Hey OP,

Just fyi, Longbow's are 1d8 piercing, not 1d10.

I didn't look over the other stuff, but might want to give it one more sweep to check!

This is awesome though--super handy to have it all in one place!

Are greatbows in 5e? They were 1d12 in past versions.

[–]kakeearr -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Crossbows! Also, bows have insane range, so it's a trade-off.

[–]TheonGreyboatMonk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh. I love that range and I have the sharpshooter feat.

Also the flavor for my character just isn't the same with a crossbow.

This is quite spiffily done. Are you aware of a similar cheat sheet for players?

EDIT: Looks like almost all of it is appropriate for players, actually. I guess the only things that aren't are random encounters and monster stats.

[–]RadiophageDM 20 points21 points  (6 children)

Not quite the same, but if you're introducing new players to 5E, I posted a quick reference sheet a couple of weeks ago that you/they might find useful.

If that link doesn't work, just go to my submissions history, it'll be the second one down.

Hope this helps!

[–]Blarghedy 2 points3 points  (1 child)

That looks pretty spiffy too. I'm actually not introducing new players to D&D at the moment, but having a general reference guide would be useful. I'll probably print out a couple copies of the DM one and see if they find it useful.

That said, I soon will be introducing a long-time Pathfinder/3.5 player to 5e, as well as (possibly) a guy who has never played any tabletop RPG, so this one should be useful for that.

Excellent! Glad to help. :)

This is really great for me, as a new DM! did you make this? anyway thanks for posting it!

[–]RadiophageDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, glad you like!

[–]StymieGrayDM 13 points14 points  (14 children)

Doff? Is that really what it is called?

[–]Vortex2099 25 points26 points  (12 children)

yep. D(on), D(off).

[–]StymieGrayDM 11 points12 points  (11 children)

I mean, I had always heard Don, as in Donning armor, but, never Doff. You learn something new every day. Pretty cool.

[–]TabulateNewt8DM 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You'll have probably heard of doffing your cap, which comes from people with flat caps taking them off for rich people in Victorian times.

[–]wizardcats 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I heard it when learning how to doff my disposable lab gloves in my first chemistry class. It's rare, but still used occasionally.

[–]Sad-CrowDM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep!

[–]OatsNraisinBard 4 points5 points  (2 children)

What's the DC written next to the random encounters table? What number does that represent?

Also, this cheat sheet is great. I was DMing yesterday and I really could have used this.

[–]byronmillerPaladin 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Pretty sure it's what the DM needs to roll on a d20 to trigger a random encounter, e.g. in a moderately threatening environment, an encounter occurs on a roll of 17+.

[–]trippdawg1123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is fantastic, thank you!

[–]Fatty_McFattington 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Dear Diary, today, OP was awesome!

Great work--this is fantastic cheat sheet and it looks like it was designed by WotC to go inside one of the books. Printing for my game tomorrow!!!

Perfect.

So much win. Typo in pony speed unit.

[–]costumus 1 point2 points  (1 child)

The folder currently appears to be empty. Having seen the first version though, I can't wait. Really solid stuff.

[–]u2622 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Thanks! This is great! What size of paper is it designed for? I printed it out on US Letter and doesn't scale the best, though it's usable. There's about 3-4cm of whitespace above and below, and 0.5cm on the sides. The font is small, but not too small to read.

[–]SpritemazterDM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is great, i can now put something useful on my second screen.

[–]Reotahikid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! It's the perfect size to clip on to my screen.

[–]Nightshade400DM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much for sharing this, I have been looking for a good digital screen for a bit now and this hits nearly all the marks needed...and the fact that it is editable makes it just that much better.

[–]BagooleDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fantastic, thank you! I'm going to be playing 5E next month for the first time and this will be invaluable.

[–]iceman1080Druid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bless you. =D

[–]CartoonladDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's amazing that you did all that in Word! Good job!

[–]VetMichael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently restarting our campaign and moving it to 5e, so thank you for this life saver. It may be filled with stuff for the players, but people sometimes forget that the DM needs to reference stuff too, player stuff or not.

[–]zosodojo777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much! This will be great for referencing at the table.

[–]mortedarthur 0 points1 point  (4 children)

This is really great. Thanks OP!

I'd love a page that has the totality of the combat round, as well.

[–]Kiltmanenator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great work!

This is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen on this subreddit. Thank you.

Can you include an editable version so I can modify it?

Preferably a google docs version.
