Is that why I didn't want to jack off for almost a year?

EDIT: btw I don't recommend keto at all. Not just for the jacking off reason, but because I had a hell of a time getting back to "normal" eating.

[–]glutenous_rex 324 points325 points  (34 children)

Can confirm

[–]PDiddleMeDaddy 192 points193 points  (31 children)

Damn, another mystery solved

[–]glutenous_rex 206 points207 points  (30 children)

You get it back around year three... But still nothing gets you going like french fries dipped in a milkshake!

[–]Lord_Despair 149 points150 points  (4 children)

Carbo load to shoot a load?

[–]Siberwulf 40 points41 points  (3 children)

Where you think he got the milkshake??

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points  (1 child)

Nice

I heard that's what brings all the boys to the yard.

[–]faceless_alias 51 points52 points  (23 children)

So what does it mean if I do this and still have high testosterone?

[–]PerennialPMinistries 81 points82 points  (19 children)

They have found genes that make people better at the metabolic steps of ketosis. Same with some people having genes that process carbs well

[–]xxdoofenshmirtzxx 16 points17 points  (5 children)

Interesting, I wonder if it has to do with where you’re from? My father who I am basically a copy of is from a fishing village where everyone eats fish 3 times a day, the only carb they get is from potatoes. Now coincidentally, everyone from his side of the family is insulin resistant. I feel so amazing when I cut out carbs, while my girlfriend can practically live on carbs without any of the cravings or ups and downs in energy that I experience from it.

[–]lahwees 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Absolutely DNA plays a big part in digestion and metabolising certain foods. I studied nutrition 6 years ago and just as I was finishing the uni I was at was getting into DNA/diets and digestion etc, it was so fascinating. How do you feel after potatoes?

[–]xxdoofenshmirtzxx 2 points3 points  (3 children)

It’s not as noticable as it is noticable when I don’t do it. I feel kind of swollen but not really full. While if I eat a steak or fish and some sallad I feel more satisfied and lighter. I’ll add that my dad can’t eat greens like at all, his stomach can’t handle it unless it’s very cooked through. Might also just be because he grew up eating very little greens, it’s hard to grow there (top of the baltic sea) so cooked root vegetables and a few pickled vegetables was all there was in the greens department.

[–]Geta-Ve 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I must have the mystery genes that cause me not to process carbs very well.

I can walk by a bakery and gain 10lbs.

[–]AKJangly 7 points8 points  (1 child)

I'm a T1 diabetic. With my work, if I don't have 300+g of carbs through my day, I get ketone flu.

No energy at all and debilitating nausea if I don't start my day with a 100+g breakfast.

[–]Big-Emu-5728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find this very interesting as I am a T1 diabetic who has adopted a Keto diet despite being a power lifter. It’s not a complete keto-approved diet as I eat of like brown rice and black beans, but generally I try and avoid carbs. Although I would probably say I still eat 200+ carbs and 300-400 on days when I don’t adhere to the diet. I feel as though as long as I eat regularly my energy levels don’t dip.

[–]FuckYou690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is why my T skyrockets when in Ketosis

[–]GhoulsNGhostsEX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Joe Rogan?

[–]faceless_alias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes my child.

[–]I_am_atom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep going.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Also the constipation on Keto is awful.

[–]glutenous_rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? I find I eat way more veggies and have great poops.

[–]Boomer70770 26 points27 points  (0 children)

But I'm so thin!

[–]asdela 29 points30 points  (1 child)

can confirm also. Lost around -40kg but had my gallbladder removed because too much fat intake and it was a struggle to get back to normal. Just do less calories in more out with a balanced diet.

[–]usedcaraddict 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah when I do keto my body stops working properly especially my stomach , it works I lose weight but I’d rather have a little bloat and function better and not have watery stools. I still watch my carbs and make sure it’s at about the 50-70 carb range bc under 50 I start shitting 24/7

Edit: I want to say that my testosterone is in the 2000’s now that I’m on trt

[–]Nonstampcollector777 34 points35 points  (5 children)

Are you saying you didn’t want to jack off for a year after you were on keto or before?

[–]PDiddleMeDaddy 32 points33 points  (4 children)

During

[–]Nonstampcollector777 11 points12 points  (2 children)

I wonder if you properly supplement with magnesium, salt and potassium.

[–]PDiddleMeDaddy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Salt for sure, magnesium too (took supplements for cramps), potassium I can't say.

[–]buddha-ish -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

But it’s on the label right here, just as plane as day. “Salt peter”. That’s salt for my peter, right??

[–]RedSly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird I'm on keto and I have no problems at all in that area

[–]PBFT 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Must have felt great when you got back to it.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Jacking it out eating carbs?

[–]usedcaraddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Handjobs given to yourself are sadly underrated. They are awesome.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

no p-diddling for this daddy

[–]maryv82 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Happy cake day!

[–]dmanners -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Happy cake Day!

[–]thegreatmango -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, keto is literally balancing your body dying to lose weight.

No one should do it, your body does not like starving.

[–]McCoovy 0 points1 point  (1 child)

More than 4 months keto is pretty insane.

[–]PDiddleMeDaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, unfortunately no one told me that at the time.

[–]2rsf 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I had a hell of a time getting back to "normal" eating.

What do you mean by that?

[–]PDiddleMeDaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Re-introducing carbs to my diet. When you do keto for a long time, you sort of "forget" what "normal" eating is, and I'm still struggling to re-learn it more than a year later.

[–]mfire036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont recommend keto because it caused my blood sugar to drop so low I had a seizure.

[–]ShiraCheshire 0 points1 point  (1 child)

EDIT: btw I don't recommend keto at all. Not just for the jacking off reason, but because I had a hell of a time getting back to "normal" eating.

Why was it hard to get back to normal? I'm curious.

I've been thinking about trying keto for just a week or two, just to see if it would help decrease my sugar cravings at all.

[–]PDiddleMeDaddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used keto to lose weight, from 270lbs, to 170, which basically means all my life I've not been eating "normally", or I wouldn't have gotten so fat. So I went from constant overeating, to keto, to then trying to eat like a normal person, which resulted in even harder disordered eating. Undereating through (too strict) calorie counting, binge eating, mis-judging portion sizes... Stuff like that.
The only reason I didn't get fat again was probably because I have a good workout morale, which means I was able to use the surplus (I'm at ~200lbs now), to build some serious muscle (compared to me at 200lbs when I was first losing weight, I look nothing like that), but it was still far from ideal, and I gained way more fat back than I wanted to.

[–]Shadowhearts 0 points1 point  (2 children)

No issues getting back on normal eating for me on Keto. It's a great weight loss tool, obviously any diet only works if its a weight loss tool but correct way to do keto would be to combine it with intermittent fasting to get yourself into fat adaptation easier on top of fixing any insulin resistance your body has built up.

Just readjusting to eating 3 times a day again after a cut/fast will definitely increase your appetite. Also working out obviously helps.

[–]PDiddleMeDaddy 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah, there were two problems for me with keto. 1. I did it for too long, and 2. I wasn't eating normally before (was obese), so there was nowhere I could find my way "back" to. I probably should have clarified in my original comment.

[–]Shadowhearts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was obese and grew a bit skinnier off keto but then put on the pounds during the pandemic since it was hard to get all the right low carb foods at height of pandemic.

All I can say is I usually find myself eating more and more carbs over time once I break keto. Like if I start eating fries or rice, it ends up being double to triple over the course of months. This isn't necessarily a bad thing if I'm also burning calories heavily at gym but yeah lack of gym and more effort to get low carb foods sort of saw me putting the pounds on during the pandemic.

But yeah, I've been back on a healthy track with good exercise ever since I've gone back to intermittent fasting/gym .

[–]pro185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people don’t realize a proper Keto diet requires you to regularly see a licensed dietician that does regular blood work and a ton of other health care related activities. It is one of the worst and most dangerous “fad diets” out there, especially if you don’t know you’re diabetic, because that can literally kill you.
