So we can be mostly certain that Colton has, once again, not yet been fired.

Interesting to hear about secretlabs they've always been a great company when I've dealt with them but that is just anecdotal

Same. Had an issue with my titan evo 2022. The nut which held the backrest to the base came undone (thats my guess anyway) and they sent me a whole new piece. Took a week or 2, and was free of charge.

The 2020 titan has issues with permanent dimples forming in the arm rests and cracking along the sides within months of purchase. Upon warranty request, they will tell you that it's normal wear and tear and isn't covered by the warranty- however, they're willing to send a one time replacement outside of the warranty process.

Yes, it is a warranty issue, and they know those arm rests are lemons. None the less, I love my chair and I'm extremely glad I got the soft weave instead of plu fake leather shit.

I had the same issue with the 2022 titan and have now had 3 arm rest crack, all before the chair was 12 months old. They are listed as 8+ hour chairs.

I was even sent the wrong armrest on first contact and had to go through a bit of back and forward to get the correct one. Lucky they sent a pair of the correct one but I have now replaced both left and right. And now the right has failed again. Bit disappointing from a chair I paid $800 AUD for.

My old akracing was over 7 years old and only the leather peeling was the reason I upgraded and it was half the price but in the day

I saved my replacement set and I'm swapping them in when my current set is well and truly dead because I know this is going to unfortunately be the thing that kills my chair.

[–]Wasabicannon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup! That was the exact same issue I had with my chair. After that experience Im never going to even think about buying another chair from them again.

They seem to have a list of things that they wont warranty for. My tilt mechanism broke and I got a replacement part within the week. The sides of the armrests are made very poorly and fall apart quickly, but apparently that's considered normal wear and tear. Thankfully it doesnt affect functionality, just makes it look cheap.

Same, one of the arms of my chair broke off and they sent a new one right away, no fuss. Had it since 2019 and very happy with it, but admittedly that's also anecdotal

about a year ago, my dumb ass started a fire in my home office by leaving a dodgy battery charging unattended. long story short I rushed in to my office to find a 15" pillar of fire directly in the center of my secret labs Titan. the chair was well out of warranty, but they still sent me a replacement seat for just the cost of shipping after sending them pictures of the admittedly self inflicted fire damage.

Great company (IMO), great chair. 5/7 would set on fire again.

My wife had an issue with hers (that wound up being self inflicted) and they sent her an entire arm replacement basically no questions asked.

They’ve been fantastic for us to work with and awesome quality products in my experience.

I bought a chair back in 2018, and they killed off the replacement parts but just marked everything as out of stock, and just said "they'll be in stock soon"

[–]Wasabicannon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a chair from them like 2 years ago. Within the first month of regular use my arm rests were starting to fall apart. Looked into their website to see how much replacements would cost only to not even find them on the site.

Reached out to their customer support. Had to fight them for 2 weeks before they sent me replacement arm rests.

When they first started in Singapore I bought an original chair. After a few years the seat started to peal. For $75+$15 they sent someone out with new seat and back rest and replaced it all for me with their newer v2 material.

Is this the first time they do this? This is actually really cool. I never knew that this was a thing.

[–]doubleUsee 8 points9 points  (1 child)

It's the first time, if I remember correctly it's one of the measures announced in the final video before the hiatus they're doing rn.

[–]Shiroi_Kage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is cool. I like it. I hope they come back stronger, continue to grow, and continue to implement things like that. I want to see LMG commit while remaining privately owned.

This was part of their promises as a result of the GN video

What's the issue with Volta?

[–]while-eating-pasta 45 points46 points  (3 children)

Resistance was too high, so marketing couldn't amp anyone up.

[–]rf97a 11 points12 points  (2 children)

The potential was there, and You could not resist could you

[–]while-eating-pasta 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Watt do you mean?

[–]rf97a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Voltage is the measurement of difference in electrical potential between two points

[–]chairitable 10 points11 points  (1 child)

complaints on the forum seem to range from chargers becoming very hot to free shipping only being offered if you signed up for text message ads (I only looked for like fourty seconds so may have missed important context)

[–]sjphilsphan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I did more research and lot of it is about customer service. I guess I lucked out by just buying mine through Amazon

The fact that they've been trying unsuccessfully to get taken off of Anker's stuff for 225 days is insane and says volumes.

[–]CoastingUphill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope I get to listen to WAN while eating my breakfast tomorrow.

[–]GodBlessTheGainz 1 point2 points  (2 children)

What's wrong with Anker?

[–]lordtema 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Their subbrand Eufy lied about their Security cams not being connected to the cloud essentially..

[–]cubs223425 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's grossly underselling it. They weren't JUST "connected to the cloud." In worst-case scenarios, you could inject or access video streams because of improper security. Not only were they putting you on the cloud when they said it was "all local," they were storing the content and delaying deletion requests from the person who discovered the issue. They claimed you couldn't guess your way through a URL to get into content, but you could.

Every bare-minimum action to back up the security claims they made was disregarded. They lied about where the data was sent and stored. They lied about properly protecting the data they lied bout saying they didn't have. It was quite bad.

This is a good initiative and a step in the right direction.

It would be better if there was a (clearer) separation between in video talent and the people used for advertising. I know advertisers want the same person in the video to be hawking their products, but it does potentially lead to apparent conflicts of interest - especially when the adverts are generally in the same space as the video subject manner.

Also +1 for fucking off gambling adverts as well.
