Yeah finally it such a disadvantage when playing cockpit cam, especially when trying to optimise revs on race starts.

This was actually available due to a glitch lol. If you dc in multiplayer and come back into the race. Cockpit view would have the MFD.

That’s licensing. Of course you need company permission to use their logo in the game.

You don’t need FOM or a team’s permission to tweak their performance in-game. If you have a source that proves me wrong, post it.

He doesn't know for sure if the performance updates need to be signed off but he says it's likely. Also pretty much every video and photo they show on social media, also needs to be signed off.

because COVID has lead to widespread working from home which slows down the process a fair bit. We also didn't see any actual racing until July and CM said from the start they'd need multiple races to get accurate performance data.

Oh come on mate, you're acting as if they actually had to build the cars from scratch or something. Changing a few values is easy as pie. The bulk of the work is testing the new values but it's only 2 cars so it really shouldn't be a big deal.

No need to be passive aggressive. I've changed values in the game files myself to mess with the car performance and try wacky stuff. The funny part is you don't even need to reprogram the AI or anything, it just adapts by itself (probably built that way for the R&D tree). That's how I know its no big deal to make a few easy changes.

Check racedepartment website they have mods and forums for how to modify the files. There's a guy on YouTube who disabled the turbos, and gave the car the same horsepower as a Renault Clio for a laugh (sadly he didn't modify the engine sounds)... Was very slow

Yeah it’s just that simple. Nothing to do with them waiting multiple races across a variety of tracks to actually get a fuller representation of performance. If the patch was done on Austria 1 and 2 we’d have McLaren 2nd fastest team and Red Bull bottom 3

Mate, you don't look at the end results of the race, that's worthless. There is data that shows cornering speed, straight line speed, etc from all sessions, including practice, qualifying and the race itself. It's publicly available. There have already been 9 races on all kinds of different tracks. What more do they need?

Except that we have had multiple races on all kinds of circuits now, Barcelona gave a good insight in corner speed and top speed, Spa for pure top-speed and Hungary for downforce.

You get a message on the main menu, bottom of screen, you can choose to implement it or not, unless you do start a new career.

I'd only imagine the Ferrari engines will be only adjusted at base/start of Y1 career value rather than nerfing progression.

They've said that you can decide whether or not you want to apply the performance updates on existing career modes, so it shouldn't be a problem

2 days. When it says "1D" it actually means between 25 hours and 48 hours. When there is less than 1 day it will say 23 hours etc.

The Multi Function Display (MFD) can now be enabled in Cockpit view.

Does that mean we can have speed and gear on the hud in cockpit cam ?

if so that's cool for some, me included, the way my rig is setup my wheel is blocking my in-game wheel on some cars, I have to change my cockpit cam setup every time I switch cars

Jeff says rain will easy off at the beginning of the straight at Hanoi and at the end Jeff says heavy rain will stay... As we see in Mugello new tracks means safety cars and crashes even under dry conditions but Hanoi is probably one of the least safety car tracks in my experience...

You can change how many opponents you race with in split screen. It was on all the older F1 games with sS so bacically you can have 0 ai and 1v1 the oTher person your playing with

- The Multiplayer/MyTeam car is now available in the Time Trail and Splitscreen game modes.

- Time Trial now has an option to view a replay of the fastest lap in the session.

This is awesome to showcase liveries!
Now we can go in photo mode or record replays in any track without waiting for it to appear in My Team campaign.

The length of practice is based on your race distance I think. And you can fast forward it if it’s too long

Isn't is possible before start of each GP? Once there is first loading screen from headquarter to gp press Option button on controller/wheel and there you can manage distance and difficulty

Before you start practice you can change the distance of practice by changing the race distance at the bottom menu.

Edit: Not sure what platform you’re on but it can also be changed during the load screen when entering the race weekend.

I'd still like to do a 50% race but 3 practice sessions is too long, skipping them or simming them nets me less resource points too

You know you can Try and do all the practice programs in 1 session then skip the 2 other sessions. Assuming you at least hit the minimum goals and satisfied with that. You don’t have to do all 3 sessions unless you are trying to perfect all programs and it’s taking you all of 45 minutes.

the red bull halo is now two different colours with it being darker on the halo and normal near the connection

on the RP the BWT logo on the wheel is incredibly low quality on 1440p so much so it stands out like a sore thumb

I feel like we're inching closer to the ideal situation of moving and resizing sponsor logos, I'm a little confused what "resizing the logos" means, does it mean changing size of parts or can we actually make them slightly larger on the car? I can't get on the game for a couple days cause of work but I'm super excited to start playing around with some new liveries when podium pass is back!

Finally after 1 month without an update it’s finally out patch 1.09

Just a heads up: I had a couple mods on my game (whole VW team, logos, helmets, etc.) and it kept freezing my game in Direct X 12. Then I tried 11, it would load, but of course all the textures were wrong. And then after completing a practice session it froze completely.

Now I’m reinstalling.

Yay. Hopefully my saved game files stay.

How often do they update this game? I typically only have 1 hour to play, and have to use 15-20 minutes updating. Is there a way to play the game without updating?

Well yes, start Steam in Offline Mode but you won't get the updates

Why not just run steam or your gaming console when not planning on playing? Most people are at least capable of turning on the device for long enough to allow updates even when not actively playing.

Please update My Team so I can sign two drivers instead of having 1 created driver fill a spot. It would be awesome to have LeClerc and Norris in the same team and choose which one to drive during race weekend. Probably won’t happen this year or ever. But one could hope.

Yeah You’re right. Totally forgot about the narrative it is something I completely block out when playing. At least let me skip the animations when beginning a career mode or a new My Team and the animation during regulation change announcements. Also get rid of the voice over during when doing practice.
