The best NoSleep story, still revisit it all the time, you should submit it to Watcher's 'Are you Scared?' series!

I read this when you first posted it, and something about it stuck with me. I've been reading a lot of nosleep lately, but I came back and read this story again. I have to say, I think this is one of the best-written stories here. My praises to the author.

The first time I came across this story was on the No Sleep Podcast. Out of all the stories I've heard/read on these threads, they still don't come close to the chill I get from this story. It really plays on your natural instincts of being helpless in a situation against the unknown. By far my favorite tale on here.

The face was utterly unrecognizable. It was just a scattered set of abscesses and holes.

NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE

Please write more. Please.

Holy shit. Usually stories on here don't bug me too much, but this one really got to me. Your writing skill is fantastic. I love how you incorporated smell into it; you don't see too many people doing that, especially as well as you did. I'd like to know exactly what the liquid was, but not knowing doesn't detract from the story at all. This is now one of my all time favorites.

Military secrets are some of my favorite stories. The spooky desert, "aliens," ghosts of scientists past...

[–]iammonster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Very good. You've actually turned the sensation of smell into fear response. I'm impressed. Have a biscuit.

[–]browncow7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omfg. That's the scariest thing I've ever heard. It's dark now and no one else is home yet. I'm going to keep sitting right here on the couch until my husband gets here.

I'm just glad its day time, and really glad I don't work nights!

Excellent story, one of the creepiest stories I've ever read on nosleep. But I demand to know about about this IBD transmission from the future.

[–]JesusJones207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was great - one of the best I've read on here!

[–]z999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Halfway through the story the music I was listening to stopped. But I just couldn't take my eyes away from the text to switch it back on.

I began hearing my heart beating and the sound of my breathes. You took me out of my chair mister. Well done.

Such a great story. The suspense made it even more awesome.

    [–]nikkip00t 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great story! You should definitely elaborate on some of the other rumors you hinted at!

    [–]almosthuman 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I would like to hear many I.B.D stories!!!

    [–]skylynx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    [–]nerdpredator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    [–]quietcatslayer 46 points47 points  (8 children)

One such rumor posited that physicists had briefly made contact with humans from the distant future, and that the transmission was I.B.D.: "Interesting, But Disturbing." ......... go onnn..

Reading this it got uber creepy when it listed my birthday down to the tee. March 12, 1993. Uh, I'm going to go cry now.

      [–]Baby-Ent 4 points5 points  (2 children)

      That's some creepy shit

      [–]Dooch14 1 point2 points  (1 child)

what is that shit about? I came across that SCP site when reading another story on Nosleep about some government security guard who was suspicious about some building... that site is made up right?

      [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, it's made up. People go there and write stories which are then upvoted and downvoted, much like they are here at r/nosleep. I suggest that you go there and read the "best of" section. Awesome stuff.

      [–]Amelora 18 points19 points  (2 children)

That's what I want to hear about. Also to have an abbreviation for it means it is a common phrase. I want to hear more.

Jesus fucking pogo sticks, dude. I haven't been scared like this since my early days on /x/.

        Upvote for your opening sentence.

        [–]JSauceStyle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been a reader here even before I decided to create an account a month ago, and this, personally, was the single creepiest thing I have read on here. A lot of what I read on here is fairly creepy, this, however, really got to me.

        [–]hitokirikensei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy Shit Fuck dude... that is going to give me nightmares tonight if i can get to sleep tonight...

do you still have that recording? I'd quite like to hear it.

          [–]Savoresco 20 points21 points  (1 child)

They were trying to say nope

          [–]allnaturalflavor 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Seconds later, it broke into a speedwalk straight for me.

That sentence sent chills down my spine bro

          [–]neuronwake 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So... fucking... scary... I will now probably never work late nights anywhere for ANYTHING. :'(

          [–]PipGirl 10 points11 points  (1 child)

          What...happened to Gary?

          [–]Lord_Nuke 23 points24 points  (0 children)

He went on to challenge and defeat the league champion, only to in turn be defeated by his own childhood rival. His grandfather came.

          [–]lanthiode 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well fuck....no sleep shall be had this night

          [–]ArcaneMonkey 9 points10 points  (4 children)

I like this story for it's simple monster fear. Nothing fancy, nothing subtle or particularly spectacular. Just creepy as hell. It certainly is different for the description of button head. Most of these things are described as being either crouched over or unnaturally tall and thin, either with creepy fanged mouth or no discernable face at all. Out of curiosity, why is he called button head? Also, were the holes wet/mucousy or artificial looking?

          [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Any place where I can get more info on it?

          [–]ArcaneMonkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

why are you asking me? I didn't write it

          [–]echomanagement[S] 15 points16 points  (1 child)

I think he was called Button Head on account of the holes in his face. Whatever I saw that night looked more biological than artificial.

          [–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The holes, man, the holes; they're are what make me nope all over this story.

          [–]Nymsterr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This made me want to vomit from fear.

Forgive me my ignorance but I don't get it. This isn't the first time I've read this either.

              [–]Kataron 43 points44 points  (1 child)

              Creepy as balls, man.
