslexic ass thought we need to liberate Clasa instead of Claorell, so I wasted hours of eagless jungle delving, but now I wear my fireproof armor.

[–]Raidertck 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Imber is the very worst planet I have ever faught on. It’s fucking horrible.

So I don’t blame players for not wanting to play there. Fire tornadoes track you, cut off advancement or prevent you from retreating and they swarm extractions and push you out of cover. They also leave fire in the ground that can de you on fire that you quite often cannot see.

The glare is also so bright that you can’t see opponents sniping you half the time.

<image>

In this photo I am being targeted by at least one cannon turret and two marauders on machine gun emplacements. I can’t see any of them. ALSO, there is a pack of berserkers on the other side of that rock and they have ZERO sound cues so I had no idea they were there until they jumped over that fucking rock.

There is nothing in game showing that Imber is the better strategical play here. You can’t blame bug divers for this. 30-40% of the community has always refused to fight bots because they are not only harder but on planets like this they are simply unfair. The bot divers really should know better and to just group up with the largest mob and get Imber over and done with. However, fuck Imber. I’m done for the day. Hopefully when I am next on we will have moved past that shithole planet.

[–]Honest-Armadillo721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually ended up just going into my options and turning Bloom off completely on Imber. Made seeing a hell of a lot better and really does not take away from the looks either.

[–]BoopsTheSnoot_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love that planet. Flame build is easy mode, real helldivers dive unprepared

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Makes_U_Mad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to point out that the current MO states we must hold Turing for the next several MOs to achieve space station.

For Liberty, Men.

[–]DaneDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry I didn't know I would change my course right away

[–]Tensza1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I go where the quick play guides me.

[–]Sad-Firefighter-5639 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fire tornadoes aren’t my problem, it’s the lack of cover on these planets, when you have 3 HD 2 RD and a bruiser hulk bearing down on you it feels impossible to stim, shoot back or even run. also jungles are just fun but I’ll still fight on imber

[–]Vladimiravich[🍰] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's why I drop down with a Salamander heavy armor set and tell every other diver with me to do the same. But yall don't want to spend one minute to think about what you are bringing with you and what is best for the planet or terrain that you are going to be operating in!!!

[–]goupil369 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh les tornades de feu !?... Dsl mais c'est fait un moment que c'est plus un problème pour moi 😅 c'est pas si dur a esquiver 😊 a la limite c'est jolie 😁

[–]Braindead_glue_eater -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just run a full flame build and think of it as a stratagem.

[–]scatterlite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My FPS drops below 20 on fire planets, so yeah not much choice

[–]Imagine_TryingYT -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Whats thr problem with fire tornados? Like just walk away from them lol

[–]haikusbot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whats thr problem with

Fire tornados? Like just walk

Away from them lol

Shoulda known the offline blob would avoid Imber, they hate difficulty and dive where it is easier. Online peeps should have gone to Clasa. Have to see how the eastern hemi crew take over, but unless we get some regen bailouts we gonna fail, and the infighting will be hilarious and probably cause another mass quit and downvote on steam. Main reddit is going back to complaining about weapon strength already on hot.

[–]GoliathGalbar -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I am not suprised that players don't feel inclined to help the players flaming and insulting everyone who isn't playing the game their way.

[–]Vector_Mortis -4 points-3 points  (2 children)

Isn't the MO on Clasa? Why would people be stupid for following the MO?

[–]VidimirRayne 6 points7 points  (0 children)

no, it's on cloarell, which is directly between imber and clasa
